  • Exactly!

  • Trust is the most difficult obstacle in communication these days..In the 60's people used to be nice, cooperative and heart warming. Look at nowadays.. what a bunch of sad saps. I can't work with none of my current team members because they are all such apathetic robots. You can't trust people these days. You just can't. Everyone is fake.

  • @0x28 i think it is worse than that. ppl are fake only sometimes, when it suits their purpose....one can't even be sure of that anymore.

  • "the best ideas have to win" RESPECT !!!

  • Does that mean there's a group working on iPad hardware, another group working on iPhone hardware, yet one group working on both iPhone & iPad software - the people who head iOS software?

  • RIP Steve

  • Allowing everyone on your team to have a voice and express their idea is a great. Trusting your employees to work independently instead of micromanaging them can prove to be very effective

  • lol he should have taken a look at the factories where his beloved products were made. They fuckin have nets around buildings because of the high sucuide rates...

  • @KingLC90 please back up your claims with facts and proof.

  • @hannibullster typ in at google suicide nets foxconn read the article of the guardian

  • @hannibullster or watch the daily show episode 01-16-12

  • @KingLC90 Ok, so there are BAD companies and countries where things are produced and people are mistreated. This isn't a new concept and has been going on since the Egyptian civilization. I'm not condoning these practices but I fail to see how this is Apple's fault. Apple is doing way more then most companies to try and stop/influence these practices. Ultimately, it's these companies and countries, (actually the people that run them) that allow these things to happen.

  • @KingLC90 As China's largest exporter, only the government employs more people than Foxconn, and the company earns more revenue than their next 10 competitors combined. Apple may be their most famous customer, but Foxconn also churns out products for Sony, Dell, HP, IBM, Motorola, Toshiba and other major brands, keeping the details of each production line wrapped in total secrecy. At least Apple is doing something about improving the conditions in it's suppliers. What are other companies doing?

  • It's too bad that more companies/employers don't treat their employees with the respect that Steve Jobs speaks of - allowing the employees to question him and him being open to their ideas and allowing them to make decisions. Trust and teamwork need to start at the top, leading by example.

  • @melfris that was sarcasm right?

  • MrExpertPerfect, lol I have settled down.

Believe it or not, we need God.

  • What does the Lord require of you but to do justly,

to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

    Micah 6:8

  • @Loretta7718 Settle down.

  • HOOHHOHOOH! Zero communities rocks! Dell IT has like hundreds of all-kind communities and this is why they don't work out!

  • From what I understand (after reading his biography) Jobs was like a flywheel. At apple they had a great team of engineers programmers and designers but they needed someone to push them to be better when needed.

  • IF YOUR GOING TO POST HATE COMMENTS THEN YOU CAN FUCK OFF INSTEAD OF TROLLING ON OTHER PEOPLES VIDEOS AND CRITICISE PEOPLE THAT CHANGED THE WORLD THAT WE LIVE IN FOR THE GOOD OF HUMANITY.

  • the word of his saying 'let our great worker make critical decisions' is literary easy to say but hard to do because 99% of company's bosses want to do what they want to do for their company, I mean they want to dominate their own company. Giving workers a lot of space for making decision is really wonderful idea to keep them stay there and grow their company.

  • Run by IDEAS, not HIERARCHY...

should print this on our shirts and wear is to our boss =D

  • Steve Jobs was a man who shaped lives, who created new careers, who helped young & old creative people CREATE better and outstanding work, a man who had a vision that very a few human being from this century had the privilege to have and share with the world, Steve Jobs was more than softwares, laptops or phones, he was a visionary, a paradigm breaker, he was the kind of human being that was smart enough to know that we are born to follow our bliss, create and share. RIP Steve, Respect. Thanks!

  • the man

  • "The best ideas have to win." If only congress would heed that advice instead of the two parties battling back and forth to see who's ideology can be forced upon the country.

  • Steve Jobs is an amazing guy and did some good stuff.

