the only key to success this mission all you have to do is follow the dozer 122 all the way until you see the carrier ball and u need to maintain 140-130 knots for the approach speed and don't let your decent exceed 700ft/min. i don't have any difficulties to this mission

I'm having trouble with this one. I can keep about 10 feet away from the wingman throughout the approach, that's easy. But when I land, I go 130 knots, the LSO and the ball says I'm on a good glide slope, I touch down smoothly on all gears and it says I crash. I tried again and flared a little (despite not needing to), but it still crashes. I can land on the carrier tutorial every time, yet this one defeats me. Any suggestions?
Never mind, I just did it :D I used Microbrewst's carrier landing guide on fsdreamteam (dot) com, very helpful! My problem was overcorrecting once over the deck and accidentally raising the nose just before catching a wire, consequently face-planting the jet into the deck. Thanks Microbrewst!

No you dont. you dont even need a joystick. i started playing it with my xbox controler... and then when i found how great fsx is i brought myself a joystick. and i fly easyly with simple joystick. =] but i advice getting a good(ish) joystick
well .... what's to help ? just fly straight ahead, and watch your altitude, you can descend to 600 feet earlier if you want... the visibility is realy realy bad but you will see at some point a light far away, that is the carrier.... don;t know what else i could say ....
maybe i can, when you are landing you have to hook on a cable, i think that HUD shows you are you too low or too high and if HUD shows you that you are on right position than you will hook on and land, small dots shows you that, if this sounds complicated, than watch tutorial :)

beautiful landing. Acceleration takes up i think about 2GB of memory. But chances are if you don't have 2GB of free space to spare after fsx, you probably won't even be able to run fsx. No Offense. I had a crap computer and fsx was nearly impossible.

yeah u need fsx first. acceleration is just an addon. and to get the best out of it u need a joystick with rudder controls and throttle handle. It's quite expensive but really worth the money :D

Yes you need FSX first before you get this one. Also make sure you upgrade you're video card (Geforce 8600 GT at least). This add on needs some powerful hardware.
Nice video, but you are in a very wide formation. The pilot of the other FA/18 tell you when you are in a good formation. In the VC it looks like your much closer then you really are.

Not a bad landing. You were bouncing high and low on approach but kept an even glideslope. You looked on speed, on centerline most of the way in, becoming a little high on short final. A 4-wire is what I'm guessing you snagged. Fair4 for the greenie board. Coulda been an OK3. Keep it right at glideslope, no floating high!

should this run with the same specs as FSX? cos i got acceleration for xmas, but the PC that i have run FSX on for ages wont run this at all. it just comes up with something about the GPU and then shuts down...
i dont have any of that. but it runs now anyway, turns out the message about the graphics card was its own contrived way of telling me i needed to restart before i could play. I dont have anywhere near the specs you suggest, im using 1gb of RAM, and i dont know what the GPU is, but a geforce it aint.
ah.. kk, I have been trying to figure out how to land using ILS at airports, I get the runway freq from the map, but i don't know how to enter it into the system, any suggestions?
Oh...that's easy. When you go to the world map while your in flight, the runways should have ILS frequencies (most but not all). You have to tune that frequency into NAV1 in your radio stack. When you get close to the airport make sure your NAV/GPS dial is switched to "NAV". When you're close enough to the airport the vertical and horizontal ILS pointers should appear on your HDD. Hope I was helpful.
how do you get lined up with centerline on approach, not necessarily on the carrier but on any runway. I have staying lined up with the runway even if i feel like im perfectly lined up to start with. Is there a command to help with this?
It's kind of hard to describe...you just kind of have to get the "feel" of it. I guess what I do is keep the centerline in the middle of my hud at all times...

Never had any problem running out of fuel. Try to cut back on using the afterburner.

You need at least 2 gigs of RAM and a Geforce 6X00, but you need a dual core processor and a Geforce 8X00 for it to run in high detail and resoltion.

should this run with the same specs as FSX? cos i got acceleration for xmas, but the PC that i have run FSX on for ages wont run this at all. it just comes up with something about the GPU and then shuts down...

I think you need at least 2 Gigs of RAM, a GeForce 7X00 video card, and of course, the latest video drivers for the card.

i dont have any of that. but it runs now anyway, turns out the message about the graphics card was its own contrived way of telling me i needed to restart before i could play. I dont have anywhere near the specs you suggest, im using 1gb of RAM, and i dont know what the GPU is, but a geforce it aint.

ah.. kk, I have been trying to figure out how to land using ILS at airports, I get the runway freq from the map, but i don't know how to enter it into the system, any suggestions?

Oh...that's easy. When you go to the world map while your in flight, the runways should have ILS frequencies (most but not all). You have to tune that frequency into NAV1 in your radio stack. When you get close to the airport make sure your NAV/GPS dial is switched to "NAV". When you're close enough to the airport the vertical and horizontal ILS pointers should appear on your HDD. how do you get lined up with centerline on approach, not necessarily on the carrier but on any runway. I have staying lined up with the runway even if i feel like im perfectly lined up to start with. Is there a command to help with this?

It's kind of hard to describe...you just kind of have to get the "feel" of it. I guess what I do is keep the centerline in the middle of my hud at all times...
