I think that Cowboy Bebop, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, Ninja Scroll and Black Lagoon are all really good anime. Basilisk was also alright but I wish it had some more fighting in it.

If you or anyone else may know of some similar anime please let me know. I've seen many but I probably missed a few good ones that I didn't know of.

@mikeschmeee Actually, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, Ninja Scroll and this skit was directed by the same man, Yoshiaki Kawajiri. You might like his works in Highlander: The Search for Vengeance and Goku Midnight Eye.

On the same vein with the concept you mentioned, I recommend African Samurai and Shigurui.

@mikeschmeee Unfortunately in the plethora of anime being released since 2YK, the chances of finding a well directed with an in-depth storyline series is approximately having the same chances in betting all your money on a single no. in a roulette as size as Cosmo Clock 21. But comparison to the animes coming out these years, Ergo proxy and Claymore are the most notable ones-- ( similarly according to the art style you've been looking to ).

Does anyone know what other anime titles are out there that are VERY similar to this style of anime? Swords or guns but this type of art style?
