  • What is the difference between the two options for "Where is...?" (at 0:30) The second verb is from the essential "to be" verb, but the first one looks like a form of "to have." What am I missing?

    Thanks for the help!

  • hi the first one yet alle u can use to ask where is somethin or where is someone(male) and the second one yet new( where is it( a thing or someone(male).

  • Thanks for the reply, Astwa2. :) I really appreciate your help!

    I guess I'm still not sure about the difference, though...

    Can "alle" also mean "he/it has" or does it only mean "he/is is"?

  • In Amharic there is so word "it" as there is in english. things are called just things there is no " it". we just say the thing mosly masculine. so in the video u hear her say yet alle? yet means where. so alle can be for a thing or person ( male only). in a way she is asking depending situation where is he/ the thing she is seeking. to say where is it? u say yet(where) alle? then next to alle u put whatever thing u are asking to find ? hope this helps.

  • Ibakiah and tekeet is when the male is asking to get a ticket for himself ?

  • yes when the male is being asked! if it is female being asked for ticket it is ibakish with "shhhh" for male is just hh

    ibakon "kon" is for elderly formal

  • yet alle' == where being

    where is it being / where is he being

    yet new == where is

    where is it / where is he
