What's this music? Great vid, Breaston was always an underrated reciever. It's good he's number 2 with the Cardinals this year so he can finally show his stuff to everyone
You have to admit the refs were AWFUL!!!! You almost have to put an * by it. Not saying there wern't bad on both sides, but they were to a fault. I'm not talking about normal bad calls. That was worst officiated game ever.
Jason Avant, Anthony Carter, Steve Breaston,David Terrell, Amani Toomer, Mario Manningham? have there been any from Ohio State? hmmm Ted Ginn, and hartline thats it
Boy, are you clueless! Ever heard of Chris Carter? One of the greatest WR's in NFL history. He's 2nd all time among NFL WR's with 130 TD catches.. Soon to be Hall of famer.
Paul Warfield? 85 career NFL TD's and hall of famer
Joey Galloway ?He only has 77 TD catches in the NFL.
I could go on. The guys you mentioned don't come close to touching these guys in stats.
I think you miss the point....The ones that are not early in their career aren't even close to the ones I mentioned. What does A. Carter have? 50 Career TD's? I know he's not close to any of the great retired OSU WR's.
As far as those UM players early in their career, Sure, Breaston with 6 TD catches in 3 years is on his way to 80+ TD's....lol!!
Avant? What does he have? 6 or 7 TD catches in 4 years?
You guys crack me up....Pardon me, but your idiocy is showing!
I've always wondered why YouTube comments were so devoid of useful information. What is the point of a 500 character limit?
Anyways, Breaston had the final say in this debate last season, silencing any critics of his that may have remained, by finishing 22nd in the NFL in receiving yards, with 1006, and helping his team to a superbowl, and came within minutes of winning it all.
Anyway, GO BLUE! Huge win over Notre Dame, and cheers to an exciting new era with Tate Forcier and Rich Rodriguez.
To explain the context of this video: I was always a huge fan of Breaston. His freshman year was the year I moved to Ann Arbor, and he instantly became my favourite Wolverine. This video was hastily put together in the days leading up to the meeting of two 12-0 teams. I was upset by Herbstreit calling Breaston Worthless on national television, and wanted to show how valuable Breaston really was during that 12-0 run. He truely was a possession receiver.
well I worked at the abc warehouse back in 03 here in aa and he came in one night when we were closing and wanted to get a radar detector for his girlfriend i told i would hook him up if he come back in the next day just remind me of it.
well anyway he come in a few days latter seen evan (former um lb) and introduced me to him when asked why didn't he say something that night? he said why should that matter? true classy guy. glad he made it pro, ty law was a nice guy too.
In response to innumerable complaints towards to the terribly repetitive rendition of Hail to the Victors, I have swapped it out with YouTubes "I'm feeling lucky" feature. I apologize for ever releasing that upon the world. Victors with violins sounded like a good idea in my head, but stamping out a song in ten minutes and then, in excitement and anticipation towards the upcoming matchup of undefeated Michigan vs. undefeated OSU, publishing it on the internet was not terribly smart.
I'm not sure what this compilation was about? You showed Stevie catching 4-yard stop routes and getting tackled? I was waiting for one where he ran a punt to the house, but I didn't get it... I'm not sure how you're making you're point Nonetheless, Hail!
Dude, as if the stupid fight song wasn't bad enough, you pull out your casio keyboard and insult the band! If I were in the Michigan marching band and heard this crap i'd kick your ass!
Actually, the feeble mind is yours. The correct title of Michigan's fight song is "The Victors," not "Hail to the Victors" -- those are merely the first four words.
Breaston fits in perfect with Az, he's not asked to be the number 1 guy because we got 2 number 1 guys already, this guy is gonna end up with a ring someday.
Heh...get back to me 5 more years down the road, and we'll compare the NFL careers of Steve Breaston and Kirk Herbstreit. Oh wait...Kirk didn't have a pro career.
Breaston was a disappointment. I remember his freshmen year, everybody was going nuts over his explosiveness. Then he got banged up his sophmore year (I think might have been hurt his junior year too) and he just never lived up to expectations. He always made you hold your breath when he touched the ball, but he rarely hit that home run. It sucks he didn't go out a winner (especially in that Rose Bowl against Texas), but at least he's doing well for himself in the pros.
Breaston was a borderline bust as a wide receiver, but he was such an explosive return man. He was the greatest returner in not just Michigan history, but Big ten history as well. Every time he touched the ball on punts or kickoffs, you held your breath, and he made alot of big plays in the return game.
He rarely made a big play as a receiver, but as a return man, he was making big plays all the time. Go Blue!
Are you joking? Have you checked how Ginn did in the nfl in 07? He only had 3 tds on the year lol. Only thing going for Ginn now is that he has a Michigan qb passing to him named Henne.
