  • Be cautious being outside if there is a storm withing 15-20 miles. The feeders are highly dangerous

  • this happened behind our house and there was bark shrapnel everywhere

  • Why can't I watch a lightning video without a dumb ass Chuck Norris comment?

  • THIS SUCKS I WANTED TO SEE A TREE BOMB GO OFF!!!!

  • @xTheDeathSaintx Fuck you and what you wanted to see.

  • I wonder how long it would take to get the maple syrup off of everything...

  • Doc: The only power source capable of generating 1.21 gigawatts of electricity is a bolt of lightning.

    Marty: What did you say?

    Doc: A bolt of lightning.

  • WTF? did you stop time to film this??? 1:22- 1:30 no one freaking moved! AT ALL!!! O.o

  • @lefebvrer3289 1.21 GIGAWATTS sticks in my mind more than the next bit

  • @lefebvrer3289 : lrn2science :

    Giga : A billion.

Watt : A unit of energy. Your kitchen light bulb uses about 100 of them per hour .

1 Gw : enough energy to light 1 kitchen light bulb for 10 000 000 hours - or about 1000 years if my math is correct.

  • ROFLBTSBYHLSSTOW - Roll On Floor Laughing But Then Stop Because You Hear Lightning Strike Tree Outside Window.

  • Poor Subaru :(

  • That tree is now an example of God's awesome power!

  • @989787777778787 No, an example of lightning's awesome power. Why doesn't your god cure cancer, or stop little kids from being raped if he's so powerful?

  • @989787777778787 STFU stupid

  • The power output of the same lightning is comparible to... the friction created by chuck norris masturbating

  • This video sucks.

  • tree: "Nah f#ck that"

  • That poor poor GC8 :'[

  • Nice Fart Canon at :44

  • pussies never saw a tree explode....tsss tsss tss

  • hey u lied this is just a video of a book

  • This video ought to be banned.

Why? you ask? Well it might give those terrorists ideas. They'll be able to make bombs out of ordinary trees. And that might lead to a world-wide ban on trees. Terrible situation that would be.

  • Well. Damn. :o.

  • at least no one was hert oh wait i can comferm so body was dead

  • sonnnavabitch

  • 219 people got hit by it

  • omg my b-day is aug 26

  • this is admittedly very interesting, but in reality i would have preferred to read it in an article or blog...

  • lesson: dont piss god or chuck norris off.

  • this happened to me while smoking a bowl it woke me right up. i looked out my bedroom window to see what the hell it was and there was all these pencil sized splinters in my window screen. pause at :20 1.21 Gigawatts MAAAAAAARTY.

  • this happened to a tree outside my bedroom window i was taking it easy toking a bowl and BOOOOOM woke me right up. my bedroom window was open and i moved my curtain to see what the hell it was and there was fifty pencil sized splinters in my screen. i got lucky the screen stopped my tree was completely splintered.

  • pretty sure the fart cannon on that WRX caused the tree to blow up

  • Good , I hate maple trees

  • @RReaper100

Well, the lightning turned that maple tree into sugar. Not all of it of course, as it was the super-boiled sap that crystallized into sugar. Didn't you hear about people coming up to that struck-down tree with their cups of tea and teaspoons, and helping themselves to some nice, nature-made maple sugar?

  • hope they have insurance!

  • this is some funny ass shit

  • a tree in our back yard was recently struck by lightning. probably a 80 or 90ft slash pine. Half of the back was blown off the tree and it is cracked right down the middle all the way up. 5 windows on the back of the house were broken and the telephone and cable boxes were blown off the house. Many of our electronics in the house were fried. when you witness its immense power first hand you have a new respect for it.

  • @emutiny I completely agree with you on that one, alot of people just dont understand how powerful and dangerous a lightning bolt can really be.

  • damn!

    yes lightning is immense powerfull

  • i woulda been laughing soo hard

  • @pendejadafcc hahahaha same here i luaghed my ass off wen i saw this

  • The terrible results of Nature's RAW POWER.

