well... the culture of vikings I guess is largely based on warfare as you look at their wellcrafted chainmails, strong swords, special shields and longboats. And it depends on which viking you take, If you take a jearl or a king's son, i dunno, but I guess they are trained as good as samurai. Plus having more weight, strength (they eat fat fish instead of rice xD) and endurance AND better armor (I don't recall samurai using shields) I guess a viking has a pretty good chance of bestng a samurai

There is only one mail shirt and only one helmet found that can be reliably dated to the viking age, and that's the Gjermundbu find. They did not have "special shields", they had big, hand held round shields. Nothing "special" about them as such. Their longboats were of excellent construction, but they were not warships. Most viking armours were wool paddings, not metal.
As for "they eat fat fish instead of rice", that is just a dumb comment. Fish was the saple diet of the Norse, AND it was the staple diet of the Japanese. The Norse ate bread with their fish, the Japanese ate rice with their fish. The Norse also had red meat and fowl in their diet, but it is very questionable if diet is a big factor when explaining height differences between two ethnicities.

The viking was every bit as skillful as the Samurai and had just as much experience in warfare if not more.The Viking style was superior to the Japanese and armor would not have been an issue.

His martial art was partially inspired by and drew extensively from european fencing and boxing techniques, and discarded a large portion of traditional eastern martial arts techniques. In his own words, "Keep what is useful, and discard what is useless." And he saw many of EMA techniques as useless fluff and flash. Jeet Kun Do is neither eastern, nor western, but a combination of both.
the samurai were more well trained with the sword but the viking berserkers were just fucking insane and i feel that maybe the battle tactics would have been an even match i just feel that the samurai would have been overrun
