The new version of Scherlock Holmes it`s acctually not a Scherlock Holmes movie, What sup with the American Movie industry? is there no more original Films? doesn`t have any sense of respect, the US Film industry? this is just more "striking", BUT it`s not the Arthur Conan Doyle`s "Scherlock Holmes". Hope "the girl with the Dragoon Tatoo"(Milenium) will be less comercial.
@flashite If they used the same stories from the book exactly it wld be too repetitive. So they take certain things from the books to put in the film. You can see similarities. True it's not exactly the same, but if you want that u can watch the old tv series of Sherlock Holmes. But the movie is a Sherlock Holmes movie...just not grounded in from the books that much.
@TheLegoFan1 but is it?, i can remember the real scherlock holmes being more a thinker than a fighter, it was that, that made a scherlock holmes movie... i don`t like the US way of filmmaking: "let`s do a remake from this movie, but let`s change this, this and this", it`s like mutating a perfectly fine piece of art, into something comercial and striking, don`t you think?, i don`t think it woulnd`t be too repetitive, because every director think differently. take for example lolita(both versions)
@flashite yes he was a thinker more, but he still could fight. Watson mentioned he was a bareknuckle boxer and a singlestick fighter if I'm not mistaken. and besides, the film wanted to show the younger Holmes or somethin like that...with more action to show what Holmes could actually do.
@TheLegoFan1 i don`t how can u say "the film wanted to show the younger Holmes or somethin like that", he is not younger in this films, and he is not holmes in this film, younger nor older was he a fighter. i must mention this movie was really good i liked it(favorite director guy ritchie), but it`s not scherlock holmes.
