  • Dry counties arent illegal to get alcohol, maybe some but most are you just cant get any on sunday...

  • poor america i drunk for you xD

  • And an addition to the buddy getting into jail. Could this be a case of private prisons, that run for profit according to how many prisoners there are ?

  • Why is a christian county prohibiting alcohol like wine, when even jesus gave it to his buddies ?

The guys are so christian they're muslims...they were the ones without alcohol, right ?

  • In Germany you can drink while driving as long you don't reach a certain bloodlevel!

  • in germany your allowed to drink alchol with 14 whene your with your parents

    PS: Ihr seid klasse. Alen.Jim

PPS: I really like americans (:

  • @SaritaSerenaLorca An Alkohol kommt man immer ran.

  • obvious win for alcohol

beer, work, work, work, weed, work, weed, work, weed, work ..YEAH THATS MY LIFE :D

  • I am German and was 12 years old the first time drunk

  • Its usually called public intoxication.

  • Wow ya here in Oklahoma it's 3.0 beer I can't believe we are more strict then salt lake wow..

  • If you want drink some alcohol (beer or high percent like vodka for example) come to Poland, we are open to you. Greetings from Poland

  • inside of your own car is considered your private space, you can do whatever you want there including beeing nude. look it up its true. your just in big trouble when you -the driver- drinks alcohol.

  • in Holland you can get weed if you're 18 years old :D

  • @supafamouz Not for foreigners anymore.

  • @DerMaskenfrosch Yes, you will need a 'weed-pass' in 2012..

  • omg they are so antiquated in some things

  • jeah germany and usa are friends and ich think its all the same

  • when you like drink hard alcohol in the us you have to be 21 yeahr old right ?! in germany 18 :-D

  • in U.S. we have manners, we drink beer in style, not walking on the street like a fucking moron

  • @Versohnung

HAHAHA "In US we got manners"..that just made my day...and "Drink beer in style" made my week....what manners? what "beer"? ..what style?? A bunch of Woooo girls drinking piss water and get arrested after leaving a bar because of "Drunk in public" from piss water..WOOOOOO

  • german alcohol laws for the win

  • in Germany you can get beer if you´re 16 years old (:

  • @Drummen4tw The most kids dont follow these rules and drink with 14 or 15 : )

  • @Arschlocheule in the us ? in germany i know i'm german :D

  • @Drummen4tw So why are we talking/Writting in english??

  • @Arschlocheule ich hab keine ahnung :P

  • @Drummen4tw

    leider

  • @Syntox09 warum den leider?

  • @ExtremelyFlamable100

    bier ist schlecht !

  • @Syntox09 ansichtssache ^^

  • @Drummen4tw

not only beer =)) we can buy wine too!

  • Comment removed

  • @Drummen4tw and you start to drink beer with 14 xD

  • @Drummen4tw That alone gets Germany a win

  • Getting arrested for being drunk in public? Visit german's carnival in Mainz or Köln (Cologne)... There, the public is being drunk....

  • @mtfcs proud to be from cologne and just waiting for the next carnival public drinking season :D Kölle Allaaf!

  • @ShanaNicoleXify well actually it is true because a barraster was saying it on live tv. you of course are not allowed to be over the limit, but aslong as your under the legal limit you can be drinking a can of beer while driving

  • you forgot to mention that you can drink beer at the age of 16 here in germany!

  • Utah is like sweden :-)

  • Most of this isn't true. I'm from the U.S., and have been studying in Germany since September 17, 2010. I can definitely vouch for the fact that we DO NOT have a crime entitled "Public Drunk". It depends on which state you live in but it's either "Public Drunkenness" or "Public Intoxication". I don't know how it is in Mississippi, but maybe this show shouldn't be called "Germany vs USA", but rather "Germany vs Mississippi", because he definitely can't speak for Pennsylvania (where I'm from).

  • hey guys i saw on german tv. you can even be drinking alcohol while driving...you just cant be over the limit...but you can actually be drinking a can of beer while driving :D

  • @Tibialmario That is not 100 % correct. You are allowed to have 0.5 pro mille alcohol in your breathe when the cops are making a control but if you create an accident and you have alcohol in your blood (even if you are under the 0.5 border) you will be in trouble with your car insurance company that means they probably will not pay the damage. So it is a little bit tricky to drink and drive.

  • 15 years old and live in germany (bavaria) <----- xP

  • thes brown bags are so stupid because everybody know whats in there :D

  • Pennsylvania is the most strict state when it comes to alcohol.

  • Die Sicherung ist durch ^^°^^...

    lol

  • in usa especially california much people rather smoke some weed than drink alcohol like in germany

i know that i lived in germany for almost 4 years now im in cali since few months

  • @Ulansananelan many people do that in germany too ^^ especially because holland is our neighbour :P people near to holland often drive their for a weekend trip for doing it legal, but still in germany are many people smoking weed :D At me it's like 1. weekend alcohol 2. weekend weed and that again and again ^^ maybe you just didn't see that in that 4 years, because most people do it hidden and alcohol is even legal to drink on the street!

