At first I thought, what a great little idea, because as a former jeweler, I appreciate lovely artifacts. But then I thought, I don't need that ring because anyone who is around me can figure out pretty quick that (1) I'm Happy, and (2), I'm Available. Oooh, maybe I should market a HA ring :)

The votes are in... She made multi millions with a ring with a unique name. Its the same reason you buy ALL over Tide laundy detergent. It is all about brand management! Try stepping out of the classroom and into the real world.
This is a great story about a ring with no name that came into it own.
Try building a brand and then rethink your comments.

People bought into it because of Oprah. Without the "O" factor it still would be just ring with some cute little diamonds on it. You really think that men are going around checking out women's pinkies to see if they are available? Hell, a wedding ring doesn't stop men from coming on to a woman.
