  • Yes sir!! I practice that technique too..

  • I just uploaded a video explaining head position and pressure. It also contains some drills. Hope this clears up any confusion about how to proper complete this.

  • This video should be called " how to get caught in a Guillotine Choke"

  • is see the choke that is gonna cause his oppenent more pain in the future

  • set up is cool show me away with out a knee drag maybe? concrete is a bitch sometimes.

  • I like this explanation a lot. I would like to see also one leg take down setup and setup with leg kick.

  • gdo you can tell he never wrestled, thats such a brutal double!

  • alright this helped. im a wrestler and i was havin trouble incorporating my wrestlin into my mma. so this helped. thanks.

  • I see a guillotine choke in his future... pause on 1:17

  • For double legs you do not have to position your head on the inside. And to avoid the guillotine you keep your head high, meaning that you need correct posture. Correct posture is keeping your head up and facing straight ahead.

  • Head high and straight ahead? Perfect position for getting guillotined! Keep your head tucked and shoulders up (turtle) with your outside arm high with lots of pressure of the side of your head against their hip. This eliminates the space they need to slip their arms inside yours for the guillotine. No space = no guillotine. Head high (exposing neck) = guillotine.

  • If the guy shooting dumps the guy to the correct side, he will land in side control, or worst case scenario... half guard. Even if his neck gets caught in a guillotine, no competent grappler is going to get submitted by a guillotine in half guard (unless he dumps him to the wrong side), and the guy shooting would just pass to side control if the other person hangs onto the guillotine (which is an rookie mistake to begin with).

  • Nah, the rookie mistake is to leave your head up like that when shooting. I competent BJJ will be on the guillotine and pull full guard as they are being taken down - setting the trap. Classic trap against the wrestler, and it happens all the time...

  • @grappleorwrestle not true. posture is more important than having a high head

  • @prebirth91 Keeping your head high is part of your posture. They go hand in hand.

  • ya but you gotta be careful cause you could get caught in a darce choke.

  • If you ask me Guillotine chokes are more of a greeting than they are a submission, I'd be interesting in seeing what their percentage success rate is.

Personally, when I shoot for a double leg, I go down on one knee and have my head at their hip. Too low down to be choked. Though my Wrestling isn't really my strong point, so if anyone has a reason why I shouldn't do it that way, I'd like to know about it.

  • 3 guillotine submissions in UFC 100. You cannot be too low to be choked. As you drive through the double leg, they will either sprawl or curl over your back. Either way their arms are now in the perfect position to guillotine IF they get their arms inside yours. The guillotine is a commom reaction to the double, so speed and keeping tight (protecting the neck) is key. Most people cannot finish a guillotine without having both arms in, so just make sure at least one side is protected.

  • @marcusorilius not really a either inexperienced wrestler or an experienced wrestler will do that 1 if your experienced you dont care if they guilotine you because your that expierienced every double leg will end up in side control and its even good if they try guilotiine it means they arent defending the take down and this video isnt that good it doesnt show you how to get the angle and his knee and head arent deep enough

  • @bigguvnor - that used to be good but cody mckenzie's guillotine changed everything now! damn....

  • @marcusorilius with better head drive and good finish where you drive the guy to the side onto his side rather than back you can avoid it mostly. head on blast doubles with the head to the side can lead to the guillotine

  • I need help on this move because I always have to sparr this fat kid that always sprawls on me....any advice?

  • yeah, don't use a double leg. Use a single leg and run the pipe. Basicly dumping them. ;-)

  • yh try double steppin through

  • spin a little or "turn the corner" as soon as you make contact

  • its easier to take sum1 down like that if you push youface into their chest try it

  • the guy duz look pretty sleepy auctaully. No offense.

  • he is bout to fall sleep?

  • yeah

  • no he is blind

  • he on heroin.

  • hes blind

  • not at all BITCH!!! shut the fuck up he would whoop your ass!!

  • hey may beat me up, but he is still sounds gay.

  • I don't like trying to lift with my left shoulder as shown here. Nice idea with the double left jab then dropping to the left shoulder, but I prefer an overhand right. Not a straight right as momentum is forward. With an overhand right, your shoulders momentum is dropping down, which sets you up in a lower stance. Provided you miss with your right, your ready to shoot into a double leg. I've got myself out of some messy situations with the ground and pound and when outnumbered ground and run.

  • True, and you use every advantage you are give. People are gifted in different ways. To compete in a sport at a level high enough to be financially rewarding, you have to work hard and be gifted. Hard work alone is not enough for most sports including MMA.

  • @ThePainFactoryCom true to a point. but hard work accounts for more than you give it credit for.

  • I have a friend that has never failed. His secret is, he never sets goals. If you don't have anything; Don't want anthing; Why do anything. I don't know you or what you've seen. I do know that even coming from a supportive family, it is hard to get a good education in an inner city school. I do know that poverty sucks. I know that people are gifted differently. If you are gifted with your mind, you use it to get out. If you are gifted with your hands, you use them.

  • Bro, like I said before, watch the rest of my vids or visit the site. Find out what I'm about before you before you post. ThePainFactory is about the struggle to be something when you are born nothing. Look at all the Champions that had to fight their way up from poverty and abuse. If you want to make blind post well... hmmm.. just go ahead

  • Don't know who you are classifying as "you guys" How about you watch the rest of my videos. This is a exert from my one of my MMA Road Trip stops, why not watch the rest of my vids before you make a comment like "you guys" maybe find out what I'm about first.

  • I will past that on to Jason. Do you still train at 4s.

  • What do ya know, I took bjj from this guy at 4seasons. You seem as if you are doing well for yourself, you were a good teacher.

  • This is from my MMA Road Trip. I will be posting more vids from different places. First I will post the whole vid then I will break it down into the techniques that the guy showed like this one. -David