  • When I was a kid the local park had a oak tree stump in it. The tree had been planted in bloody Mary’s’ time to replace all the wood used to burn protestant heretics. A local jock as lots of locals had been burned at the stake in that time. The tree was hit in the winter of 1922 and bits of it killed two sheep over two hundred feet away. You can still see the damage on the walls of the house that got hit and its over thirty yards from the tree.

  • 1.21 Giggiwats!

  • I saw an oak get hit by lightning where I live. It shredded a portion of the tree away and blew some of the root structure out of the ground. The culprit from your video must have been a "positive" strike to do that much damage. I think only a few percent are this type.

  • we also have a split in half tree in our backyard because of a lightning strike

  • i was fifty feet away from a tree that did this. i was inside next to a woindow, the window was shattered from a peice of debri

  • Tree got pwned

  • those are some big toothpicks

  • Jihad tree....

  • A similar thing can happen in extreme cold, the sap and moisture in the tree freezes, expands, has nowhere to go so it ruptures the tree. Usually more like a gun shot than an explosion though.

  • Stump: Not Available for Photo.

  • fµ(k ¥0µ

  • thats one big splinter

  • anyone else see that fart can on that subby

  • fuck

  • YEAH!!!! FAKE BOMB TREES!

  • @cascada1888 lol JK it looks kind of real but IDK lol

  • @cascada1888 that is very real. i saw a tree get struck by lightning too but it didnt explode like this one did.

  • @94Darkstar I kno that thats why I siad later on that I was jk and it did look real durrr

  • We have the a bomb the h bomb the f bomb and now the t bomb

  • just imagine telling your insurance that s tree blow up and sent chunks of tree into your house i wonder if they will then your full of shit..........

  • @GamingMaster100, only if the insurance agents are rednecks XD

  • @SpiritsoftheWolf LOL :D

  • sucked to be that tree

  • noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo that dear subaru, fuck you tree!!!!!

  • pics or it didnt happen

  • not always the case ,not every lightning is the same strong

i have see it from 30 meters distant on a regular tree and it was not exploded

at all, the tree was burned and damaged

  • that'll teach a tree for mouthin off to God! ^_^

    J/K, folks

  • can you imagine having to explain that to the wife?!

  • can you imagine having to explain that to the wife?!

  • Poor Subaru.

  • five words

    "insurance better cover your ass"

  • NOT THE WRX!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOO

  • @dbray1 impreza

  • How much more evidence do you need that it is unwise to shelter under a tree during a storm?

  • Actually, lightning isnt "cloud to ground." It actually starts from the energy on the ground instead of in the sky.

  • "8 foot stump"? Weird. That used to be my AOL screen name.

  • Our big oak tree in our front yard was struck by lightning three times......he had this big black streak going down the side of it.

  • the sap in pines and maples contains water which gets instantly vaporized when lightning strikes the tree...hence those two types of trees are most likely to go BOOM (as opposed to others which will split sometimes and have a chance of surviving a lightning strike.

And thats my weather trivia for the day ;-)

  • holy fuck.

  • ITS REVENGE OF THE PIKACHU!!!

    :O

  • same thing in cape coral FL 2 years ago....damaged several homes. Pine tree exploded like a bomb....crazy!

  • Originally a Maple, now it's an Ash.

  • yessssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @GRAHAMAUS LOL! good one!

  • I seen something like this in 1972 . Very impressive results of energy released.

  • very educational, thanks a lot mate :)

  • A less dramatic lightening strike happened at my place yesterday early in the morning. If a neighbour hadn't seen it, could have started a bush fire.

  • Lots of people don't know this. If you don't get killed by lightning, the the exploding crap will kill you. I see this alot.

  • now thats just crazy! a maple tree turns into a bomb because of lightning?! suprising what lightning can do!

  • No the sientist say the lightning centains 100,000,000 million volts not a billion.

  • roll on floor laughing :D

  • HOLY CRAP !

  • I said the same thing when I saw this...

