it's only because the ratios are held longer in 'S' mode for faster acceleration, hence the car sounds like it has fewer ratios. it definitely would be a 7G-tronic though.

I am from Germany and I have an E350 pre - facelift built 11/2004, and my car has a 7 G Tronic Transmisson. Mercedes- Benz never had 6 gears automatic transmissions and a E350 can not have a 5 gear automatic transmission, this models have only the 7 G Ttronic!
Mercedes offers only the 7-gear automatic transmission for the E350, theres no offer for a manuell transmission... and mercedes havn't 6 gear automatics transmission ;)
@painkillerxxl please don't answer to this guys, they don't have mercedes, so they are jealous, and then they come to our videos and start saying that our cars don't have something, and only us know what our cars have.....

Hi,
As far as I know there is a six gear manual transmission only.
The automatic transmission has been available as a 5 and 7 Gear- transmission since 2004

@painkillerxxl It is a 7spd tranny. Only the 4matic versions used the 5spd because of size issues with the 7spd
