SO North Jersey. I love you AB, but would have loved a shout out to the Pineys where I'm from, and associated "down the shore" people (the ones who live there, not Bennys), as well as South Jersey rednecks (not the Philly wannabe types). Most people don't care or know anything about the Sopranos or that Jersey Shore show either. Don't worry, I too am a self-hating New Jerseyan too (and I admit I appreciated at least the Monmouth county hello).

I live by Asbury Park and its gettng nice along the strip and its such a shame that the rest of the town is only now somewhat beginning to turn around. And its ashame that they ended up in New Jersey in the winter cause this whole area in the summer is wonderful.

I wish he had been there earlier before next door Calahan's shut down. Competing hotdog stands right next to each other. Calahan's is now out of business.

The dogs are a pork/beef blend, which when fried, get sort of funky. They would have been better if all beef. They are famous and to be recommended once in a life as an experience. But they are not haute cuisine.

Hiram's is a landmark, but he should have mentioned Calahan's in memory.