  • well, I don't buy it really. I think people can express their ideas and stand up to him, but in the end he decided what happened and what didn't. Thats fair though... I think it is a good way to operate. If you can convince him, he will buy into your idea, but you better damn well know what you're talking about or he'd eaten you alive. I don't know this, but its the feeling I get from what things other said about him... whatever it may be, from a business standpoint he sure showed the success..

  • As much as I despise pretentious Apple bullshit and Mac fags, I gotta say at least this asshole knew how to run a company (brought it back from the brink) and without him Apple is going to sink.

  • Who was this guy??.. I know he made the iPhone and stuff but is that it.

  • @M2Shab he is the reason why we use computers today

  • @M2Shab ... die.... please?

  • @smoshfan10 Dude.. serious -.-''

  • @M2Shab No.... but google is your friend.

  • I would have loved to have seen a day in the life of Steve Jobs.

  • @db11289 creative genius plus ruthless commandant who prolly gave himself cancer from all the stress.

  • LOL ... no committees huh , Steve just barges in yells at everyone and orders everyone to do whatever he wants! ;-) That's the way the books makes it sound anyway. But, that was the magic that Apple had, even if he was an SOB to people, he had a single vision that he could enforce because of who he was and his poltiical cache ... that he earned. What a shame that he is gone now. Now, Apple is missing that and will sink the level of all the other S.V. companies, very concerned 4 the future.

  • @justgivemethetruth Apple sinking to 'their" level ay? Me thinks they are already below that level charing 2500 per laptop.

  • Yeah, and I bet your janitor has a mop bucket 39 years old.

  • Steve, you are a great teacher for anyone who is willing to listen. Thank you good Sir. May you Rest in Peace. You will surely missed by the billions who have been touched by your work and by your teachings.

  • Control freak...Without a committee he could be the boss of everything, an absolute monarchy

  • he sounds JUST like todd howard of skyrim. EXACTLY.

  • The person in charge of Safari is an idiot and is blowing it bigtime.

  • @justgivemethetruth I agree, it's one of few Apple products I don't like much :/

  • @justgivemethetruth lol I am using safari as we speak but ya I agree

  • @justgivemethetruth Oh come on, it's not that bad. At least it doesn't fail at storing logins, like Chromes does. Just wish the Windows version would support the OSX font rendering instead of Cleartype, Apple font rendering looks much better.

  • @BaldingEagle51 I agree, I can't fault it. Safari is fine. Most users don't even know what a web browser is, they simply use IE and call that 'the internet' and type web addresses in. No real problems with safari mentioned, or are apparent, even to media. Yet 48 up votes for 'blowing it big time' yeah whatever kids. You're in the cool browser club.

  • his beard looks like it would be really soft even though they are whiskers

  • @skullja1 he was truly a great man

  • Brilliant man he was.....and that breaks my heart to use the past tense!

A serious innovator and all round good guy.

    Peace be with you.

  • Even if he was a sort of "Genious" he was still for me a nice expensive toy maker for rich kids who did not really care about the effect his stuff could have on the planet.

His view about business and huge profits was for me something completly to the opposite of the first physolophy of Apple.

  • @MrBadgamon Read what you wrote. And Luckily you will detect your complex of inferiority. What;s wrong with you people? "A toy maker for rich kids"? what an ignorant comment.

  • @chelilandia

Actually everything Apple makes apart from the Mac is a toy. The Mac isn't even a serious contender in the computer market.

  • @MoronAntidote If the Mac isn't a serious contender then wouldn't it too be a toy? Contradicting yourself is always a sign of a serious and good debater.

  • @MrBadgamon lmao at you

  • at the end,I must ask him,in whose eyes would judge the best idea? you or them?

  • Most people do not understand software so it gives the business the freedom to act like a black box (money in and product out) instead of being micromanaged and scrutinized by side-liners.

Just like a start-up, nobody cares how they do it. Everyone just wants the shiny new product. No peer-pressure and no appearances to keep up in the business world.

BUT DO NOT SPEW YOUR ANTI-ESTABLISHMENT BULLSHIT. IT DOESN'T WORK LIKE THAT FOR NON-CREATIVE BUSINESSES SO SHUT THE FUCK UP ALREADY.