RequiemForABuckeye, I don't want to allow facts to spoil your Ginn jerkfest, but I will anyways. You said Breaston couldn't hold Ginn's jock right? Let's compare their final seasons in college (Breaston was the #2 receiver, Ginn the #1)
Ginn: 59 catches, 781 yards, 13.24 ypc, 9 TD
Breaston: 58 catches, 670 yards, 11.55 ypc, 2 TD
Manningham and a conservative offense took away the chances at TDs Breaston had. Ginn had one more catch and 100 yards and change more than Breaston.
So basically, Ginn was a slightly better receiver and kick returner, and Breaston the better punt returner. Yeah, but Breaston "can't hold Ginn's jock". Like I said, don't let facts get in the way of a good time.
Yeah, thats unfortunate, but hey, we got a poor mans Pryor in Justin Feagin, we've got verbal commitemtns from Kevin Nesome and Svodrick beaver, and at Ohio State, Todd Boeckman is still the starter, which means Ohio States passing game will suck once again against us in 2008. Go Blue!
The music is terrible. I certainly know what it is as does anyone who considers themselves a college football fan. But this version is some weird Casio thing. It's brutal.
Ginn was better then Breaston (a;though not as a returner), but Woodson? Dream on dude. Woodson won the Heismen and led Michigan to a national championship. Ginn did neither. End of story.
"I think Woodson was a better returner than Breaston"
Woodson had that 78 yard punt return against Ohio State, but overall, I think Breaston was the better returner. Actually, I would say he was thre best returner in Michigan history-better then Desmond Howard.
All is well, 6 in a row came to be true. Anyone have information as to when Hart or Minor may return? Scary seeing the guys without such a strong player.
And yeah, agreed.. A rematch against those ducking fucks would be great.
1997 a girl called lauren was walikng in a forest and then a she just dissapeared no one ever found her untill 2000 when a yoing girl called Mary found her body and markings on her chest saying: I wasnt pretty enough" and now you have read this she will appear in your mirror saying your not pretty enough and kill you. by the way the girl called mary died shortly after.

...He only had three career 100 yeard games and only 10 career touchdown receptions. he was expected to become a game breaking receiver in his junior season, and he only had 26 catches for 291 yards and 2 touchdowns. But then he had a great training camp, and he was expected to fill Jason Avants shoes and become michigans next 100 yard, 70 catch receiver. Instead, breaston only had 58 catches for 670 yards and 2 touchdowns-and he didn't score a single touchdown in Michigans 7 home games.
When kirk Herbstreet called Steve Breaston 'worthless," I think what he meant was that breaston was worthless as a "wide receiver." Breaston was a game changing punt/kick returner-the best returner in Michigan history, IMO-but a he was a dissapointment as a wide receiver...
No, I am all Breaston, and all BLUE so I hope that I didn't come off as being a fairweather fan.
A lot of players deserved to go out better, but Hart will end that for the seniors this year, and the BCS bowl will be the game of game's because I hope that they get Oregon again, or U$C!
I'm a huge fan of Michigan, but as long as you acknowledge the cheesiness sound of Hail to the Victors I'm good. Besides...it's all about the highlights until the season starts again. Go Blue!
Apologies for the terrible rendition of Hail to the Victors. I was in a big rush to get this video out, and, at the time, a violin + piano + cymbals rendition sounded good, but I ended up making a big mess. My goal is to release a new version with highlights from OSU and the Rose Bowl, and a better soundtrack.

All in all, Breaston has always been a bit of a disappointment though. Disappears for 3 games at a time then has a great one. I think everybody thought he'd have a better career after his strong freshman season.
Michigan is a football team that plays field-position and smash-mouth football. Even if "Stevie Wonderful" doesn't score on punt or kick returns he's always been a field position monster so that Michigan wouldn't have to go on 80-yard drives all day. Fuck Theeeee Ohio State Fuckeyes. Shawn Crable did nothing wrong. Everybody just wanted to see lame ass ohio state win another championship. And doting the I in script ohio is the gayest shit out of all the sports rituals i've ever seen.
Did you even watch the video? He was one part of the "take your poison" offense (Hart, Manningham, Arrington, Breaston) for Michigan, which put up 39 points against a team that gave up an average of 7 a game. The playing surface was a disgrace, which hurt Breaston more than anyone else on offense, since they rely on cutting and juking. Breaston had a touchdown run that was somehow "indisputably reversed", and would've had a 1st down with a chance to take the lead, when the turf gave way.
Breaston never quite did anything "worth while" vs. OSU. KH was sort of right....ya know? And the F...eyes comment is just ignorance speaking. GO BLUE!!
Here's to hoping Notre Dame does Michigan a huge favor this Saturday. An LSU win over Arkansas on Friday, and then an Arkansas win in the SEC championship would cement the deal, but I think USC is the only team that deserves a chance to steal the #2 seed, although that stretch of games involving Washington State, Washington, Arizona and Oregon State didn't exactly scream out "National Title Contender".
