NO NO NO NO NOOO!!! PUT ON SOME MUSIC && IT'LL SHAKE HIS HEAD TO IT, NO KIDDING! it's really cute, if you know who dan sperry is, the magician, then you know how his bird spike does it all the time haha :P
Ha Ha, these birds are awesome! There was one named Molly that would trurn his (so many make birds with femal names LOL) head and walk back and forth saying "whats the matter molly" and would do this every time we walked away. And, this bird LOVED the camera. They like to show off their feathers, they are very much show offs and so beautiful. I wish I could have one they are just loving and i could spend hours with them.
@OFFICIALreaper5 well duh, that what usually happens with a one bird household, YOU become their mate, and its not a bad thing, you just like trolling on peoples video's, this isnt the first time ive seen you leave an ignorant comment.
I took care of a moluccan cockatoo for years, he said my name, he was such a sweetie, he rang like a phone, 5 am "squaghaaaahahahaha!!!" He would bob around like that all the time too, and I was never teasing him, he was a big baby who just loved to dance!!:D Beautiful birdie btw :) When Thor was scared or startled he poofed up really large and hissed.. this bird doesnt look intimidated at all.
I used to have a Moluccan named IV, she used to say "Pretty birdy birdy bird" and
"How you Doin? How you doing Baby Bird" I miss her so much.... unfortunately we gave her up to a couple thinking it was the best thing for her with the condition that if they did not want her to give her back, instead they sold her to someone else and never told us who. We lost her and miss her so much.
lol..My M2 PrincessPeaches loves your vid...she starts acting like Zoey everytime she sees your video..M2s rock! i have a video of my M2 imitating zoey..i posted it earlier...
I would say this bird can't have add cuz she keeps u all laughing. My m2 does this all the time, you might want to saw of those peices of wood that stick up so he don;t knock him selfout. lol Cute bird.
xD I have an umbrella cockatoo. She does this too. She also cusses ._. and her scream is annoying... I can hear it two streets over. But I love the funny bird.
zoey is so cute when my 2 use to do that we called it bad bird dancing. That was when we knew he was feeling crazing. We lost our baby 6 months ago. Cherish every minute even the ones that you want to choke them!!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
U clearly are just trying to get attention , cause all parrots act like that , they dont have A.D.D either , i have the same bird , a mollucan cockatoo. And ive had it for 10 years.
Cockatoo's and even all parrots are very difficult to take care of. They are, in fact, very noisy and need constant attention. Also, they are very expensive to buy and very expensive to maintain.
eclectuses aren't too bad. the females are friendly to everybody "even strangers" and they aren't too loud. cockatoos, greys, and macaws are a different story though.
@scarletboa@scarletboa Female eclectus parrots (the red and purple one) are probably the single most UN-friendly pet parrot. Not only are they unfriendly to strangers, they are often unfriendly to everyone. The males (green) are much friendlier. Greys are noisy? If you can't put up with their noise, I don't see how you could keep any parrot. They chatter and sing and make the sounds they hear, but they don't scream and squawk incessantly for no apparent reason.
Moluccan cockatoos are very prone to plucking due to their highly emotional nature. They get stressed easily when changing owners, not getting enough sleep, exercise or proper diet. This one looks like it is over preening its feathers, which leads to feather plucking. Please take care of this bird. They are high maintence pets, do your homework.
Just a guess do you think the bird perhaps the bird is recovering from feather destructive behavior because he is now with an owner who takes care of him properly? If you saw my rosebreasted cockatoo you would scold me if you didnt know the entire story. There is a great deal of story you dont know about to make such judgements
I don't think I was making judgements.Somewhere I read that this bird was recently acquired and trying to do some education. Bird rescues across this country are full of Moluccan cockatoos with emotional problems and plucking issues from mulitple re-homing. I stand by my statement to do your homework before you adopt one. Moluccans are gorgeous but expensive, messy, destructive and need much more time than most people can give.
@TheSoSoAgnostic I dont believe I ever wrote parrots shouldnt be kept as pets, I advocate adopting from rescue rather than purchasing from the pet trade
@pattyinla I can see now you meant M2s. Everything that can go wrong went wrong in my life - in a huge way, and I had to sell my M2 and 2 Macaws (I still have a lesser sulfur crested) (I had a list of health problems, from Lyme disease to a brain tumor, my husband tried to kill me, went to jail for attempted murder, which stopped the spousal support). I cried for months, but my son and my neighbors were thrilled, and it was the M2 they were glad to see go, not the Macaws.
@TheSoSoAgnostic I just reread my comments - I was referring to Mollucan too's being kept as pets. They are the most difficult of all parrots and require more time than most people can give them so they are very prone to feather destructive behaviors. Many avian experts share my opinion that specifically mollucan cockatoos should not be kept as pets
@Veggie1964 I was going to say the same thing, that the bird looks like it's over preening or chewing his feathers. I had an M2 that did that. I sprayed him with aloe juice and chamomile tea. For a while I put Listerine in the mix as advised, but I came to believe that was a bad idea as it was very drying. He did eventually stop, but I think it was because he got VERY ill (West Nile Virus), and too weak to preen, had an amazing recovery and never went back to the chewing.
Some birds just like to display, if this bird was pissed off it would be hissing. If he was frustrated he would be agressive and screaming. It seems happy enough to me.
the behavior the bird is exhibiting in this video isnt cute, you are ignoring the birds body language. the bird takes an aggressive stance because you are banging on things and getting the camera far too close to the bird for the birds comfort.
thanks for the guess but the bird was doing this already on its own with no help, but thanks for assuming he was being teased, this is a very loving and smart bird with a great personality, so dont guess! Thanks.
You obviously don't know much about cockatoos. I'm growing tired of seeing uneducated people that think they know something, leaving comments when they know nothing about what they are saying.
@akzcarpenter0869 God you really don't know a thing about cockatoos, do you. How do you have the nerve to make that comment knowing you know nothing about them? I don't believe parrots are that fragile. M2's especially. I saw a real case on one of those autopsy shows where a guy was beaten to death and analysis of the crime revealed that his M2 fought to the death trying to save his loved one, but failed.
@TheSoSoAgnostic At some point the murderer cut off the bird's foot, but that didn't stop the bird.
They were able to convict the guy because - I forget what it was, the door knob maybe - they had a blood sample that turned out to be a mixture of his and the 'too's blood, and when they found the guy, his head was a real mess.
In prison he was known pejoratively as the Bird Man, since the bird got him convicted.
@akzcarpenter0869 Yeah, this is actually pretty common behaviour for cockatoos... not an indication that she's upset. They adore attention, and the family is well known for the bobbing dance thing.
Now just add some METALLICA music, and you've got ONE rocking, head-banging bird! ROCK ON!
