Well that's kind of the way the show works. We like to talk about the stuff that guys talk about in comic shops. But here's a little tip for the technically challenged: you can always 'fast forward' the video by using the buttons on the bottom of the video screen. Then you don't have to listen to all the 'crap' before getting to the review. Or you can always watch Comic Book Club. They're better than us anyway. Ya'll come back now, hear?

@comicculturewarrior im sorry but i have to agree with DerekPlodson on this one. i'm not trying to be a dick but its over 6 minutes before you started the review and then strait out you say don't watch this if you haven't read it yet so i had to stop watching it. you don't think you could put the nerd banter till after the review? and possibly talk about the comic before you get to the spoiler?. its only some creative criticism.

i was really glad to see Ares get taken out. Ares is very indicative of Bendis' Dark Reign over Marvel. To take an F-list character and pull him into the heart of the avengers..just because his best friend wrote the original mini. If anyone other than Oeming had written the Ares mini series Ares would have never gotten out of the box with Terror Inc, Devil Slayer, Foolkiller etc.

Plus, i dont think anyone even remembers that Ares was quesada's plan to ape Conan, which was really hot at the time

the art was good. yeah sentry's fighting style was like manga alot. i dont think thats the old school armor cuz marvel showed the "new armor" off already. i dont even think its stark cuz it was like ver vuague. jarvis coulda said stark is there can yoiu give him the armor. yeah i had the same question about the mighty team but there gonna fight the thunderbolts and ultron during the siege

That death was actually more gruesome in a way than in Dark Avengers, because in their, it's just her head, but in this you can see spine, organs, guts, more blood is spilled than Le Fay's death. But it looked cool, simply cause this time, it was a guy.

Honestly. Siege 2 is the only reason I'm buying Siege 3. I was really upset about #1 but 2 I felt like, its heating up, there's still hope that Bendis could pull off something really spectacular. However, I didn't read Ultimate X (it looked so shitty) so I'm eager to see your next segment about that...

An immature part of me hopes someone comes to Marvel after Bendis and kills every character he's ever created and/or liked(except for Luke Cage; I've always liked him). It kills me how he keeps pushing his creations to the forefront, whether they deserve it or not(Maria Hill in Seige), but he kills other creations with reckless abandon. While I am indifferent with Ares, I still can't forgive him for not only slaughtering Alpha Flight for a shit storyline, but for doing it off panel.

I don't know if it's my Bendis bias or what, but while Siege isn't the worst thing he's ever written, it barely seems like anything is happening. It may be going forward faster than Bendis' usual stories, but you can also summarize each issue in one sentence.

#1: Loki and Osborn manipulate a tragedy as a catalyst for America's war with Asgard.

#2: People fight until someone dies.

Didn't buy the issue, but I gave it an extended eyeballing at my LCS. The ending was very cool, Osborn looking up as the reader sees the reflection of Captain America's(Bucky?) shield flying down to smash him in his ugly face was classic. My favorite part of the book was baby Wolverine getting BBQ'ed by Thor, only because I was thinking just before it happened.."Osborn sent Daken to find Thor by himself? Is that a smart idea?" and then the next page is Kaboom! sizzle! Haha! I loved it.

That being said, no way I was going to spend $3.99 for it, even with the visible body Ares double page spread included. Like Jose said, $2.99 would have been a good price for me. I guess the big question I have now is what the hell is going to happen to the Sentry after this event. Kill him off, depower him in some way? Bendis is kind of painting himself in a corner on this one.

Wow, congrats guys on representing the intelligent segment of the comic book community :) I have nothing but love for the show. I agree, the artwork is why I would buy Siege 2, but Bendis' writing, questionable. I know it's most likely selling well, but it's all up to preference.

That Ares death scene was no surprise to me at all. I predicted he would die in this issue. I hope the new Avengers books coming out in May are $2.99. I'm really interested in Secret Avengers. Brubaker and Deodato sounds like a promising team, but I refuse to buy it if its 32 pages and costs $4. I thought Siege#2 was ok.

@misanthropicmumlover Well, I think there are going to be 4 Avengers books launching in May right? So far we have Avengers (Bendis), Secret Avengers(Brubaker), Avengers Academy(Gage) and one unannounced book. I reallllllly hope that that book is a Slott Avengers comic.

The Sentry did Mortal Kombat on Ares and I hated it. But I can't wait to see Sentry get it handed to him. I was hoping that Ares would be like Bane from Secret six where he would be kind of a good guy now oh well for that idea.

I saw the previews for Marvel's books next week and it seems that the SIEGE tie-ins are more boring backstory in DARK AVENGERS. If anyone is going to buy a SIEGE tie-in, I recommend buying the forthcoming NEW MUTANTS and MIGHTY AVENGERS tie-ins.

I paged through issue two honestly it looked kinda entertaining but not worth picking up, like you said, Jose. Maybe in TPB if resonably priced...big maybe.

Did everyone hear about the Tea Baggers boycotting Marvel???

Ares on the Dark Avengers was like Wolverine on the New Avengers...underused and pretty much superfluous. Although Ares did have 2 better moments in his tenure on the DA than Wolvie ever had on NA.

I don't bother with the CBR reviews anymore. Not because of any Marvel bias(although they do seem to have turned into an online version of Wizard Magazine lately) but because of the fact that they're just not very well written(that goes for their reviews of movies, DC, Indy, and Marvel).

Does Bendis get how silly the Avengers look like in full costume at Luke Cage's house, Bucky's Apartment sitting in the living room or kitchen with a baby in a high seat with the group. I enjoyed this issue, the art was great, as the first one, and the story telling and the dialogs weren't cheesy as in the first issue and as a comic that been writing by Bendis. maybe it's because it a 4 issues event and not the usual 8, that force him to write diffrently (and BETTER).
