he raises them up from when they were born, and never tames them. he shows them pure affection and care. so they genuinly have trust in him. those wild cats are as much as house cats to him. so nice. thats the way to grow trust.
it's better not to tame any wild cats at all, just gain their trust by using love and affection a if you were a mother to them cause then they would see you as the one who raised them up, you have to gain any wild animals trust with right methods and not with sticks and chains, no wonder why most of the animals are afraid of us.

i think he's just using commen sense: protect your face and neck; see, he was scrunching up his shoulders to protect his neck (because if a lion is attacking they bite the neck or the throat to puncture the arteries) and then his face for obvious reasons i.e. so he doesn't lose an eye, etc.
Confidence is key probably. I don't know much about taming animals, but every dog LOVES me, even ones that my friends have said are always angry and pissed at the world. Animals must be able to read body language and fear because the more confident and assertive you are, the more successful you are. I still wouldn't test my luck with lions lol.
We could all learn to communicate with wild animals if he would teach us. But man is the most fearful animal of all; that is why we create so many weapons, from guns to bombs to missiles. We're so afraid of others and ourselves that it would be next to impossible for us to be able to interact with wild animals like Kevin.

are you retarded? how could you ever raise an animal so enormous and powerful in a normal home, even when you have acres and acres of land? it's not a question of abuse and cruelty. normal families don't know how to raise a big cat and therefore are subjected to attacks. they're not tame and big cat owners (mostly those in fight to conserve them) knows the risks they put themselves in everyday.

Kevin is intentionally trying to avoid a lot of licks on his skin from the lions because lions have very rough tongues that are designed to help peel the skin off the food (wildebeest, zebra's, wild boars etc.)....So the lions tongue on "delicate human skin" can be very irritating.
I'll be glad when this DVD comes to the United States (as of Feb 08 it is only in Africa). I also hope the reserve continues to make videos about Kevin and
his interaction with these animals.

Everytime the lions lick his head, i think he is using some kind of lion pheromone so they accept him as one of their own.

are you retarded? how could you ever raise an animal so enormous and powerful in a normal home, even when you have acres and acres of land? it's not a question of abuse and cruelty. normal families don't know how to raise a big cat and therefore are subjected to attacks. they're not tame and big cat owners (mostly those in fight to conserve them) knows the risks they put themselves in everyday.
