I am from Ghana..This is my opinion regarding james bond movies..... for those who know BOND movies pretty well, there are 4 things that define the typical BOND movie apart from the story line : 1- good looking (CHARMING )bond. 2-sophisticated gadgets. 3- flashy cars & 4- hot women. these 4 things are lacking in the modern day BOND movies starring daniel craig. if these 4 things are lacking in a BOND movie, then it is no longer a BOND movie.. thumbs up if u agree wt me.... i love u all.
I think Daniel is the perfect James Bond. If nobody knew who Daniel Craig was, then watched Casino Royale and then Quantum of Solace, anyone would think his real name was actually James Bond. Thats just my opinion and is driven purely by the sheer amount of times i have watched both films starring Daniel Craig.

For me, I actually really like this James Bond movie and it's guilty pleasure. People will enjoy in the fan base and haters will hate this movie for many reasons, but I will stick up for my taste to the fan base and closely that is good.

This movie wasn't bad. It had good action, a little bit of depth in the whole revenge thing, a fairly good lead female, and I never got bored while watching it. Casino Royale is better, but this one's pretty good too - definitely better than most of the Roger Moore ones. I wish everybody would cut it some slack.

I don't think they will ever stop making Bond films..This franchise can go on for years....as soon as the actor gets old they would just replace with someone younger and as far as the storyling goes they can always make up something...There might even be a "James Bond in Space".!!!!!!!!!
Quantum of Solace is not the worst and is not the best Bond film as it had a political story about when oil runs out and how a big corporation like Greene planet can rule a third world country.
Dominic Greene was a great villain and the action scenes are breathtaking.
If I was to pick the worst Bond film it would have to be Die another day because it was so OTT and deviated from James Bond.
@7RossW yes I do know mate, I've watched the film countless times and it's what James Bond thinks at first that Greene was after the oil when it was Bolivia's water supply he was after.
If you think about it it's water that will be the one resource that will never run out. Just imagine if someone had control over water and if that person wanted, he or she could make the population perish because no one can survive without water. Also water has other purposes that keep the economy going.

In the book Moonraker it's a missile aimed for London and James Bond redirects it to hit the Bond villain who's hiding in a submarine.

Those who hate the Daniel Craig Bond films I think it's because he doesn't use any gadgets well I must say they are forgetting what James Bond is really all about. If they think it's about gadgets, cars and women then they are wrong. James Bond is about politics, eras and feminism, in the Bond books I've read, James Bond rarely uses gadgets he thinks with his brain.

@rooute666 Casino Royale was a reboot of the Bond films. It was basically the start of Bond becoming a double 0 agent. Quantum of Solace continued the story from Casino royale involving the same 'organistaion' of villans. The new film, Skyfall is a stand alone story.

Is it just me or do others miss Pierce as Bond? I mean...yeah Daniel is good, but he doesn't have any humor factor to him. Pierce was cool, slick, bad ass and funny. Daniel is just like....BOOM a loss cannon. Nothing but action. Oh well. As I said he is pretty good :) At least they didn't get someone awful!

Read the books. Ian Fleming wanted the Daniel Craig Bond. Connery was amazing. Pierce was very good. But Craig holds true to the REAL Bond character, which puts him above the other two, at least in my opinion.

haven't really liked Daniel Craig as James Bond. He's too cold and not charming enough. I am a huge fan and I have watched all the Bond films. On top of the fact that craig aint that good is also the fact that Quantum of Solace sucked. What were they fighting over, water or something?? No gadgets and no moneypenny? I fear that they are straying away from the elements that make bond bond and are going for a more bourne identity sort of movie. I dont have much faith in bond 23.

This is merely a comment but feel free to criticize: I believe that Craig is one of the best Bonds simply because he makes us see Bond from a completely different perspective. All the other Bonds were suave, cool, and had technology that helped them get out of even the rarest of situations but these last two films show Bond starting out as 007. This is when Bond was before the adjectives I said above. Casino Royale was an amazing reboot but with Quantum of Solace it made people question Craig.
But those people are not the target audience. This movie is close to art house, and is for those who will think of it as an art, not just entertainment. Gio an get it at filmsi.co.cc. You gonna like it.

