  • i love when shes trying to get the fur out of her mouth :P so adorable :)

  • shockingly there are only about 35 left! (could be even less!) Beautiful animals, and I think thanks to the amazing work bbc documentaries and most of all david attenborough people are getting more and more aware of what is actually happening outside their little homes, what is happening to our nature!

  • about to adopt one of these amazing cats of wwf cant wait. Hope the population increases rapidly , cant believe what the "smartest" species on earth have done. we should be the next to become extinct.

  • fuck this shit project. but yeah. you have to be a dick and all to kill one of these.

  • You are a complete dick to kill one of those

  • WHAT A DISGRACE HUMANKIND IS TO THINK THAT THIS WORLD IS OURS TO DO WITH AS WE PLEASE. WHAT A SELFISH, DISRESPECTFUL, UNGRATEFUL SPECIES WE ARE BUT WE WILL ALL BE GONE ONE DAY FOR CERTAIN IF WE CARRY ON THIS WAY AND EVOLOUTION WILL HAVE TO START AGAIN WITH WHAT WE LEAVE IF ANYTHING

  • My dads friend has one in captivity and he wanted to breed it with one in canada, but they wouldn't let him bring it across the border... :(

  • @AtDeathsDoor98 IT'S BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE YOUR DAD THINKING THEY CAN OWN SUCH A MAGNIFICENT ANIMAL THAT IS THE CAUSE OF THEM BEING TAKEN FROM THE WILD. ALL BIG CATS SHOULD BE PROTECTED AND WILD AND FREE, THEY ARE NOT PETS AND IN THE WILD THEY HAVE VAST TERRITORY THAT THEY TRAVEL THROUGH.... NO CAGE WILL EVER BE THE SAME - GIVEN THAT THESE ANIMALS ARE DOWN TO JUST 35 - 40 LEFT IN THE WILD.... IT IS CRIMINAL THAT ANYONE OWNS ONE PRIVATELY

  • @Sanghoma first of all my dad does not own it, HIS FRIEND owns it and raised it from birth. Its not like he went and took it from its habitat with no good reason. Plus he cares for the species and wanted to breed it to help the species live on. Obviously they arent doing too well where they are now so unless someone takes them and breeds them safely elsewhere they will surely become extinct.

  • @AtDeathsDoor98 that was difficult to assertain from your initial comment but stil every one of them is invaluable & should in full time breeding programmes. The loss of this species is simply unacceptable

  • Please donate. Save this beutiful leopard.

  • legit ass cat

  • Im crying :(

  • WHO THE HELL dislike this video.I'm going to haunt this person!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What is the problem with these people? They continue to kill what is so important and beautiful in nature. It makes me sick to think of the end of such a marvelous cat. The only hope is the Zoo. Because man will not let them remain in their natural habitat.

  • There Is Only 30 Left Now..:(

  • if it weren't for the evil horrid mean cruel poachers!

  • @99cutepanda

Shouldn't blame poacher, should blame consumer. Poaching will stop if demand stop.

  • @zenniz1992 yeah but if poachers stopped killing, people would have to stop buying

  • It's a shame that the amur leopard has been hunted to extinction in china and the koreas, and now only about 40 are left in the Amur region of Russia. Now the chinese poachers are illegally crossing the border to hunt these rare animals. The Russian government should send troops to protect the border because also siberian tigers, musk deer and other rare animals are being hunted by these poachers.

  • Could they be more breathtaking?

I don't believe in God, but if it exists and if there are heavens, I hope it is filled with these creatures and the rest of animals, instead of a bunch of destructive and annoying humans who just consume, kill, destroy and pollute.

  • I've heard that there are only 30 left in the wild. Somebody tell me I heard wrong and that there are still thousands left! D':

  • @DaedalusSlayer There are about 300 of them in European zoos at the moment. Not a huge amount, but at the very least the conditions are much more controlled than in the wild. Hopefully the zoos can repopulate these cats!

  • @shockwave9000 Serious? :D I'm glad there aren't five left or something...

Ps. is your username based on the decepticon transformer?

  • @DaedalusSlayer Yessir! 300 in captivity is certainly better than nothing! It's a shame that it's come to needing to rely on that, though. :-/ And my username is not a nod toward Shockwave from Transformers, hehe. It was a gamertag I made up when I was around 12 years old to play Duke Nukem 3D multiplayer matches with folks! I suppose it just stuck.

  • That is so sad. It's terrible to think of the people destroying their homes...

  • Donated at amur-leopard(dot)org

  • so what the hell the men create he cloning ? now is when should be use the cloning .for extinct species... no for to colne evil people like bush ...

  • @SLAZHER62 Cloning produces an exact copy of said cloned animal. There would be no gene diversity, thus no sustainable species. Wishful thinking though. :)

And who ever said they were going to clone George Bush?

