  • I recently ordered some of the same substrate and plan on using it for my 55g but for now starting with my 10g. Question, how do you clean it? Same as gravel? Just use a gravel pump, maybe attack some kind of filter so the sand doesn't get sucked up? Any advice on that or maintanence?

  • @euqrilius The Tahitian moon sand was a very nice LOOKING sand but it has some magnetic properties and will always get stuck to your mag float. When using sand as a substrate you can not clean the sand the same way you would with a gravel val because you will suck up sand. What I did was to get a syphon hose and use it to precisley skim the surface of the sand so you only suck up the waste and not the sand. Hover the hose about 1/2 to 1" inch above the sand and it will suck up the waste.

  • @regric25 Nice, I thought about that was well. So have you got any recent vids to post? Or new tanks?

  • very nice looking tank. i really love the black gravel