Craig simply doesn't work as Bond. The "reboot" has been a huge mistake and James Bond has been stripped of the elements that have made him a pop culture icon. Sure, the films have made money but Bond's distinctive character has been sacrificed in the process. The movies are dull and lifeless. I like Craig as an actor but I look forward to getting Bond back to the suave, sophisticated super-spy he used to be.

It has Craig as 007, but it felt completely different from his two films. I felt like I was watching an amazing pre-Daniel Craig era Bond film like You Only Live Twice or GoldenEye. Granted, it was more Bourne than Bond, but from a movie standpoint it was still above par. It is hard to make a sequel after the excellence that was Casino Royale.
Good film, although the bond feel was kinda lost in all the fast screen flicking, which you would expect in the 21st century. It kinda lacks geography, if you get what I mean... But don't get me wrong, it was an entertaining film to say the least. Though I do. Hope in the next film, they try to return the real bond style.

Where are the gadgets, evil masterminds with their cliché henchmen, bond moments (like straightening his tie underwater during a boat chase), weapons of massdestruction, his funny jokes..... this list is endless

He never turns into the "Bond we all know" either, I just watched this movie for the second time and was even less impressed than the first go. Pierce and Connery were and ARE the best James Bonds.

Read the books. Ian Fleming wanted the Daniel Craig Bond. Connery was amazing. Pierce was very good. But Craig holds true to the REAL Bond character, which puts him above the other two, at least in my opinion.
The Bond you know is pretty much an ascended OOC Bond. That is, "Out of Character".
The real Bond doesn't give a DAMN whether his Martini is shaken OR stirred.

haven't really liked Daniel Craig as James Bond. He's too cold and not charming enough. I am a huge fan and I have watched all the Bond films. On top of the fact that craig aint that good is also the fact that Quantum of Solace sucked. What were they fighting over, water or something?? No gadgets and no moneypenny? I fear that they are straying away from the elements that make bond bond and are going for a more bourne identity sort of movie. I dont have much faith in bond 23.

This is merely a comment but feel free to criticize: I believe that Craig is one of the best Bonds simply because he makes us see Bond from a completely different perspective. All the other Bonds were suave, cool, and had technology that helped them get out of even the rarest of situations but these last two films show Bond starting out as 007. This is when Bond was before the adjectives I said above. Casino Royale was an amazing reboot but with Quantum of Solace it made people question Craig.

Craig simply doesn't work as Bond. The "reboot" has been a huge mistake and James Bond has been stripped of the elements that have made him a pop culture icon. Sure, the films have made money but Bond's distinctive character has been sacrificed in the process. The movies are dull and lifeless. I like Craig as an actor but I look forward to getting Bond back to the suave, sophisticated super-spy he used to be.

@Pacisdiligo I think, or hope, that the new James Bond film will show James Bond as the secret agent we're all used to. Look up the game Bloodstone. It has Craig as 007, but it felt completely different from his two films. I felt like I was watching an amazing pre-Daniel Craig era Bond film like You Only Live Twice or GoldenEye. Trust me, Craig definitely has the potential to be a great Bond. I thought he was great in QoS. The producers are to blame.

Good film, although the bond feel was kinda lost in all the fast screen flicking, which you would expect in the 21st century. It kinda lacks geography, if you get what I mean... But don't get me wrong, it was an entertaining film to say the least. Though I do. Hope in the next film, they try to return the real bond style.

For me the last 2 films had no Bond feeling, just some ordinary action movies.
Where are the gadgets, evil masterminds with their cliché henchmen, bond moments (like straightening his tie underwater during a boat chase), weapons of massdestruction, his funny jokes..... this list is endless

@spindle12 The last to movies weren't even trying to be like that but show the darker, more realistic side of Bond that we saw in the books who was a very dark character with morbid thoughts and struggled with his work. We all love the old, campy Bond but me being a die hard fan of the books have to say that the newer one are my favorite. Thanks for your time. -Killerbumble

This is the story of his beginning, when he is first promoted, and his first love and betrayal and all that. This is what made Bond... Bond. He shouldn't be running around with cutesy little toys, and he looks like an "evil Russian spy" because he's a dark actor, and that is the overall tone of this film.
