I read somewhere that 7-11 was performed live only once by the Ramones on July 4, 1981 at Club Casino in Hampton Beach, NH...i really would love to know if this is true or is someone pulling my leg...
lol no dislikes as of now. I like to see that. The ramones are the best punk rockers to ever live and it is very sad that almost no one but me of this generation reconizes them.
Makes me think of riding mopeds to the 7-11--and we really played "Space invaders"! Got every album and had the pleasure of seeing original Ramones 2ce in concert. I'm old! but happy!
" I met her at the 7-11"....iconic rock and roll at it's best....the Ramones...make you want...to be happy , laugh..and...hit the accelerator,,,,and they.. make you...remember.....the best girlfriend..you ever lost and make you...cry...all...at the same damn time..!!!!!Just as I say Iconic....Rock and Roll!!!!Thank you Ramones...!!!!!and who ever posted this classic..
I love Pleasant Dreams as well. The first three Ramones albums are timeless but I think the Phil Spector/Beach Boys-esque era (End Of The Century & Pleasant Dreams really) are just as good, in a different way. Still punk to me, just mixed more with classic surf music and doo wop. This does have some great pastiche lyrics - "the kids were dancing to the blitzkrieg bop, bop shoo-wop doo-wop doo-wop" and "she was standing by the space invaders, so I said can I see you later" RIP Joey

I think that this Album has to be one of the most important ones that ramones have ever done. The lyrics of each song are quite profund and nice(This song is a clear example of it).
Also They were trying to play a new music although Jonnhy Ramone once said that he din'd like this album because the music was likely to be pop instead of rock.
Love it! (though Joey's voice breaks my heart). Perfectly captures the spirit of late 50s-early 60s teenage love songs like Tell Laura I Love Her but in the Ramones unique style.
Maybe the most underrated song by Ramones, but this is pure gold and thank God, not the only masterpiece from them. After this, you are without any doubt in seventh heaven.PUNK SERBIA!
this song is great... the only thing i cannot understand is the reason why he keeps saying "we WAS young and in love"... shouldn't the right form be "we WERE young"??? maybe if some english-born people could explain it to me, i'd be really glad... =)
I checked Google, I have no idea why it says "was" on most sites. I am 99,9999 % sure that Joey says "were". Listen VERY carefully, you can hear a slight R sound and not an S.
that's true, but, you know, I saw the same "error" with The Clash' single "Bankrobber"... if you have time, search it on utube and listen to minute 1.50 - 2.10, when Strummer says "imagine if all the boys in jail could get out now together, what do you think they'd wanna say to us, while we XXX being clever......... Google says "was", and I must trust it =)
i cant believe its been around 29 years since this album came out.and the ramones were really dissapointed at the album.i dont understand sometimes people.but toi me there is millions of people still now .enjoying these awsome albums works.i mean why being dissapointed?they would never figure out how much they would cause an impact on fans from all generations!!
What ever happened to the radio And where did all the fun songs go Summer fun with the Beach Boys on But we all know what went wrong We was young and in love We was young and in love And you're the only girl I'm ever dreaming of And so we went out to the dance Which turned into a whole romance And after just one night I never thought that things could be so right Oh no-no no no no-no no
I kissed and hugged her and I said goodbye Last thing I knew she wouldn't make it alive Oncoming car went out of control It crushed my baby and it crushed my soul Now all I got is sorrow and pain Standing out here in the rain The crash, shattering glass, the sirens and pain It's driving me insane Oh yeah We was young and in love Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah We was young and in love And you're the only girl I'm ever thinking of (no G here) (repeat this 4x & fade out)
que buena cancion la conoci en el 7-11 me recuerdo mis locuras en phila,pa. downtown 13/walnut st. 1988-89
