  • Black guy,you SUCK!!!There's no Sega 3DS!!!

  • the name of nintendo CD is playstation

  • @TheGabrielSena Or CD-i! :D

  • MK I>> MK II

  • my right ear is sad :(

  • holy fuck, someone actually thought the music of naked city could be used in a commercial?

  • Back when video game commercials were shots of douchebags in front of bright ass glowing white TVs in the dark, typical 90's transitions and about 4 seconds of actual gameplay footage. Gotta love it.

  • LOL - god sega REALLY tried to ram it up nintendo's ass!

  • There is no Nintendo cd...

    Nor Sega cdi

  • @dragonquesto sony was working with nintendo to make a cd addon for the super famicom but it fell through and sony went off to make the playstation. makes you wonder what nintendo would of been like if sony stayed with them.

  • technically there is a nintendo cd its called the playstation lol

  • @reesercliff until the PS2, XBOX, XBOX 360, Wii and PS3 came out.

  • What kind of idiot carries around bare CDs in his pockets??? LOL

  • Why is their no sound.

  • Get N or get out.

  • There is no Nintendo cd... until 2001

  • There is no Nintendo CD, but one was planned. Which led to PlayStation and CDi.

  • 0:24 columns? for sega cd? ehehe okay

  • @vajksziget7a

Furthermore, use your fucking head, and think about it. M$ killed Sega, and took the ideas for their own. You're mental if you think otherwise. Microsoft had their hands in the pot long before the Xbox.

inb4 "HOW DOES M$ HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT"

Read the front of your fucking DC, asshat. Use logic, and think about it.

  • @RADHelpdesk WTF are you talking about? Sega killed itself by abandoning their consoles too early. They abandoned the 32X add-on just months after release and then they killed the Sega Saturn to focus on the Dreamcast. Microsoft wrote the Windows CE environment for the DC, but they had NOTHING to do with Sega's fall. Sega hired a new CEO who felt that Sega's future would be in software, not hardware, so the new President abandoned the DC and the system was only a few years old. Google it.

  • @RADHelpdesk Plus, the Playstation 2 killed the DC in sales, so that was another deciding factor. This information is common knowledge. It was also mentioned in MANY gaming magazines back in the day, so never mind the Internet, if that's your argument. So before you call someone else an idiot. check your own facts first. A belief in something is not fact. The facts have been stated.

  • @ClassicVideoGamerMag

You're an idiot. Did I do good? GTFO with your shitty SN trying to make people think that you know anything about shit.

  • @RADHelpdesk I know plenty dipshit. Unlike you who was still an itch in his daddy's pants, I was there to actually live it, buy it, and own it.

  • @ClassicVideoGamerMag

Also, you're a classic game fan, yet you're putting the DC out of it glory? You're worthless. You wouldn't know what good games were if someone dropped a 50 gallon drum filled with them on your head.

  • @RADHelpdesk You really ARE a dumb motherfucker. You can't argue with historical fact you fucking dimwit; it was printed in EVERY fucking video game magazine and the NCP has public sales numbers to back it. Making up your own shit to sound fucking smart, when historical proof contradicts everything you say, makes you look like the DUMBEST motherfucker on Youtube, which you are BTW. Here's a dollar, buy a fucking clue asswipe. Better yet, leave classic gaming - you suck at it.

  • @vajksziget7a

Something tells me that you weren't old enough to hold a controller when the Dreamcast launched, and got all of your info off of the internet, because your list looks like a copypasta of a bunch of different sites.

I'm a DC fan as well, best system ever made, imo. But if you're gonna defend it, don't disgrace it by touting info like you know anything.

  • Sega CD was actually a quality system capable of great games (lust look at Sonic CD, lunar 1&2, Snatcher, Final Fight CD, exc) sad thing is people were just so convinced fmv was the wave of the future in games it became the main focus.

  • @zaccds

Final Fight CD has one of the BEST soundtracks ever.

  • indeed it did really showed off the cd quality music the Sega CD could do.

  • @zaccds Yeah. They even had some good RPGs that were overshadowed by the FMV games.

  • @zaccds It wasn't the main focus in Japan. The Japanese released a ton of quality shooters and role-playing games for the Sega CD / Mega CD.

  • Yeah I forgot about those when posting the comment. Was more focusing on the outside of japan market due to this being an advertisement for North America.

