i have to agree with so many people on here. My brother went to Iraq not once but twice. He lost alot when went to Iraq, he has lost more then more then any of us will ever lose in our life time. Many people have been lost for this war but i have one question what are we fighting for ask your self that and you will see deep in your heart we are fighting for freedom. But freedom has a very strong price but many are willing to sacrifice so much for us even though we do nothing but let them fight.

I did not know the true definition of the word hero.....my friend Dennis was serving in Afghanistan with the 102 field artillery unit out of MA. He was struck and mortally wounded by an IED, he passed away due to injuries sustained 12:59 germany time, 3-31-11.
...i now know the definition of that word....Dennis Poulin ,may this hero not ever be forgotten but immortalized by our memories.
My cousin's boyfriend will probably be shipped off to Afghanistan. I never really got to know him but he was the nicest person I've ever meet I pray for his safety when he does get shipped over there be safe Mark.

As a Navy SARC and the father of a fallen Marine, I can only say that through training and dedication we did not lose the amount of people we did in Viet Nam at the same time period. The casualty list is always horrible, even if it is just one, but thank G-d for well trained troops, G-d bless The Marine Corps for keeping us free, G-d bless all warriors who go knowing they might not come back. apparently 43 people dont have respect for the usa. where these people gave the ultimate sacrifice so they could dislike something like this in a country that our soldiers fight for so we can be free.

As a Navy SARC and the father of a fallen Marine, I can only say that through training and dedication we did not lose the amount of people we did in Viet Nam at the same time period. The casualty list is always horrible, even if it is just one, but thank G-d for well trained troops, G-d bless The Marine Corps for keeping us free, G-d bless all warriors who go knowing they might not come back. Bravery is being scared, but going anyway...One is too many, but more will be neccesary. Semper Fi.....

I know what its like to lose a loved one to the armed forces and what a sacrifice and a gift they give to us all. It changes every thing when u lose someone u love. I think it has been the hardest thing I have ever to deal with and I am still dealin with.

@antoine06066 I hope i can help explain, i have been to 2 funerals of home town friends, and yes its just a flag, but what it symbolizes is something so much more though it is not a consolidation for losing the one we love, I myself am ABH3 Hayes in the Navy and i understand, i agreed with u, but we all know what we got ourselves into, and i know they would give their life again to know their family is safe. And thats all there is.

I am a retired Fire Captain. One of the proudest moments of my carreer was when I marched into Madison Square Garden to Honor my Brothers. Now I Honor my other Brothers and Sisters. May they all rest in the arms of the angels.

Actualy I have no control over the up or down votes. If the comment has 5 positive comments then someone does not like the comment and they check thumbs down then it will show as 4 postive comments and will keep on going like that until it gets into the negative. Hope I cleared that up 4 you.
