  • Pretty cool video. This looks like some fun printing to do. I'd love to spend more time doing prints like these. Screenprinting rules! ☠

  • can you just use a window screen?

  • Where yu get the big Thingy? The screen?

  • What if you want to do more than one color? All responses welcome. Please reply directly.

  • hello there awesome vid, I was just curious to know where can i buy the ink? do you think michael's or joann's have it? thank you, love u guys :D

  • what fabric u use for the screeen and what kids of paper is that

  • organza and chiffon fabric also work really well instead of a screen. bubzbeauty has a really simple screen printing tutorial

  • a screen? what is that and where can i get one?

  • Comment removed

  • Awesome no need for Emulsion! This should work with more simple images.

  • finally none of this expensive light emollient silk screening business! we's poor folk who want to make and sell enough t-shirts to call it a real day job!

  • Im definitely going to try this I have a roll of contact paper just laying around my room now.

  • so can you use like a window screen or does it have to be special

  • omg i luv the tampon

  • i have to try it this way

  • what is the screen?

  • the screen is silk that is streched tight

  • i screen print t shirts all the time know because of this video but cleaning the screen takes so long. what is the best way to clean it?

  • does anyone know any other videos matt stinchcomb is in he's so funny

  • What is the best ink to use on t-shirts? Where can I buy it?

  • Plastisol inks are the most durable and can be easily purchased online. You will need to cure the ink at about 320 degrees F using an oven or flash cure unit.

  • they have a sound problem... the thing in the beginning

  • what is the screen made of?

  • It's probably nylon.

  • Screens are usually an aluminum frame with polyester (some times nylon) fabric stretched tightly and evenly over the frame. There are different mesh counts (read frequency of holes) that can vary the way the ink prints.

  • silk

  • ROFLROFl tampon that was sOOOO funa

  • the problem i have with screenprinting is doesnt it come off when you wash the shirt? thats the reason i dont try it... T_T

  • it's not supposed to come off. that's the point.

  • whats the difference from screen printing and stenciling (using fabric paint)?

  • screen printing allows you to duplicate the exact image many times over and over again perfectly....think tee shirts. stencling, you are doing over a stencil and it may not be the same everytime.

  • the screen will last longer than the stencil, so you can mass produce. but if it's just for one personal shirt the stencil will work and it won't cost as much.

  • what kind of ink is that?

  • where can i get the screen?:/

  • try your local craft store

  • i use house paint instead of the expensive silk screen ink.

  • uhm...what do you mean house paint, the stuff you paint your walls with?? can you use that for fabric, and then still be able to wash it?

  • yeah it won't come out when you wash it- it stains your clothes. I've used it to paint directly on clothes before too but then it get's too thick and makes the fabric stiff but if you silk screen it on it turns out perfect. it shows up better than some of the expensive silk screening ink i've bought.

  • hmmm...thats very interesting to know, might have to check into that. is there any specific paint, and or methods of doing it?

  • i just get the house paint at Lowe's and for even cheaper paint they have discounts on paint that people mix and then don't want. You can use any kind of paint that stains your clothes though. the method is the same as using the ink- use the squeegee and don't run it too many times to where it bleeds out (not staying in the lines of the stencil) and don't do it too less to where it doesn't cover all the area of the design.

  • cool...im definitely going to try that, because the paint i was using didnt hold up to the machine when washed.

  • yeah same here. especially the white ink on black fabric. let me know how it works out for you. you should post pictures somewhere of what you made.

  • she's genious! i've never thought of using contact paper, man that would save so much money!

  • Hmm I thought that photo paper to iron on designs was the cheap and easy way to go but now I'm goin to search for that video with the mod podge technique.

  • mod podge works pretty well. i have been doing it for a few months.

  • Hey, cheers for this. Really helped out. Ill try it later tonight.

  • effin sweeeeet! i never thought about using contact paper like that :D

  • that seems so much easier than the photo emulsion technique (if you can't afford a light box thingy

  • WHat kind of screen is she using?

  • hehe... lovin' the giant tampon.

i so want the janome :-P

  • omg that's brilliant :D

  • JFKLD;ASJFLKDS. D: I've been doing the whole embroidery hoop version! This is so much easier!!! /wrist

  • DUDE.

I NEED TO MAKE MY SISTER A GIANT STUFFED TAMPON!! Then sew on some bloodstains and write a little caption... heehee thanks threadbangers!! XD

  • I am so sad...I've seen all of the videos and am now having withdrawls... I love you guys!! Thanks for the inspiration and keep it up

  • Corinne you hair looks mad sexy. I love it! :D

This video was really helpful. Emulsion screen printing is such a hassle.

  • Corinne don't listen to people who knock your style, expressing your own style makes the world go round...unless you wear skinny jeans with the croch down to your knees that's just unforgivable....hehe, keep up the great work, I love your show. X Ab

  • Awesome vid. You guys should put up the links shown in the video on the description side. It would be helpful!

    gogol bordello!