  • please can anybody tell me which show is this?? what is it called?

  • @ratilc

digital 8, go to allthingsd[dot]com, and you will see, they have many interviews with Steve jobs.

  • ironic thing about this video is that most of his employees actually disliked him...

  • @elemental12345678900

That does not matter. Not one bit. It doesn't matter if he got their best. Because we got their best.

Practically none of Patton's subordinates "liked" him. But Patton's forces kicked ass as a collective.

    Just like Apple.

  • @TheJediCharles yeah but we got their best in short run, in the long run they just said fuck it, hence apple`s demise is already calculated within the next 5 yrs

  • @elemental12345678900

People like yourself amazes me. To look at Jobs and Apple and see failure... you're flying in the face of reality.

Was he a saint? Does he deserve all this adulation? Was he perfect? Jeez looeez, of course not!

But people like yourself is obviously even more wrong, to counter undue admiration with negative crap nobody but a drop of sense would believe.

    Good day.

  • @TheJediCharles still doesnt change the fact that Apple will lose its market share and innovation within the next 5 yrs

  • @elemental12345678900

I don't get it. Is your argument that Jobs should have been more likable or that he should never die?

  • Much as I dislike the man , I have to agree he make sense here , everyone have to play a part and deliver , can't hold hands and baby sit all the time :(

  • its sad that his inovative ideas will be ultimatly be used for evil.

  • gotta love Walter Mossberg

  • I love this!

  • Amitoufo!Amitoufo!Amitoufo!

  • Who was in charge of the suicide nets?

  • He's obviously really sick during this time...but look at the man's passion. His sickness is invisible when he's talking about his baby - Apple.

  • I'm on Windows....

  • Where can I watch this full episode

  • Every monday all directors go through whole business again and again 52 times a year for three to four products a year and all of them know every change made in the past week and they love it

  • I laughed at 0:06 ... collaborative my ass... This was apple: Steve Jobs marching down an endless aisle of programmers with a horse-whip in his hand.

  • @RedChilliGod You know this from your extensive experience working at Apple right? No? Oh, then you're just talking out of your ass. Incredible how so many people feel the need to spit on the man in any way possible after his death.

  • @Slurpy2k8 Actually I have friends who work at apple, and they say they're made to work days, nights, even in the weekend with ruthless expectations. Dick.

  • @RedChilliGod And I think you're lying. I find it difficult to believe you know not one, but multiple friends working at Apple, and they all conveniently share their horrible experiences with you, and they all just happen to have first hand experience working with the man? Anyway, chances are you're lying, and are trying to justify your trolling and personal vendetta against Apple/Jobs, something common on the internet. Pathetic.

  • @Slurpy2k8 lol whatever. i was a computer science major, theyre my friends. they dont find it horrible, they just told me how it is, and i think its horrible.

  • 0 committees. Love it.

  • Brilliant insight. Ideas not hierarchy. Wow. Truly amazing, take the ego out of it, the best idea wins. I have a lot of respect for his genius. There's a guy who "got it". For the average biz douches, you could learn something from this man.

  • Jobs was trying to say that the his company is a state of anarchy. The problem is, he hid his company's structure away from others so no one actually knew what it was like to be in the company. Actions speak louder than words Steve.

  • Steve Jobs. You are The CEO.Much to learn from u.

  • The only thing he was a genius at was marketing.

  • @pyromanizak ... that is good enough.

  • A great man. GREATLY MISSED.

  • @chelilandia I appreciate he was a respected business man and has made a huge impact on the technology world..but get off his dick seriously. It wasn't like he was your best mate

  • @NUNCLEFRITZ lol i can't wait for someone to say that about you when you're gone

  • @NUNCLEFRITZ who are you, and what have you done?

  • @drbic246 I'M YOUR ARYAN MASTER, AND I TAKE IT THAT YOU ARE A JEW GAYLORD SODOMITE LIKE THE POOF JOBS.

  • @NUNCLEFRITZ Your wisdom and great intelligence is shown in your ignorant comment. Salut !!

  • Trusting that they're going to come up with their part.

