The PSX RE 1 and the Game Cube remake were great, RE 4 added some freshness to the aging franchise, but RE 5 sucked immensely! What a rip-off!!! One more game like that and the fans will show the game makers their middle finger.

Somtimes tho I wish that the remake was over the shoulder like 4 and 5 , i think that wud be very intense instead of those tank control ,and also i hate they took out the dodging method from RE3 , but i guess thats what the defensive weapons are for, i used to love dodging zombies and anything else for that matter in 3!
@nynosix yup more slots,she gets a Grenade launcher,Barry also helps you out alot thru out the game,and of course she gets the lockpick ,that helps out alot cuts down on backtracking, the down side tho she runs slower,cant take alot of damage,and trying to burn zombies can be a hassle somtimes,becuz u constantly have to keep the lighter and kerosne flask with you ,and that takes up space.
I like them all , RE 0 ,1,2,3,CV,4,5 !!! Even the Outbreak Files, dnt really have a favorite becuz all of them Epic in there own little way , Cant wait until RE 6 hope it comes out this year (fingers Crossed) if they do bring back zombies tho ,i wana see crimson heads again ,but let them further mutate into Lickers thats the next step!!
I love the original RE's (and the remake) instead of RE 4 & 5 which is boring. I love the survival horrors instead of the third-person shooter based ones that lacks the puzzles that made the history of RE
i love the way u could burn multiple zombies without using all your kerosne 1 time i burned 3 at 1 time! oh and the fact that u have to burn the dead so they wont come to life was a awsome concept!

How about a resident evil remake for the xbox 360 and ps3 with HD graphics. My cousin used to play this back in 98' and i thought it was the coolest scariest fucking game ever. I played resident evil 5 and i was like sense when did zombie run after you with axes and learn to open doors?! RE5 is crap
@ToobYew Well the game was pretty hard on the higher difficulties because the amount of ammo you get is so small that you really have to ignore/dodge as many enemies as you can, which is a strange thing to get used to. As far as it being confusing I would assume you mean the lack of direction you are given and the puzzle aspect? I'm guessing you haven't played many games like zelda or metroid? Just inspect every new item, check every single room you can, and use your map. Simple trial and error.
I have started this again with Chris on the hard setting. Jeez it really is a challenge, especially with Chris. I knew the original like the back of my hand, but this one is very different. Absolutely great tho....give me this over Resi 5 any day!
re 4 and re 5 were the best games in action horror history but i must say that 1 and 2 were the funnest to play for me i liked the game format the back and forth at the same location until you cleared it was fun now i think the are making the game maps to big and it takes away from the back tracking fun that made the game what it is i wish they would do one more game using the old system that would be cool
Man I'm having such difficulties. I've beaten this game a lot but never unlocked a weapon so I'm trying again to do so. Can anyone help me out on how they did things in this game so that I don't have to reset all the time? And is not saving and playing through it really once the whole point? Plus not even using the item boxes?

I know it has to be on normal mode so I'm going to try again of course. Oh and do you have to get the best or any ending with Chris or Jill to get said infinite weapons? Cause I've researched other sources and they all say differing methods. Just tell me what you did or what you think, k? Thank you. ^_^

@maxkasmir that's certainly true, but i think he was focusing more on games such as RE outbreak, RE4, and RE5. because while they are ok, they're certainly not as diverse or creativly made as the original RE's.

@DCSAmimd RE3 and Code Veronica were very good games. I returned RE5 two days after buying it at Gamestop. It wasn't hard at all but it was extremely boring and didn't contain any puzzles. Resident Evil games are supposed to scare you while making you hesitant to go around a corner or open doors. Solving puzzles while being scared shitless is the whole point of Resident Evil. RE4 and 5 epically failed.
@DCSAmimd re3 is easily one of the best in the series.. After that game, idk wtf they were thinking but they took a whole other approach and it was NOT a resident evil approach. my favorite in order, reREMAKE, re2, re3, and reZERO. obviously the original one is a classic, i never name that one since it will obviously be the best one in the series, imo.

This game is way to hard with the puzzles. The Coloered candle puzzle. You have to count how many times it clicks. How the HELL would I have known that!?
@JeanDenisCote There is a room where you walk in there is a huge spider above you. In that room there are three candles with a symbol of an eye under them. When you light them you have to count how many times the lighter clicks before it turns on. How would have known that!!???
@ZincInfinity hahahaha, I remember that puzzle now! I never knew that you had to count the clicks of the lighter... I just associated the color of the light with the number of ticks around the eye... Unless they changed that puzzle in the remake and added the ticks? I'm not sure, I never played the PSX version.
@TheInsaneCrusader the worst part is, you need like 3 medallions, a map, and the ability to read sheet music just to get to the bathroom! (on a non-zombie day)
It's amazing what kind of graphics this game has, considering it was for the GameCube. I think it can still compare to newer generation games today.
I'm glad they did a remake for this game, scary as fuck. Especially the crimson heads...when the sleeping crimson head the hallway all of a sudden wakes up? Insane. Ran out of that room mad quick lol.
@BigAng84 90% of the things in RE were pre rendered so they were able to pretty much go all out on the character models but still pretty good on the gamecube I want more games along these lines in rural areas like 1,2,3 and hell even 4 in some parts 5 just failed in terms of trying to be scary

@StuartTheGamerNerd Lots of older people bought the Gamecube. It has most of the same adult games other systems did, since most games then were multiplatform. Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil 4(for some time) were also exclusive.

