  • @weehurrie thanks again for the kind comments, such a fantastic day will stay with me forever, apart from deltic 22 id never seen any of these since the late 70s early 80s at newcastle central, brought back some fantastic memories of wagging it from school going to newcastle to see the deltics, then the deltics slowly stopped commin and the class 43 arrived all the time, thats when i lost intrest, the last couple years especially withh 22 being mainlined has brought my intrest back

  • @twa1638 thanks very much for the kind comments, glad you like the vids , ill be starting to upload progress on my layout soon and ill be catching deltic 22 again in december on the main, it was well worth getting soaking wet for as deltics are my all time fav locos theres just something about them, thanks again

  • @kered43 ahh derek it was fantastic didnt notice if it was raining snowin or what lol, this is only the second time id seen alycidon live so to speak, i only ever did see here once at newcastle in if i remember right 1979, the outhers i seen a few times at newcastle, apart from deltic itself, and of coarse we still see the legend today RSG, but the good news is martin walker is getting gordon highlander back on the main through time, fab news that, it was a good day derek really enjoyed it .hugh

  • Lovely vid Hugh, just wish you had better weather up there. NIce to see 002 rolling around and 019 on power too. I've met Martin too and he seems a very down to earth chap which is really nice. Thanks for braving the North East weather :-)

  • @vorlonb3 no problem russ thanks for kind comments, there was no way i was going to miss this event, martin is a nice bloke and very down to earth, glad we have folk like him preserving these fantastic locos, theres a fundraising campaign now to get gordon back on the main which i think is fantastic news and the dps are deceiding wether or not its viable to get theres back on the main , anyway hope it all pans out well for them and they had good attendences at this event, thanks russ

  • @howarth004 thanks for your kind comments dave, yes it was a bachmann stand as im sure bachmann europe sponsered the event, the dps and deltic 22 stand was there as well, i bought a weathered class 20 and a deltic 22 mug at the event, all goes to keep these fab locos for shows and mainline operations, for once i wasnt shy to part with some money lol, was a great day, thanks dave ....hugh