  • We miss you Steve.

  • people below me stop trolling get a better hobby

  • @shewolfen1 nice try

  • @shewolfen1 Did you just try and spell ignorant?

  • soshal.info it must have been an awesome experience to work with steve jobs!

  • @shewolfen1 You don't even know what your fucking talking about.

  • @shewolfen1 DON'T RAISE YOUR VOICE WITH ME!!!!!! Just kidding I never said I used PCs, I wish I had a PC I have a shitty macbook pro, PCs are infinatley better than Macs. Name a catagory I'll tell you hows it's better. "the buffoon" I never mentioned that. No the chinese would not say that I'm sure if they have safety nets to prevent them from commiting suicide they would not be to happy. I'm not American I'm English; UK bro. And I think you meant to say chinese wallowing in poverty.

  • @shewolfen1 @shewolfen1 How about you enroll in not being a douche by taking your CAPS off. idiot

  • @shewolfen1 well how if steve jobs died

  • "We manage our chinese slaves very well. We give them 64 hour shifts and 1 peice of bread a week."

  • @shewolfen1

    It's time to stop commenting.

  • @shewolfen1 - oh man you're like a 9/11 conspiracy nut. Non its Microsoft employees in disguise. Coo-Koo, Coo-Koo.

If you knew anything of importance about Apple you would know current Apple employees have to sign non-disclosure agreements to dispel corporate espionage. But in the earlier years and before the creation of the iPhone, not all employees had to sign them.

Again, get off the caps lock.

  • This man truly was a genius just from listening to him.

Committees and hierarchies are just pretentious pillars waiting to collapse...it really is about trustfully allowing the right talent to exercise their imagination freely, without constant surveillance.

Far too many leaders look for yesmen and robots, and always gravitate towards solutions within the box...and that's why far too many of them fail.

Sometimes the most brilliant solution is the simplest...Steve Jobs gets [got] it.

  • @shewolfen1 - I did my research - you obviously have not done yours. A simple "non Google" search of ex-apple employees + Steve Jobs tells you all you need to know. Plus if were following Apple in the early years as I was - you would have read the trade articles on the troubles at Apple with Jobs and how he treated people. Lets get this straight - Jobs was no saint. For you to believe otherwise shows either 1. you need a real life or 2. you're off your meds again.

  • very smart and talented guy, wish i could be like him

  • CANCERS A BITCH

    R.I.P Steve!! :(

  • If you ever have an interview for a managerial position or a team work based , then do your best to reword some passages of this phrase in your interview. Great teams are ruled by great ideas not hierarchy.

  • i miss him

  • @shewolfen1

"SO WHAT MAKES YOU THE AUTHORITY TO TELL ME STEVE IS ONE????"

    Because FUCK YOU THAT'S WHY!!

  • "The best ideas have to win, otherwise good people don't stay"

  • @shewolfen1 - "Steve" so you were on a first name basis with him. What is your fascination with protecting the reputation of person you didn't even know? Nobody is perfect - Jobs included. Its fact that he treated alot of his employees like crap and butted heads with other partners on a continual basis. Just do some friggin' research.

  • @shewolfen1 - I said "part of the reason" not THE reason. And take your keyboard off the Caps Lock.

  • Love HiM hate- HiM. The man was highly intelligent. And for the ones who hate him.......Really, his STEVE JOBS and your on YT watching a video about him.

  • jesus so many cap locks!

  • @shewolfen1 - wow... are you in his will or something? why are you yelling in CAPS? no more caffeine for you OK?.

Geez...Just do some simple research online and you'll find numerous articles about Jobs and how he treated employees at Apple. Part of the reason he was fired the first time was because of his treatment of employees and partners. One can be driven and a perfectionist without being a jerk.

  • inspirational in every way

  • Comment removed

  • @shewolfen1 haha, hey "smart guy", you think chaos will ensue? brilliant? haha. so therefore it means every other company, which doesnt do "Steves Way" is full of chaos? Apple did brainwash you. stop praising Apple please, its sickening. ... please name a company which is full of chaos. i mean a BIG company like Google etc.. If they all do like Steve did it THEN THERE IS NOTHING SPECIAL ABOUT IT. >> This was my point. Do you get it? Greetings from Germany.

