I don't even think Michael D'Angelo or whatever his name is can top this. For me, Paul Gilbert is simply the fastest and most adept guitarist. Not sure if anyone is better than Eddie Van Halen at tapping, but I haven't seen this guy tap yet.

I think you mean Micheal Angelo Batio. To me comparing guitarists is srupid. Each have their own distinctive styles that seperate them. Yngwie has his classical touch and speed. EVH has his tapping. Gilbert has his string skipping technique, and so forth. TO say one is better than the other doesnt make sense to me. For EVH to try to sound like Yngwie, or vise versa would suck.

Paul has been playing music for *years*. This is a guitar solo at a concert in Japan with a band he parted ways with over a decade ago. His solo stuff is excellent. For being one of the best shredders ever, the amount of restraint he can exercise is phenomenal.
