no you tune the low E then you tune off of the low E string using the fine fore methed starting on the fith fret its faster just leting you know ill be puting up how to tune an electric guitar soon so look out for it soon

BEGINNERS-

Use an electronic guitar tuner or you WILL break strings.

Use the tuner until you train your ears you hear what the strings Should sound like, then later you can try tuning by ear. Guitar strings have many harmonic overtones that confuse the ear of new players, and truth be told, the Western harmonic tuning system is slightly out of tune anyway. A = 432 Hz, not 440

So for my understanding you have 3,5,7,9,12 and everything below those numbers are frets and a sentence to use to remember the strings is Even After Dinner Giant Boys Eat. This has to do for tuning but what i dont get is A4 the Ais the string that have After and the 4th is the 4th string? Im barely a begginer started yesterday though.

@MrGLENWOOD in a couple months if you practice you should be pretty good. dust in the wind is a pretty good song to learn if you want to learn how to finger pick because it mainly uses novice chords like g and c... if you told me what kind of chords you played i could tell you if you were advanced or not.. but thats only if you want