  • @Ulansananelan dude we have no borders in europe and luckily holland is our neighbour ^^ so everybody who lives near the dutch border can smoke as much weed as he wants...believe me, if you are in a western state of germany for example northrhine westphalia you will see a lot of stoners too^^

its just the same as in the US...

  • @Ulansananelan we had american pupils for a time here in germany and we went to a party with em . every german drunk alcohol and most of them many alcohol^^ the american pupils didnt drink anything but as we asked whether they smoke weed everybody said yes :D

  • @Ulansananelan That is very true. The cops here are actually pretty relaxed and don't go out of their way to bust you for weed. Is smoking weed in Germany frowned upon like in Norway/Sweden or is everyone a little more relaxed about weed like in the US?

  • @scotty2914 It is illegal like in the USA but you wont get busted for carrying small amounts with you (mostly). Weed is pretty much everywhere. Ive never been to a party without seeing some people smokin. I'd say it almost seems legal here.

  • @Ulansananelan because in germany you get punished harder for smoking weed than for raping a child. fucking system

  • its awesome how they drink that with the alcohol in the brown back germany and usa rocks ;) gettings from germany

  • Dutch & German Beer on top off the world.

Not Heineken thought, taste like piss. Im ashamed of it.

  • @GrungeBouke elephant piss, to be exact.

  • @GrungeBouke The Brewing Industry International Awards. And the winner is....TYSKIE !!! Polish beer is one of the best :P

  • damn i could never survive in the US ....give me two maybe three days i'd be arrestet ^^

  • You can drink alcohol whenever and wherever you want in germany except in public buildings like town or city halls, busses or places its signposted to be forbidden.

And of course not drink and drive..what includes bicycles >.>

  • how about the "Open Container" rule when your friend is on the backseat having a beer..its still in reach and open..still ticket then?

  • Okay, I'll never move to the US -.-

  • @sinschae

*lmao* For the of Christ, there is much more to my home country then bad beer my dear Fraulein, and you can get a lot of imported beers as well. I know U.S. beer is hated 'round the world over, but you don't need that nasty shit anyway. Trust me: Men don't won't women who drink beer regularly, anyway. Trust me on that. It's pure shit for your health. :)

  • @hkg575ok I think you took her comment far too seriously. And my best friend is a real beer loving girl and she just got married last week. So whe you say things like that, remeber you're not the only man in the world.

  • @Genevieve1023

*lol* I wasn't being all serious and lacking irony or anything. I was just stating a point that not all of us give two shits about beer. And congrads to your best friend. And yes, I know I am one of BILLIONS of men in this bickering world, but honestly: many of my European & Canadian friends take stuff like the legendary bad tasting to them U.S. beer FAR too seriously. I don't know but it's just my observation. Anyway peace be with ya.

  • @hkg575ok haha, I know that the US isn't that bad. But all the alcohol rules suck pretty much!

  • @sinschae It is that bad.

  • US is similar to Australia here, according to my experience, it is not bad, in Poland you can buy alcohol even in supermarkets on gas stations which is ridiculous

  • @MsAppleeater why is that ridiculos? ^^ its the same here in germany. every supermarket and gas station sells alcohol.

  • @protapirus only because in Germany too they sell alcohol on gas station it doesn't start to be normal for me, gas station is not the place for alcohol

  • @MsAppleeater

the land of the free is so overregulated sometimes

  • not all of them sell alcohol

  • @MsAppleeater (For 6 month you write a comment under a video that was called Germany vs USA - Alcohol )

Is it true that you can't buy alcohol on supermarkets or gas stations? And if it is true where do you buy the alcohol when not there? :D In germany you can buy alcohol everywhere even at imbisses resturents or in a (don't know the exact word a shop that sell's clothers). And when are you allowed to drink alcohol ligilly? Sry for the bad grammar but i am not a nativ speaker :-)

  • @quatsch344 you didn't understand what I wrote, US and Australia is different that Poland and Germany in that subject, and I wrote that here in Poland you can buy alcohol in supermarket ON gas station not "or", it means in EVERY one

  • @MsAppleeater Oh sry sry you see my english is horrible but thanks for the fast answer :D

  • @MsAppleeater in Poland you can legal bye verry verry loud firecrackers (called La Bomba or Colour Salute), in Germany they are illegal...

  • I'm a Brit and having just been to Berlin the impression I got was the rules are a little more relaxed because they're more responsible over there. America's not that different to Britain in that respect we're like kids you gotta keep the sharp things a little higher out of reach!

