I still think the Segway was over hyped as a revolution in transportation. I have not personally seen one being used since the first year they were introduced. I do not stay home everyday either, I travel the Northeast USA.

segways are a fad and just a big toy. You can spend all that money on someting that really works. You can get a nice bike for under $500.00 and bikes are much safer. Maybe you want an electric bike you can get those too much cheaper. Scooters are cheaper by far and great gas mileage. Sorry thery are not good for sidewalks and I would be afraid on the road. Motorcycles at least have metal behind you and in front of you, segways dont have much of anything.
@ighforever You miss the point, segways are different, they are cool, they are fun, if you prefer a motorbike, fair enough, but don't knock what you don't want, other people have different preferences. Live and let live.
