An objective point of view? It sure doesn't seems like it, you seem pretty set on Jack's Joker. I personally see the movies as completely separate pieces of art. The movie's in the 90's were more of a Tim Burton fantasy world. The new Batman movies are straying from the cartoon land of the original movies and going for more of a real life look, making it seem relatively possible for an actual human to do what he does.

Oh, and people need to stop saying Burton's take was "cartoony." If you remember anything about it, Burton brought Batman from the 60's campy version BACK to its original dark roots. It also INSPIRED the dark toned animated series, wasn't pulled from it.

Nolan's isn't more realistic.

Actaully Nolan's Batman world is widely considered more realisitic and gritty and serious. Some people like that about Nolan's Batman films but some people hate that about his films. On the subject at hand, I'm a huge Jack fan(as if my name didn't give that away)but Ledger's Joker was just better in every way. Jack was still great though but in a different way.

If you're defining realistic by terms of that which could possibly happen, there is no WAY Nolan's is more realistic. The ONLY thing that Nolan's Batman world has on Burton's is that Nolan makes his movies twice as long and thus gives him more room to fledge out backstory. Explaining how things come to pass is the only reason Nolan's films come off as more realisitc. If TKD was released before Begins, it would've been regarded as just another unrealistic action packed flick.

Hollywood fucked all that up and got the real story of Batman twisted. I was always disappointed in all the 4 Batman movies but when Batman Begins came out, the story finally came out right especially about the Joker. The real Joker is a psychopath, insane, mind-twisted evil mastermind from the DC Comics & Heath Ledger plays the exact character of the Villan.

So, no more of this "They got the story right ESPECIALLY with the Dark Knight." Two-face's beginning was just as f'ed up as Jack's Joker killing Bruce's parents.

I hear "The Killing Joke" is one of the most widely regarded works in describing the character of the Joker. I've read that and a few other works, and feel I have a pretty good understanding of the character. Nicholson's interpretation was very good. I suppose I'll have to make a video showing why his interpretation was good, seeing as how the recency effect has caused most people to forget what Jack's Joker actually did.

The Killing Joke was made in the 80's. Ledger's Joker is based on the early 40's comics.

The real Joker is a psychopath and the physical appearance of the Joker played by Heath Ledger exactly fits the discriptional character of the Real Joker. There is no real Joker. The make-up is because no one turns perfectly white, green, and red from being bleached in chemicals. There is no EXACT physical description of the Joker. The character's had multiple artists, all portraying him in their own way as far as physical stature goes. As good as Heath's was, I doubt anything can make Jack's look gay.