  • Comment removed

  • @Ulansananelan Alcoholic Country ? ah i c Turkey

  • @Ulansananelan you know that drinking alkohol in public is allowes in the most countries in the world.

  • @Ulansananelan alcohol is allowed in the US too...you just dont have the freedom to drink it in public over there...

oh and not everybody is aggressive when they are drunk^^

  • So, if I go to a bar in the US I have to stay there until I'm not drunk anymore? :D

  • I'm so glad I'm from New York City. We don't have the public drunkenness laws here. Which is good for me because I get on the subway completely drunk every saturday night (really early sunday morning).

  • @Genevieve1023 scary if you're alone in the park on a saturday night tho...

i think public intoxication being illegal makes sense, even though im german. i seriously hate all these drunk youths on weekend nights wandering the streets. at least from 7pm to 7am it should be illegal.

  • The more I learn about USA, the happier I am being a german. :C

  • no one can blaim the governments for putting laws against drunk drivers , they could kill people !

    great videos ..

  • Thats one thing i cant understand. In the usa its legal to have a gun but it is illigal (in some states) to drink or buy alcohol. In germany its just conversly. Here it is illigal to have a gun without a permit, but it is absolutly legal to get drunk in public or drive your drinking/drunk friends around in a car. Even a open container is not a reason for the police here to arrest you. You can also have a open beer in your cupholder when youre driving around.

  • Alcohol laws are pretty much identical here in Canada to those of the US. In my province we have beer stores to purchase beer, obviously, and then you have to go the the Liquor Control Board to gain any other types of alcohol.

  • Alcohol <3

  • mesquite, texas is a dry county. i used to work at 7-eleven and on holidays, people from mesquite would drive 15 minutes to buy beer at our store

  • Germans shouldnt make fun of american accents!

  • he forgot too mention that the only place you can drink public is at a bar or inside yoru house in the us

Its legal in Germany to drink while youre driving. Till you reach 0.5 per mille

  • @Gurumeierhans kommt ja wieder aufs alter an kennst ja warscheinlich als fahranfämger 0,0 und ab 22 dafst du 0,5

  • @Cabalfreak

  • @BobKelso2010

nein, es sind 2 Jahre Probezeit

    btw: nice YouTube Name ^^

  • @Gurumeierhans & @BobKelso

  • @packeingladys

wo hast du denn das her???

  • @highfive96

  • isn't the Jack Daniels brewery in Tennessee in a dry county? So, you can't buy the JD in the gift store of whatever?? ?

  • @CrazeeCatrin According to Wikipedia you can buy it on the shop because they got a "special permit" ...pretty ridiculius though , like so many things in the USA...

  • I don't know dudes. I know what you're getting at but just because Germany thinks it ok for every drunk asshole to get behind a wheel and not get in trouble for it doesn't make it ok. (and btw Ich Liebe Deuschtland, aber...aber... I don't know about this one)

  • @Xelanderthomas

What are you talking about? Drunk driving isn't legal in Germany. You don't go to prison for a month, but you lose your license and some other stuff happens (I don't know exactly what..).

  • @sdrawkcabgnipytmi Oh yeah, that makes sense. I thought they were implying that was ok in Germany. I thought that was the whole point of the video. If it's not then what's the point? He said the open container doesn't exist in Germany. I don't think it's a big deal the laws in American. If you go to jail for a month I promise you it's not your 1st offense.

  • @Xelanderthomas

Well they probably didn't go and read the actual legislation (which is probably different in different states anyways). Open container doesn't exist in Germany, but you still can't be drinking/drunk while driving.

  • @sdrawkcabgnipytmi Makes sense. But that's not clear by listening to what they say in video. He seems really surprised that you can get in trouble for drunk driving. 04:16 which could lead one to believe that it must not be so in Germany. But I stand corrected ;-)

  • i can confirm that it's legal to drink alcohol while driving :)

i know for sure because i was stopped by police on my way to a festival. they made an alcohol test which i passed and they let me drive on WITH my beer.

but: you have to be older than 21, no longer be in trial period (of license) and of course your blood alcohol must be in the legal limit.

    :) cheers

  • You can have alcohol in public in Vegas. Maybe a few other select areas of the US.

  • U GUYS ROOOOOOOOOOOCK!!!

  • You could mention that you are allowed to drink beer and wine with 16 in germany. other alcohol when you re 18

  • Been to Germany when I was in the army. Beer was great. High alcohol content and better tasting. They should've said something about Germany's Oktoberfest.

I came back to America and had a Budweiser. I spit that nasty shit out. That's when I knew the difference between German beer and American beer.