  • @zaccds yeah its true but at the time you was lucky if you can afford one so of corse it was decent

  • @zaccds I agree.

  • SNES? Homie don't play that

  • I LOVE HOW SYSTEMS DISS OTHERS BACK IN THE DAYS AND NOW THESE DAYS NOBODY CARES NOW

  • haha... I miss these companies taking shots at one another. How awesome would it have been for Sony to put out a PS3 advertisement that said "Our units don't overheat" and then show a 360 melting. And then the old school PSX era "Playstation" sound hits or something

  • Old school commerials is the shit! This would never hold up in commercials today because they became parodies of themselves :(

  • Well, they did kinda fuck it up. The SEGA CD would have been good if it was cheaper, or better yet, they just saved all of their research and technology on the successors. Granted, there really wasn't anything wrong with the Dreamcast aside from the lack of anti-piracy. But that makes it the best game console to buy from a thrift store. Ever. $5 for a console with infinite free games. Ayup.

  • This could have been great, but they fucked it up

  • Ill be damned if that isnt Boredoms conveying the chaos in that montage

  • Anyway, even as a Nintendo fan, I still love the Dreamcast. A 128-bit console in 1998? Especially when everybody else had 32-bit consoles and the only true 64-bit console (the N64) was in last place? (But I still love the N64 more than the Dreamcast.)

  • @wwtoonlinkfan Dreamcast was also the only console of it's generation that could do HD (VGA box unlocked Dreamcast's HD mode) this was a WHOLE generation before the rest of the pack caught up with SEGA and made it standard.

SEGA also pioneered Online gaming on home consoles which again only became standard the next generation afterwards, as well as being the first system to introduce 60Hz and full screen in PAL territories which yet again only became standard long after SEGA pioneered it.

  • There is no Nintendo CD. But there was going to be. The Nintendo PlayStation (yes, Nintendo PlayStation) was a joint deal with Sony and Nintendo to make a CD add-on for the Super Nintendo. But Nintendo saw that Sony would own all the rights to games published for the PlayStation, so they cut the deal and sided with Philips. Then Nintendo cut with Philips as well-you all know how that ended up, right?

  • @wwtoonlinkfan You're right with the Nintendo - Sony joint CD thing that Nintendo started as a response to the Sega CD, that's how Sony got into the Video game industry with the Playstation in the first place.

Philips tried that too after their failed joint venture with Nintendo, but they were far from as successful as Sony was.

  • i miss cartridges...

  • Nothing at your screen >.<

  • Sony PS1 = Killed Sega CD and Saturn

Phillips CD-i= Good for using in YTP

    Atari Jaguar (CD)= Killed Atari

Sega CD= A big flunk with the 32X

  • CD-i!

  • Thank god there wasn't a nintendo CD. XD

  • @IRNatman, There was going to be one for the SNES, where Nintendo and Sony where working on, but then Nintendo made another deal with Philips (that's how the Mario and Zelda titles came to CD-i) to make a CD addon, and out of anger Sony developed the Playstation.

  • @TheRealDutchOwner I knew that, I was just saying. But thank god Sony made the Playstation. One of my favorites. XD

  • This commercial aired just a month after the Nintendo CD was announced was announced to be under construction, even though it eventually became the Playstation.

  • Don't understand why A CD blows you away

  • Sega CD? More like Sega Shit! (to be fair, it had Sonic CD, but that's the only good game it ever had.)

  • Genesis + Sega CD = Super Nintendo. See, it's more like Sega doesn't what Nintendoes.

  • There's no Nintendo CD because the SEGA CD SUCKS!!!

  • $300? THATS A LOW PRICE

  • where is sega now? MAKING GAMES FOR NINTENDO WII!

  • actully there was a nintendo cd its call a GAMECUBE xD

  • 90s videogame ads <333

  • the reason there wasnt a nintendo CD im assuming is because nintendo realised releasing a new console every 3 years = bankrupt

  • @DragonZord90 The Sega Nomad is much better than the Game Gear. It plays Genesis games on the go, has a back light and color, can hook up to the TV as a regular Genesis, and that was before the Game Boy Color.

  • I love nentando much than the sega CD, sega genesis & the sega 32x ^^

  • Sega had the best games around? I'm no fanboy or anything (in fact, my first console was a Genesis), but I seem to recall Nintendo having some awesome games called Mario, Zelda, Metroid, and Castlevania. Also the first Final Fantasy. Oh, and a port of Metal Gear (but let's not talk about that one).

