whats so funny is duke gets the calls in the ACC, but come tournament time they lose early because they don't have the officiating advantage. Look no further than the duke/wake game. duke shoots more free throws than wake, who is a dribble drive team. duke is a drive and kick team, but mysteriously shoots more ft's than everyone else. The truth is they used to say ALL of the refs were biased in favor of Duke, but now that we have gone out early in the last two tournaments, now it has conveniently changed to only the ACC refs. RME Can't be that we have just been good when we were good, but not-so-good when we weren't. I wish we had that bias. It sure would come in handy some days.

And since Vasquez has had a tencency to let his emotions force silly fouls like that with other teams besides Duke, you shouldn't be surprised. It's pretty obvious that the 2001 Final Four left a foul taste in Gary's mouth. Since then, Duke has been the Terps' National Title game. They get so pumped to play Duke. Steve Blake was never a great 3-pt shooter, but he sunk them left and right against Duke. More recently, Greivas Vasquez isn't a lights-out shooter either (though he's very good), but he can't seem to miss when they play Duke.

Haven't done anything ever? 2001: F4, 2002: NCAA Title, 2004: ACC Title.
Yes, Maryland is not as prestige of a school as Duke, UNC, or NC State when it comes to basketball, but they can hold their own against competition.
