The technology on a Nuclear submarine is cutting edge? Maybe the sonar or something. But the nuclear reactors and the instruments are fucking OLD as FUCK. Its like im working on some ancient shrine. Its bull shit. Navy doesn't want to spend any money at all.
If they need nukes so badly why don't they start by making life livable for nukes? I've heard nothing but stories of getting 1 or 2 hours of sleep, hating the job, and hating the school.
@Ultrablushi it's the nature of the job. there isnt much room on board subs for berthing of extra personnel and there is a lot of work to do on a submarine, lots of maintenance, and lots of training. personally i thought the school was a piece of cake but anyone not expecting the job to be extremely challenging didnt have their head screwed on right when they applied in the first place! most of us do bitch a lot but ive never met a nuke who wasnt PROUD to be one
when will obama, gates, mullen or roughead allow the navy to engage and eliminate the 2-bit somali pirates? Wasn't the navy created by Tom Jefferson in order to engage/defeat the barbary pirates?
eh I'd say the navy was created to defend our merchant ships from other countries who didn't recognize our independence at the time. Not so much pirates.