  • @FatRedneckTerrorist Best way is to beat greedynes and doing somthing about the poor, for real , not the shitty save afrika etc actions that are held now.

But the verry best thing to do for nature is if people wil al die the are just way to much people on the planet,

But killing a proacher is creul those people are verry poor, and need the money to survive, if somone must get kild imo its the poeple we want the fur ans other parts of the animal

  • @Bengaalkat yea everything you said is pretty true and i agree with you. sadly it seems the only way nature will once again rule will be once humans go extinct.

  • No wonder they look depressed...

  • 1% of the World poulation own 99% of the World. There greed and addiction to money and power cause those without to turn to what ever measures to survive. Until the 1% are done away with and a moral and just system is installed, the 6th great mass extinction of species on this planet will continue unabaited.

  • how about instead of wasting trillions on these silly wars, we use that money to save animals like these so they can repopulate

  • @FatRedneckTerrorist well i agree but execution sounds a little too harsh, maybe the poacher should be imprisoned 10 years for a near threatened species, 15 years for an endangered species and 20 years for a critically endangered species.

but you cant really blame all the poachers, some are being paid money by black marketers selling fur, and without this money they would not be able to feed their family.

but i do agree with you mostly :)

  • they are soo beautiful and this is the first time Ive heard of them and their situation on Planet Earth from Animal Planet.

I am so sick and tired of the harmless and innocent that suffering and dying out because almost all people can't get their act together. There are less than 100 in the wild and I dont know how many in captivity.

  • I will break fingers who put -1 for this vid!

  • fuck humans

  • Just seen one of these in marwell zoo ,filling his face on a massive chunk of meat..

  • only like 36 left i the wild from what i read

  • I don't know what we can do to save these gorgeous animals, but we must try SOMETHING. Especially if there's only 40 of them left

    -kendra <3

  • @tintin8ify As soon as mankind put their hand on nature he/she ruins it, It would have been better if man never had evolved from ape and the planets wildlife would be safe from the monsters we have become.....

  • @Wullieboy919 soz i never ment to reply that to you :)

  • The sad part is that people only care about the charismatic animals like these, because they're pretty we like them. But thousands of other species are threatened with extinction: things like frogs, which play vital roles in their ecosystem, but just don't have the same on-screen allure.

Btw. this is from the BBC's Planet Earth programme, which is definitely worth watching all the way through.

  • @tSp289 thank you! what organization do you support?

  • @superepicfuntime I give a bit of money to Greenpeace and WWF from time to time, but I'm a poor student so it's not often. I'm studying environmental science and sociology/anthropology with the aim of doing something constructive in this area.

  • @tSp289 how do you make donations from "time to time?" wtf they never accept my offers and tell me that i have to sign up and make monthly donations that i'm way to poor for. are these the guys you see outside trader-joe's we're talking about?

  • @superepicfuntime You can make one-off donations, and buy from their gift shops etc, both of which I have done. And no, I never respond to charity muggers, because even though their cause is good, I don't like the way they exploit peoples' politeness by intentionally ignoring the 'I don't want to talk to you' signals they give off. They can't accept one-offs on the street because there's some law against it, I think, but they can by post and online.

  • ohh... the arrogance of the human species... stop getting in the way of nature and let those animals go away gracefully.

  • What a beautiful and perfect animal...we have the save it!!!!Mankind is destroying everything..

  • there were 40 left 3 years ago?!?!?! fffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuu-

  • hey, i thought the iberian lynx was the rarerest cat....

  • So beautiful. We need more of these around !! D:

  • Many thanks for this upload.

    What beautiful creatures.

I hope they will survive us.

  • last count of the armur leopard was about 34 individuals (2006) in Russia (7 female). If there are some isolated Armur Leopards still holding out in North Korea is not sure. Most propably not. In 2007 there was a female individual found dead. It was shot and then killed with a heavy object, most propably a big hammer. Russian Rangers believe that local farmers are responcible for that, due to they didn't took the skin.

  • ah! you cut it off! damn :(

I saw this on tv and got teary-eyed, realizing that this may actually be the last video ever of wild Amur leopards...

  • these cats are beautiful, thats why i just ordered an amur leopard suit

  • What magnificent animals.

  • The Danish Company holmelund-jagtrejser is arranging hunting tours to these areas where these threatened animals live. How can this be leagal?

  • they sure would be nice on a sandwich

  • wow , they are so beautiful , why dont they just put like 4 amur leopards in yellowstone , 3 female's and 1 male , and everytime a newborn gets to the age of 2 bring him or the parents back to the natural habitat and let the other stay in yellowstone , the conditions are way more easyer there in yellowstone. it might help.