  • And this is WHY you dont run for cover under a "Tree" durring a lightning storm. Great video.

  • LOL thats why ma always said that lol :) XD

  • HOLY SHIT!! Hopefuly no one got hurt.

  • @1:23- what remains of the tree stump near the tractor.

  • I blame the terrorists.

  • 1.21 GIGA WATTS

  • Exactly what I was thinking. n.n

  • the impreza looks alright, cept for spoiler damage, from what I can see.

  • wood ..anyone? good for fireplace:)

  • goodness gracious!!! the power of lightning is awesome!

  • That sucks. Poor little Subaru. I love that car.

  • Brought Frankenstein to life as well..

  • lesson, dont put trees into microwave

  • @bbytew Is it a good idea to microwave it, the answer is no it's a BAD IDEA

  • @bbytew lol

  • This was no doubt a POSITIVE lightning strike. These strikes can contain more then 340, 000 amperes or 1 billion volts which in return creates deafening thunder. They are rare and only make up 5% of all strikes in a storm and because of this positive its likely the THUNDER was just as impressive as the strike. The thunder was FOR SURE devastating. Also combined with the explosion of the tree it wouldn't surprise me if a few windows near by cracked.

    Thunder is impressive....

  • I agree, a normal strike just strips some bark off and possibly lights the tree on fire, I have seen many trees that have been hit by lightning. 100% accurate.

  • @ sicilian12345

Exact that I think too.We call then here Cold and Hot Lightning. This was definitive at Hot one. Here in a Village not far away a Hot lighting hit a House. After the Hit there was nearly all the whole Roof Bricks down. That in some Milliseconds. They have lcu kthat the Firefighter wher fast there and can Check the House for Fire. But there was no.But all Electric cabels and electronic device where Broken or melt.

  • Holy shit!

  • I hope the 2dr Impreza was ok!

  • Lighting strike temperature are about 30,000 degrees C!!

  • Lightning took out a tall tree in my backyard, and the same thing happened, wooden shrapnel all over the yard. It happened late at night, and we were all indoors safe from all that flying crap. The lightning strike did burn out several light bulbs in the house. Nothing else damaged, but this, back in the early 60's there were no computers and such in the house to blow up back then.

  • Sounds incredible but I have seen similar cases enen with one meter diameter trees looked like a peeled banana after the strike, believe me it was impressive

  • thats crazy iv only had it split trees in half ( makes it easier on the chainsaw lol)

  • How could anyone think this is fake......

CLEARLY its not and the lightning bolt was indeed a "positive cloud to ground strike" the most deadliest of strikes which also cause the deadliest of thunder.

  • Lightening is the only thing that can get away with destruction of property lol.

  • shutup lame ass stop laughing at your own fucking jokes bitch

  • yeah and the insurance company can get out of paying for damages by declaring an "act of God." How convenient.

  • you did know this right?

  • Holy fucking shit. All I have to say.

  • why do some people have trouble believing this that what trees do when hit by lightening..it superheats the sap causing the tree to explode ..go learn some science instead of just doubting

  • uttery rediculous

  • that has got to be the craziest lightning strike i ever seen

  • This is why you don't seek shelter under a tree in the middle of a storm!!!!!!

  • dont water + electricty make Hydrogen??? that would definately make enough explosive power to do all that... i HIGHLY doubt that steam could do that much damage.... but Hydrogen... DEFINATELY!

  • steam takesup more space than water so it blows the tree up

  • ever seen a boiler blow up ? ( steam is just as powerful)

  • damn

  • I trees infront of my house and on the side, despite the danger i go outside on my porch to watch and listen to them.

  • NOT THE CAR!!!!

  • Ahh poor tree...

  • man i wish that would happen to my cottonwood, fucking thing getting pollen all over my fucking truck. I fucking hate trees...SHIT!!!!

  • Thats the craziest lightning strike I've ever seen

  • Another reason to move indoors and away from windows during thunder storms...

  • your subaru needs some rims and a greddy sp2 cat-back exhaust.