  • @R8erNation636 Except Castlevania isn't a Nintendo series. The Genesis had Castlevania games too. Just because there are games on a Nintendo console, it doesn't mean they are Nintendo's games.

  • "There is no Nintendo CD"

    CD-I Anyone?

  • Turbo CD came out before the Sega CD. They are acting like they are the first people made CD based console.

  • its funny how there was no nintendo cd before but now sega works for nintendo xD, im not a fan boy im just, trowing that out there =) I had a sega when i was a kid i loved it

  • @AdolphX Sega doesn't work for Nintendo, they are still their own company. They produce games on Nintendo consoles, though, so I guess that's what you are getting at.

  • @Christianrockrockz oh! I didnt knew that I tought they worked for nintendo since a game came out with mario and sonic togheter thnks for the info =)

  • Where did YOU learn to fly?

  • taht shit was $300??

  • Oh yeah hip black dude.. Well.. There is no Sega Wii BOOYAA!!

  • @richycline There wasn't a Nintendo Wii in 1992 either

  • @PrrrromotionGiven That was really just a jab about the console wars. Meaning that Sega lost.

  • it only took nintendo starfox with the fx chip to knock this pussy out of business, not even mentioning donkey kong country and killer instinct

  • @devmiles fuck off it did not

  • Cool guy: There is no Nintendo CD, understood?

Me: Well, I'm glad, 'cause the Sega CD will ruin the Genesis in the future. ;P

    Cool guy: ಠ_ಠ

  • They were making a Nintendo CD, but deals fell through and it was never released. Sony took what they had and created the Playstation

  • Improper CD storage method. That kid is out of his mind!

  • no thre isnt (not untill the gamecube though)

  • Gosh. They act like CD was invented for SEGA Genesis only xD

  • @DragonZord90 your welcome

  • @DragonZord90 I think when people get a game gear these days, they dont relize that its an old machine that will have problems.

I am sure when it came out, it must have been really entertaining to play Sonic on the go and in color.

  • @DragonZord90

The Sega Game gear chewed out 6 AA batts in less than 2 hours... Most of the Games were already on or coming for the Master System... it was huge... Even the Atari Lynx was smaller and that was 16bit.

I had a Game Gear the only real advantage of the game gear was the portable TV tuner... that was awesome for it's time. otherwise the cheaper, longer battery lasting, Gameboy was really the way to go, especially because of the exclusive games.

  • thats what mad nintendo better it did get scratched

  • Sega knew it all along, there was never a Nintendo console that used CDs.

  • @Ycdnre That's because Sony and Phillips pulled out of contracts with Nintendo to produce a CD addon to the SNES. The original Playstation was partially developed by Nintendo.

  • @jameskgeary Now that's something I didn't know about Playstation. :p

  • Ahh, the early 90's! The times were companies could mention other companies in their ads without getting their assholes filled with lawsuits! I miss those times!

  • @DrClay as a nintendo fan i admit that IT SUCKED AND IT WAS A AFAILIURE LIARS CAN DO ANYTHING AND IT SUCKED

  • 11 000 views

  • i want the name of that song in the background, shits brutal

  • @darkryu38

I can't remember the actual song name but the band is naked city.

  • LOL I LIKE THE ENDING WARE HE FALL BACKWORDS ON THE CHIRE

  • That's funny in two ways....one, they're mocking Nintendo for not having a CD-add-on, and Nintendo WAS planning one and it was cancelled. CHA-CHING!!

  • Why they have Sony Fanboy in the Sega Commercial?

  • Sony PS1=Make Sega Die

    Phillips CD-i=Make YTP

    Sega CD=Nothing.

  • @DonkeykongSw2 get ur facts right! clearly it was the ps2 the made sega die not the ps1

  • @DonkeykongSw2

Sony didn't kill Sega. Sega killed themselves through poor marketing and idiotic ideas. They murdered the Megadrive/Genesis with this crappy CD add-on and 32X. I am a massive Sega fan, so don't call me a Sony fanboy, but lets be honest, Sony and Nintendo did it right and continue to do it right today.

  • @DonkeykongSw2 Really? is the father of Saturn and the japanese Chuck Norris: Segata Sanshiro.

