@Nikkymm I bet this is Dan Olsen from Albany Academy (NY) - who has been credited with a number of jumps in the 2.21 to 2.24 (7'4.25) range. Don't know if Dan ever made it to the Olympic trials. He did have great technique.
@SunnyKid975 - There's a Daniel Olson listed but from Wheaton, Mass in the 2004 Olympic Track & Field Trials results. It appears he no-heighted, but it took 2.20 clean to qualify for the finals and 2.27 to make the team. I'd be surprised if it's not the same guy.
not tryna tell you what to do...but i think if you 9 stepped and moved your start off to the right a lil you would have done better...your not goin over the center of the bar, where it sags the most...and you know that little bit could keep it up their...but your still like 10x better then me but oh well lol
i just had sectionals for track and the night before i rewatrched you over and over, your form and everything and i cleared my highest jump 5"4 im 13, thanks
did u guys know sotomayor jumped 240cm with 5 steps,,last time soto jumped with 5 steps was wc in gothenburg,,,all thru the comp he used 5 steps,,and he was super close to clearing 238cm or 39 in that comp
What's a good way to avoid landing on your head and breaking your neck? I can high jump really high as it is, but this one fear always holds me back from my full potential...
Bags? Pfft! I wish. We use some solid hard mats to break the falls. They may not hurt that much, but they're freaking hard and could easily break your neck if they were to land on your head.
he has the same problem that ive been working on for a while now... watch how his drive leg stays curled and tucked in to his thigh. he needs to relax it more to help bring his hips up and over the bar
The bad technics :(

there isnt much you can do to avoid that you just haveto rely on the bags to absorb the pressure it really doesnt injure you