  • @yankbastard

belgium ale is still nr1, german beer is a close 2nd though

  • @solidturckie im german but best german beer in the world is Budweiser from Czechoslovakia NUMBA1

  • @yankbastard

Budweiser is german beer as well but it has pretty much adapted to the established american taste ^^

  • @Beakle busweiser is cheap$hit, we have other good beers which are pretty cheap like S. Adams, Moosehead [dont think its American], etc

  • @yankbastard: Hey, i drink Budweiser day by day, but its labeled " Czech Imported Lager"... ;-)

  • @yankbastard ehmmm sorry dude but Budweiser isn`t american nor german beer...its Czech beer!

  • @victovicto omg really!? That's crazy! That just doesn't sound safe to begin with. I'd be happy enough to drink as a passenger. :)

  • In Germany you can even dring while you are driving... but keep in mind how much you drink

  • The thing that surprises me here in Germany is seeing guys drinking beer at 7AM on the train as they're heading to work.

In my local supermarket, it's possible to buy a litre of beer for 4 cents cheaper than a litre bottle of water.

  • I think in Germany its also legal to drink as driver, if you dont get over 0,5 per mil. But no one should do this.

    Nice video guys

  • alex im lost if I email you with a little story about my life would please tell me what to do. you seem to have it together. im totally lost.

  • Would natives prefer for foreigners to speak with little accent or they dont mind much???

  • @foxleyleon I know in Germany, they're okay with an accent, they think it's wonderful that you tried to learn their language. But, in France, they get really angry for you speaking with an accent, like it's tarnishing the wonderful French language. Of course, I'm generalizing... but it holds true for most people.

  • I was born in NY .. lived in the US all my life and did not know you much have alcohol in a brown bag in public ! Lol !!

  • in pennsylvania, you can only buy alcohol from a state store so that means no alcohol in grocery stores. and i think its in illinois that you can't be standing when you're drinking. so if you want to move to another table in a bar, you move and then a waitress will bring your drink over.

  • we can't dring alcohol at all its forbidden this is much better dont you think ???

  • YES, a subject I'm interested in!

That is interesting that the passengers in a car can drink in Germany.

  • You should do an episode on the differences of the school system

    or one on

    Tokio Hotel

    or

    steriotypes

  • hear that! let's move to germany!

  • Fitting Episode for my birthddayy, i fucking rule! :D

  • hey in this dry countrys, did they have alcohol in the tv ads?

  • lol never understood why alchohol bothers americans so much??? Uhh alchohol dangerous and ofcourse guns arnt "dangerous" lol

  • @FcK2420 Alcohol kills WAY more people in the US every year than guns do, so your position is pretty illogical.

Maybe you should switch your post around and apply it back at yourself and your own perceptions. "Uhh guns are so dangeorus even though many more people die from alcohol-related diseases and drunk driving accidents. Uuuuh guns scary, alcohol good. Americans stupid, Europeans smart".

So typical of the hilariously undeserved European arrogance.

  • @MercenarySlick

    "Americans stupid, Europeans smart"

    - in general not but if I look ppl which upload something like this: watch?v=j6JpBo7nVxs (btw. it got uploaded by you...)

I would directly agree (if you change "Americans" to "Retards" because I would never insult someone for his nation)...

  • Are you sure PA and NJ are dry counties? because my family buys alcohol...or am i missing the what dry counties are all about? *is confused* lol

  • @laurbrad93: PA and NJ aren't counties....they're states....PA and NJ HAVE dry counties...

  • @xCuppyCakeSqueakersx yeah i know that...i have lived in both places...but what did he mean that they are dry counties?

you can buy alcohol there, the place just needs a license for selling alcohol.

  • @laurbrad93: They have dry counties. Not all counties sell alcohol, they mean.

  • @xCuppyCakeSqueakersx

    oh okay, haha thanks

  • In Minnesota, we don't have this "public drunk" thing. We walk home from the bars all the time. As long as you're not causing problems, the cops don't bother you.

One question though..how do you guys walk from bar to bar if the cops are waiting for you outside? lol

  • I hope this means you are back. Having lived in Germany 14 years makes me a good back up person, plus this is just awesome. I love you guy's. BTW, my wife was born and raised in Frankfurt and Ruhpolding. She loves this too. Please don't stop.

  • Im not one of those big beer fans but I enjoy the taste of a glas or two. But what america is making out of it is ridiculous, honestly. How do you get home when you cant walk home, cant drive, and are not allowed to be a passenger in a car?! oO

  • In South West Pennsylvania its illegal to sell any type of alcohol in a grocery store, and you can sell beer and liquor together in the same store.

  • toll mal wieder *-*

  • Genial, wie immer!

  • Ich finde eure Videos so geil :-)

  • awesome, give us mooaar ;D

  • in germany the brown bags are mostly for purchases in sexshops, u always get one if u buy anithing in it ^^

but i think it will be changed in neon-yellow

  • @chickengeorg123 Not always... Our local independend supermarkes has brown paper bags for years now. You basically can't get plastic bags there.

  • i learned a lot. like that mug should be an ole miss mug not a state. sorry. haha