  • @DonkeykongSw2 no...that fucking Sony PS2 made the SEGA death....RIP DreamCast

  • @Vesenumber22 SEGA isn't dead, they are still alive and well, they still produce their own hardware, just not home console Hardware, but they produce their own Arcade consoles still, they remain the biggest gaming company in the business and the most dominant in the Arcade world.

SEGA always based their home consoles off of their latest Arcade consoles, hence how SEGA's home console division always got the best Arcade perfect productions.

  • @DonkeykongSw2 Bullshit.

Sega CD = Sonic CD, best sonic game ever, plus Knuckles Chatoix was pretty amazing. Otherwise, yeah, it had a bad library.

  • @BxBright

I made a list of at least 50 decent-great games on the console, which are more games than someone would naturally get (at least back then) during a console's lifetime. Besides Sonic CD, there's Batman Returns, Shining Force CD, Final Fight CD, both Lunar games, Vay, Popful Mail, Flink, the Adventures of Batman & Robin, The Terminator, The Amazing Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin, Lords of Thunder, Earthworm Jim Special Edition & many other good-great games. The basic rule is avoid FMV games

  • @DonkeykongSw2 More like PS2= Dreamcast die, which was the killing blow for Sega.

  • @DonkeykongSw2 All but one being partly affiliated with Nintendo... at first

  • @DonkeykongSw2 Wrong. The ps2 killed sega.

  • @vajksziget7a

The Dreamcast was outselling the PS2 at the time the plug was pulled.

  • @michiyoyoshiku NO NO NO! Do your research! The Ps2 simply killed the Dreamcast because it had a DVD player! And DVD in japan (Japan was very important in the cosole market and it still is) wasn't caught on jet! this was the big selling point of the PS2. Yes the dreamcast sales were very healthy when it first came out. But after sony introduced the Ps2 sales of the the dreamcast were got down..

  • @vajksziget7a

    Reasons the Dreamcast Died

    1. Sega mismanagement

    2. Piracy

    3. Bad decsions on Sega's part

    4. EA Shunning Sega

    5. Bernie Stolar leaving sega JUST before launch

    6. Limited advertising budget

Sony had very little to do with the death of the Dreamcast and anyone saying otherwise is an idiot. Go on my channel and watch the Icons episode about the Dreamcast

  • @michiyoyoshiku The icons episode is saying what i trying to say to you! Yes It hurt to Sega when Bernie leaved. But it wasn't that big problem. He said it himself! The hole episode is about how sony destroyed sega's console business! And I'm not the only one who say that! If you look up everybody is making it the fault of the PS2.Simply Sony Killed Sega's console business.

  • @vajksziget7a

    You're an idiot

  • @DonkeykongSw2

    Sega CD = Make Lunar

  • That was epic.

  • SEGA DOES WHAT NINTENDONT!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yes they have and it called Sony Gaystation and Phillips CD-i

  • THERE IS NO NINTENDO CD, UNDERSTOOD?

  • sonic sez you cant get much more 90's then this

  • is that a naked city song? holy shit

  • lol, sega was so competitive back then. :D

  • there were no Nintendo CD til GameCube then Wii!

  • @BlueSoulJim Nope. They used DVDs, not CDs.

  • So true. There never was a Nintendo CD. Almost, but not quite. The CD system became the Playstation and Nintendo only released a system with mini DVDs and full size DVDs.

  • Sega's got what Nintendon't

  • i heard pingas

  • that is the sega cd prototype?????

  • yep sega was better

  • @prodkill than the tg-16 yes!

  • There is Nintendo GameCube and Nintendo Wii this days.

  • @AlanWarpZone famicon cd system,and the 64 one

  • @deviltetsuo555 thanks for not reading the multiple comments explaining why Nintendo is responsible for all of those formats- please use your brain and read up on the history. Is there anyone other than me commenting that was actually born BEFORE the 8-bit generation?

  • @xxBigBlack09xx You forgot the CD-i.

Nintendo worked with SONY to make a CD-based add-on for the SNES, but the deal never got through. Then, Nintendo went with PHILIPS to make one, but that went through worse, which resulted in the CD-i. Nintendo allowed them to use 5 Nintendo characters, but it seems that they used 6- Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Link, Zelda, and Ganon. Maybe Luigi didn't count?

Oh, and SONY PlayStation? There is a prototype that said Nintendo on it. Running out of characters now...