I started to play again on Hiking and it was pathetic. I spent all afternoon. Most of the time I wasn't lost though. I just couldn't walk around with all the cool souvenirs I picked up.

Idk about you but for a Game CG graphics for cutscene with voiceovers is the most appropriate, switching from Real-actor to Game Graphics just doesn't feel very immersive, kinda takes me out of the "zone".

I'm a huge fan of RE especially the first one, but if I were the creator of this remake, I would make it more realistic ! How come the mansion is that clean and tidy ? how come the candles are still lighted ? I think a totally dark mansion would be perfect so Jill or Chris can use a torch just like the game " alone in the dark " !

Chris is abit hard. Especially if you want to get a time under 3 hours to unlock rocketlauncher and samurai edge. If you want to get that record you need to remember the place and knowing the when to use the old key. also putting items in the box until the right time to get apparently. right now im trying to remember how i did it so i could post it in youtube. no one has show a chris speedguide so far.

i wish that too but by the looks of it The chronicles are covering the remakes for 2 and 3 apparently and there focusing on the re 5 alternative coming next year in the summer in japan so were looking at two years for the Pal and NTSC version
thats capcom for you like in the remake they didnt explain how barry's disapearance in chris and how rebecca didnt appear at all in Jills. All capcom confirm that both Rebecca and Barry are still alive. Re 5 alternate was to show the missing bits of re5 of a flashback in the spencer estate up to the part they had to fight wesker

This game is way to hard with the puzzles. The Coloered candle puzzle. You have to count how many times it clicks. How the HELL would I have known that!?

@JeanDenisCote There is a room where you walk in there is a huge spider above you. In that room there are three candles with a symbol of an eye under them. When you light them you have to count how many times the lighter clicks before it turns on. How would have known that!!???

@ZincInfinity hahahaha, I remember that puzzle now! I never knew that you had to count the clicks of the lighter... I just associated the color of the light with the number of ticks around the eye... Unless they changed that puzzle in the remake and added the ticks? I'm not sure, I never played the PSX version.

It's amazing what kind of graphics this game has, considering it was for the GameCube. I think it can still compare to newer generation games today.
I'm glad they did a remake for this game, scary as fuck. Especially the crimson heads...when the sleeping crimson head the hallway all of a sudden wakes up? Insane. Ran out of that room mad quick lol.

@BigAng84 90% of the things in RE were pre rendered so they were able to pretty much go all out on the character models but still pretty good on the gamecube I want more games along these lines in rural areas like 1,2,3 and hell even 4 in some parts 5 just failed in terms of trying to be scary

@StuartTheGamerNerd Lots of older people bought the Gamecube. It has most of the same adult games other systems did, since most games then were multiplatform. Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil 4(for some time) were also exclusive.

@StuartTheGamerNerd your one of those "age" gamers, ugh i hate pepole like you a game or console are for any age, a game cant be bad because its imaginative and tame. if a game says 7+ it doesn't mean people can only enjoy them if theyre 7-11, its just a minimum age. and excuse nintendo for wanting everyone to enjoy gaming, and whilst lots of children bought the gamecube i know atleast 30 other people that think it was better than the ps2 and they were 15+ the gamecube was perfect for this game

Videogames are for ANYONE and only stupid dumbfucks say that people only 17+ (or whatever the ESRB rating is in your country) to play this game. That's bullshit because I played Mortal Kombat II when I was two years old and my parents never objected to it. They actually wanted me to play it.

Idk about you but for a Game CG graphics for cutscene with voiceovers is the most appropriate, switching from Real-actor to Game Graphics just doesn't feel very immersive, kinda takes me out of the "zone".

I'm a huge fan of RE especially the first one, but if I were the creator of this remake, I would make it more realistic ! How come the mansion is that clean and tidy ? how come the candles are still lighted ? I think a totally dark mansion would be perfect so Jill or Chris can use a torch just like the game " alone in the dark " !

@Alex618mir heck ya...someday...gamecube...first games I buy are THESE!...Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil 1 Remake would would be this gamein the video...diffenatly the ones to get I would have to day sense i've played resident evil 2 through very quickly and had enough through gameplay of resident evil 3,4 and 5 and yes...I difenatly wouldn't mind exploring the origins like this only with much better graphics and the old controls and camera angles again HECK YA!

@Alex618mir I would definately agree this one was the most terrifying. But I still think 4 and 5 are great games, the control scheme is so much more fun in itself to play. If they could find a medium between the scaryness of the first games and the control feel of the latter, that would be awesome.

Chris is abit hard. Especially if you want to get a time under 3 hours to unlock rocketlauncher and samurai edge. If you want to get that record you need to remember the place and knowing the when to use the old key. also putting items in the box until the right time to get apparently. right now im trying to remember how i did it so i could post it in youtube. no one has show a chris speedguide so far.

true but at least she has the grenade launcher. use fire rounds to burn zombies who are in the way. Dont kill all zombies unless you burn them later. Crimson heads will be a pain at times then the one dangerous zombie itself lol

i wish that too but by the looks of it The chronicles are covering the remakes for 2 and 3 apparently and there focusing on the re 5 alternative coming next year in the summer in japan so were looking at two years for the Pal and NTSC version

thats capcom for you like in the remake they didnt explain how barry's disapearance in chris and how rebecca didnt appear at all in Jills. All capcom confirm that both Rebecca and Barry are still alive. Re 5 alternate was to show the missing bits of re5 of a flashback in the spencer estate up to the part they had to fight wesker
