I am an American, and I can say that Top Gear US is the worst attempt by American television to replicate a British show. I can handle the hatred of all things American by Clarkson, due to the amazing quality of the show! I want to race him!

@charliepioneer Maybe in the US and in the movies, but in the UK if you role even a crap car like this one, all that happens is you get to kiss some airbags. Been there done that. I also know several people who've rolled cars at speed without airbags and only got bruises.

Not sure whether this is just me being patriotic, but not at any point do they mention this is an British program, made by English people, loved by the British public. Americans are just jealous that they cant think of anything so original and uniquely funny. So they avoid the fact it is made by there 'friends' across the pond.

@willguice11 i'm from the U.S. and i agree, we are jealous, in fact so jealous that somebody decided to copy Top Gear with another show called Top Gear, as if it has never existed before, not to mention that the British version is so much better and that the only thing we do on our show is what your show has already done. So in a sense we do avoid the fact that it was made by our friends across the pond and i hope that people will realize that soon and give everybody over there some major credit

@pauliewanacracker Exactly. I spent 4 months living in Britain and I noticed that they just generally take life a lot more lightly than most people here in the States. They aren't concerned with political correctness and watching a meeting of Parliment speaks to how British people are. American Top Gear had to avoid offending anyone or hurting someone's feelings, because that would be the worst thing ever. Freedom of speech only goes as far as what FCC thinks wont make people feel bad

Jeremy Clarkson is an anti-American dick, but other than that, I've never missed an episode! Top Gear (the U.K version) is the best thing on television.

I love it because it doesn't pretend to be anything more than what it is, three dumb asses driving very expensive cars and traveling the world. for me,Top Gear is Neverland.

This 60 Minutes report pretty much sums it all up about the coolest TV show with cars ever made. I too think that the chemistry between the cohosts is a major part of the show. It's about three guys (mostly) enjoying each other's company and having fun with cars.

Best show ever! Anyways, The US Top Gear, which aired last night, wasn't bad. It wasn't TG UK, of course, but it was acceptable and entertaining. Certainly the best car show the US has ever come up with.

@Redshift21 I agree. The only thing that bugs me is the commercials. I know, we have to have them, but they should make the show an hour and a half or something to compensate. I just don't like how rushed the studio segments feel. But I love it regardless :)