  • actually there is Nintendo CD its called Sony Playstation

  • @xxBigBlack09xx Nintendo wishes...after the fact. =P

  • @xxBigBlack09xx Correct, sir. Nintendo had hired Sony to create a disk drive add-on for the SNES, but cancelled the project so they could help Philips with the CDI. Because of this, Sony took what they had done so far before the project was cancelled, and turned it into the PlayStation.

  • @xxBigBlack09xx There is a "Nintendo CD" it's called Gamecube

  • @zyber9 GameCube does not work with CDs or DVDs. It works with those small Nintendo GameCube Game Discs.

  • @xxBigBlack09xx

and is the BEST CONSOLE EVER

  • the volume is sooooooo short

  • how ironic, they release games on Nintendo systems now

  • @reggiardito, watch your mouth, use your brain, and read the other comments. The Playstation only exists because Nintendo came to Sony to help create the Cd add-on since they helped with the SNES (the DSP).

Nintendo canned the SNES CD idea, then went to SGI and Phillips to create a CD player (the SGI deal would form the basis of Project Reality/Ultra/N64). Not telling Sony about this and seeing the CD-i prototypes at CES, Sony went and made the PSX.

So really, ALL of those above are SNES CD.

  • In addition, the Playstation prototypes were 16-bit behind closed doors; clearly part of the original Nintendo design Sony worked on.

    Know your roots.

  • the Worst Machine ever

  • There IS a Nintendo CD, five of them actually:

    -Phillips Cdi

    -Magnovox Cdi

    -Goldstar Cdi

    -Sony Playstation

    -Nintendo GameCube

There are even more if you count the other lesser-known brands that produced Cdi models that weren't game players, but still used the same chipset.

  • @TheRealShadowFox Oj for fucks sake.

Philis CD-i wasn't made by nintendo , it just had it's aprooval to use their characters.

The nintendo Gamecube doesn't uses CDs , it uses Mini-DVDs.

And all the other ones aren't even from Nintendo.

SONY PLAYSTATION? EVEN THE FUCKING NAME ITSELF SAYS THAT IT'S FROM SONY , U DUMBFUCK.

  • @TheRealShadowFox

    lol other then gamecube(which doesn't even use cd's) they aren't even nintendo,fail

  • I remember In Living Color.

  • there is a nintendo CD its now called the original playstation

  • @Saloptus It's from Sony , nintendo had nothing to do with it.

  • In theory Nintendo do have a CD console.

  • actually there was a "nintendo cd" they just didn't release it due to disagreements with sony

  • Having a commercial like this air on television would be illegal these days.

  • Of course there is Nintendo CD is called Gamecube!

  • @SuperMrBentley yeah but everyone had CD in the 90's... except for nintendo.. gamecube was the first nintendo cd thing..... well sega cd sucked but atleast it had sonic cd

  • @SuperMrBentley:

gamecube was 2001, segaCD was out in 1992.

  • Shoot the tubes, dogmeat!

  • ...Because it was cancelled

  • "There is No Nintendo CD."

Try Telling That to The Nintendo Gamecube, But That Was 2001, and Nintendo Eventually Had Sega Making Games For Their Consoles.

    But That's Another Story Entirely...

  • @FlyingDuckMan360

yea becuse that was mimi dvd based not cd based dumbfuck

  • What would have been the Nintendo CD became the Sony Playstation when Nintendo's partners decided to go solo.

You don't want to know what happens with that system,Brother from another time period.

  • @EatWave

Actually, Nintendo told Sony to go piss up a rope when Sony wanted a decent cut of the profits from the sales of the games and systems. Nintendo went with Phillips because they were part of the original development group that created the compact disc.

It was that kind of ignorance and pigheadedness that killed Atari, and later, Sega.

Though most of Sega's woes were brought about by Sega of Japan hamstringing Sega of America at every possible opportunity.

  • commercials back then fricken blew your mind

now they try and use corny jokes

  • there technically was a nintendo cd, the philips cd-i. and we all know how much that one sucked

  • How glorious is that CD extracted from the boy's pocket in the firsr seconds?

    Magical!

  • What? Nintendo CD? Microsoft Windows CD? Sony CD? Super Nintendo CD? Asshole CD?

  • There is no Sony CD, Microsoft CD, Macintosh CD. just only Sega CD

  • Yeah, but in 5 years, there is no Sega CD