  • Great idea, we used to do that but we got lazy! I'm working on adding the links now! :) THanks for the tip!

  • More about screen printing, yay, good! But this tutorial in particular, meh... Left me with a lot more questions than answers..."get a screen" or "apply the ink" okay, but where do I find it, how much is it, can I make it myself?

You pointed to other resources in a blindingly fast afterward, different ways to DIY this that are more plausible for the average viewer, and I intend to check them out...that's good. But methinks this particular video was not a very useful episode.

  • HAHA i love the dragon commercial.

    you guys are so funny.

  • "if you're like me, you NEVER have a tampon when you need one."

  • Woot! Like your hair, Corinne!

  • why you gotta hate on my stylo?

    xoxo c

  • I happen to love what she is wearing and didn't yo' momma tell you if you don't have anything nice to say don't say it?

  • o.o Could you take the contact paper off and use the screen again for something else?

  • ^_^; Nevermind.

  • what kind of screen is needed for this?

  • that was A LOT of paint to what you'd usually use

  • Really cool, guys, as usual. I luv your hair, Corinne!.

  • What kind of ink and where would i get a screen (and what kind)?

  • Speedball fabric printing ink, and you can eithar make a screen yourself or buy one at a craft store.

  • lmao giant tampon.

  • LOL! "What better way to keep her from the dark side."

  • to me the whole idea of screen printing is being able to add so much detail with one screen because of the photo emultion its a cool idea but its just like stenciling which is a lot of work

  • wow, most amazingness

  • LOL..giant tampon...XD

  • it gets hilarious when that guy said "makes a wonderful playmate for your children"

  • does anyone know what kind of screen you use for screen printing? a link would help

  • Aside from the Lego earrings (which were great,) couldn't Matt have found some even worse examples of rediculous pomo-wanking crap from Etsy to highlight?

    Stupid, and so not funny.

5 stars for the silk screen segment. Brilliant.

  • I'd love a new sewing machine... but I'm just now starting to use the one that my parents got me 3 years ago for christmas. I was never really into sewing until recently.

  • my scarf was only 99% dead ninja

  • I usually can deal with sound being out of sync, but the sound/video being out of sync in this video is REDICULOUS. =/ Could you re-upload this video?

  • i think that might be a problem with your computer. the sound/video isn't out of sync for me.

  • nah man get a less laggy computer =]

    it's perfect

  • what kind of screen and where do we get the ink?

  • You can also use tracing (or any kind of) paper to screen print. Just as long as you have a cool stencil.

  • loving your new hair Corinne :D

  • I liked the jedi thing =D

First really funny thing in awhile.

  • nice hircut, corrine

  • i mean haircut

  • i was drinking some water, and when i saw the tampon i almost chocked haha

  • what kind of screen should you use???

  • Check out our video on making a screen out of an embroidery hoop, tights, and Mod Podge. Or, visit the ThreadBanger forums to an awesome tutorial. You can also buy them at craft stores.

  • i almost died when i saw the giant tampon

  • I really Like that Contact paper idea!

I really am gonna have to start screenprinting shirts.

    Great Job all involved!

  • :) im so entering :P

  • audio is really off

  • I've heard of several different ways to screen print, but I've never heard of doing it with contact paper. Very cool and inexpensive. Thanks!

  • Can I use tights for the screen?

  • Yup! They work really well, but it is difficult to stretch them over a frame, so you'll need a friend to help you with that.

  • yikes, you really need to adjust the audio on that "dragon magic" part

  • i lovess your new hair cut!

  • smarmy clothes is my fav etsy shop

  • omg I love your new haircut Corinne its really cute. could you please please make a video on how to make earrings and necklaces please I really want to make some of my own

BTW, the Winona Shirt was hilarious! I want one!

  • LOL the Home network spoof!!

  • What type of ink? Where can I buy it, and the screen? Or how do you make the screen?????

  • i use "speedball fabric screen printing ink" available at pretty much every art supply store. you can buy those screens from and art supply store as well. or try danceerindance's method for making them. you can also use an old frame and some tightly woven mesh fabric like an old curtain. xoxox c

  • your fringe rocks corrine!!!

  • Hey can you do a video on how to make a suit jacket?

  • I'm in Brazil and I wonder if I could take part in this Janome Machine contest, is that possible?

  • Hmmmm...the faux Shopping Network thing didn't really work for me. I'd much rather have had more Threadbanger tips.

  • For me, too, it was like: OK, when is this over and the show continues?

  • hmm. Funny that this should be posted now, as I've been experimenting with screen printing over the past few days.

  • yay! i fucking love you guys!

  • i've always wanted to try screen printing but have been a little scared to try. i havn't seen this contact paper method. looks cool may have to try it.

    p.s i love that sound too :P

  • cool.!!!!
