Banning same-sex marriage has nothing to do with schools, or what's talked about it schools, and it didn't make all the kids with gay and lesbian parents disappear from the face of the Earth. And, Hugh, same-sex marriage also has *nothing* to do with doctors being able to discriminate against gay and lesbian people. In CA, doctors cannot do that, and it has nothing to do with Prop 8 or marriage. It violates our anti-discrimination laws. Some fertility doctor tried to do that a few years ago, and the courts ruled against him. If you serve the public, you can't refuse service to people based on sexual orientation. Again, this has *nothing* to do with marriage rights.

Javier, in California, in 1989. It's called second-parent adoption. Look it up -- this is the way that gay and lesbian couples get legal rights for both of them for their kids. It's been that way for decades. The first one was done in 1985. Like I said before, just because you have some sort of problem with it does not make my parents any less my parents.

I know that in Colorado, all marriages are domestic partnerships, however, not all domestic partnerships are marriages. The realization is that same sex domestic partnerships purchase homes and contribute to the economy as married couples do. Then, even though they cannot be called marriages, they MUST be afforded the same rights, benefits, and yes, penalties as married couples even if there happens to be a symantics issue. Just my point of view as a Christian, married, straight male.

Although homosexuality is at least as heinous as the crime of murder, it can be and is often more heinous than murder. When a person commits the crime of murder, he may not murder but one person and may never commit the crime again. Or even if he murders 10 or a 100 people, at some point his murders stop. But homosexuals often remain such their entire lives and they may commit the act hundreds of time. They may also spread the AIDs virus to many innocent people who may die from the AIDs.

Homosexuality was proven to not be a disorder as soon as the first mental health expert, Dr. Hooker, decided to study the question properly (without using a polluted sample) in 1956. Her research used men without mental illness and was independently verified by three other experts who found homosexuality is perfectly sane. One of those experts was so sure that it was a disorder he did the complete analysis of the data twice before admitting he couldn't find any evidence that it's a disorder.