  • @shewolfen1 - is it really that hard for you to except that? He wasn't a God, he was a human being, a flawed human being in MANY respects. There have been numerous stories on Apple employees recounting interactions with Jobs.

On one hand I can see his method as devotion to the company, maintaining quality control of his ideas and not producing crap products, but you can do that in such a way that people who work for you don't dread you showing up to your own company.

  • Simple but wise

  • @shewolfen1 - tinyurl(dot)com/6l2mc3l

  • Incredible, a business model to emulate. I think apple will decline without Jobs as Disney has. Gone the genius, gone the Napoleon.

  • One person is in charge of ... one person is in charge of ... what is so special about that? how silly.

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you Steve!

  • @shewolfen1

Do not worry. Steve had time. He knew that he does not take long. He has taken precautions. There are a legion of angels in the mother ship, carry on his mission. And with Tim, Steve has chosen the best pirate in order to steer the Apple ship safely through the rough seas of the global future.

  • @Alcatrazz013

    That's the truth. Thank you.

  • Jobs makes it seems like he's this great guy to work for. Ask the people who have worked for Apple (who didn't have to sign confidentiality agreements) who clearly state he was anything but a nice guy to his employees. He routinely insulted, berated and verbally abused employees. People dreaded his arrival at Apple. Basically he was an a-hole to work for.

    Genius, Innovator, Inventor - Yes.

    Nice human being - No.

  • @RocktheStageNYC Sounds like Hitler ...

  • @diewahrheitistnochda - well not exactly. He just ruled Apple in a very negative way.

  • @RocktheStageNYC To be this A-hole, Steve had to learn the hard way. Once the betrayal by Gates, then won the lawsuit because of the Windows GUI without being compensated, and the rift with Apple in 1985 by its own board. Then there was nothing which could fool him again. He could always feel what´s goin on. Actors had no chance. Be honest and open, bringing in your complete devotion to the company and Steve did everything to get the best out of someone. Some had reasons to be afraid of Steve.

  • @Lightfromsirius - he was partially fired from Apple because he was such an A-hole to the staff and his fellow partners. This is one thing you cannot say about Bill Gates. He has NEVER demeaned Apple of Jobs publicly - class act. You can't say the same of Job. He was a jerk. A genius jerk.

  • @RocktheStageNYC If there was pure democracy in Apple, you would probably not be able to post this comment from an i-phone...

  • @dimakos33 - thats why I am on a PC.

  • @RocktheStageNYC If you are a talent, you want a talent like him to be really appreciated. I rather have the rude boss call me out and tell me that I am not on the same page!

  • @ichoudhury007 - being stubborn in wanting your company, your products and your employees to live up to your standards is fine - but there's a right way and wrong way to do it. Jobs was VERY difficult to work for. Demanding the upmost for your company is one thing, but berating, insulting and demeaning those who work for you is not a way to do business effectively. You don't hear this kind of talk about Gates.

  • Last line says a lot about bad management types :"Of course I contribute ideas, otherwise why would I be there?"

  • he sounds like otacon here

  • @DaGleese haha true

  • he looks like Gandhi here

  • R.I.P Steve Jobs=[

  • People say "sky is the limit", he's far beyond that.

And he proved the sky is NOT the limit

    RIP Steve

  • Great advice from a great guy! R.I.P. Steve.

  • People care too much about whether Steve Jobs and apple were and still are a viable and ethical company.

Calm down. Nobody cares. If you want an apple product, buy one.

  • If i had a barny with my boss id be hitting the unemployment line before the bitch had finished.

  • I thought this was a video about how to manage slave labor in China, building iPhones in deplorable conditions, pennies a day in filth, 7 days a week, in conditions soo bad that they need to build suicide nets to prevent the thousands of previous workers that already killed themselves. But instead it was about how benevolent he is to his fellow coworkers. I love living in the matrix. Reality is over-rated anyway.