  • @nafaka12 lmao! Like a penguin would survive in the amazone river just because they climate might be better? xDDDDD

  • The average human isn't gonna pay attention to the little things Money and Power are all they care about, But the ones that do pay attention are the real heroes of the world.

  • The American self-centered capitalists are only using wildlife conservation as a cover to maximize their profits. First they claim that Amur Leopards are going extinct and need to be saved; and the next thing they do is to transfer half of the Amur Leopards in the most famous Zoos around the world. Is that how they wanted to save the Leopard?

I pity both Tigers and Amur Leopards because only a few of them exist in the wild whereas hundreds and thousands of them are in the zoos.

  • Such awesome animals are getting wasted for the entertainment of stupid humans. Their primary role is in the ecology of the wild, not in the circus or zoo. At least if there were more of these animals in the wild than in enclosures, then it could still be some how justified. But not with majority of their species rotting in enclosures whereas only a few of them living the life they should live.

  • Comment removed

  • Humans are the worst animals on this planet, and Earth would be much better off without them. Never has one species negatively affected this planet as much as we have. And yet it continues. How unfortunate... We'll soon add Amur Leopards to the list of recently extinct species such as the Baiji River Dolphin, Javan Tiger, Pyrenean Ibex, and many other animals which have disappeared over the last century as a direct result of human interaction.

  • @Bloodflame

Humans are such funny creatures. First they worked hard in the beginning of this century to exterminate all these species with their retarded and coward hunters pursuing these animals and shooting them for fun or coat, and now they have got "sense" and are trying to save them.

  • Idiot Chinese people! Making leopard organs into weird medicine

  • @EricFabian123 but still if they die out we can put other

leopard species to replace their role

  • Humans are NOT the smartest creature on earth! Thats a FACT! Just look at what we do to other living creatures. The most pathetic, insensitive and insecure people abuse animals. All the beauty in this world is slowly being destroyed in front of our eyes. WAKE UP PEOPLE

  • You know what? With the amount of imbecile humans on this planet, I heavily doubt there's any hope for these cats... or hope for any animal, if that defines our stupidity accurately.

  • they should put a population limit on the planet and each country, i know it will never happen but its the only way to have a world with animals other than us and livestock.

and i think china and india sould just kill of 500million people each and i dont realy give a fuck in them dieing the only way it would effect me is nike shoes would become a little more expencive and the world would become a better place

  • @virdarkruner If this is your belief then why dont you volunteer yourself to be part of that 500 million.

  • @coltleader i will if they do

  • I like these Leopards more than the ones that're in Africa.

  • poor leopard... it's almost extinct :(

    why nobody do something??

  • @with0miley

    we DID something

we pushed them to extinction lol

  • Another joke, I'm not saying the Amur Leopard isn't rare. I am saying it ISN'T the rarest cat in the world. Just be honest and everything will be good....lol. There are other smaller wild cats(not feral) that are beyond even saving let alone seeing and taping them in the wild. Crap, an animal species goes extinct every other day....because of deforestation and mining and over population from us stupid people.....carry on....At least we HAVE birth control, I guess we don't use it enough.

  • another animal which faces the danger of extinction...i hope it can be saved!if its not too late!both russia and china must unite their powers to protect it because this planet does not need only weapons and money!same goes for all countries that are just spectators on the same act!

  • they are killing one faces huge fines and penalties and they are getting sperm from the zoos and inseminating females

  • someone should make a virus like in 12 monkeys that wipes out humanity

  • that is a brown snow leopard. they look very similar

  • lol I don't think Sir David Attenborough makes mistakes.. ;p he's THE voice of naturedocumentaries in my opinion

  • poor leopards

  • I've been writing a research/grant paper for the past couple months on the Amur leopard. In my paper I discuss that my university should create a wild breeding exhibit for these leopards. These big cats would "not" be held in captivity for long; they're hunting and survival instincts would still be fresh. I'm hoping to breed more Amur leopard's then releasing them back into the wild, repopulating the species overtime.

  • also I cant understand hunters who kill them for fun. Two cats were found dead this year, somebody just shot them. One female was pregnant.

I really feel pain when I think they can extinct. ((((( I wish there would be a miracle. They used to live all over Manchzhuria and Korean peninsula(((( But Asians wiped them out((((( Same happening in Russia(((( I wonder is there anything one do to help them?

  • there were so many burned woods this year, its habitat is dimishing again. I wish I had money to help to project for saving this wonderful creature.

Fucking farmers continue to burn grass, I hate this worms

  • A cat is like butter melting into the brush

    So slinky and velvety

    He disappears

    Into a soft smooth wind

  • It just absolutely breaks my heart to watch this - such a beautiful creature!

I already sponsor a Snow Leopard kitten, which is also an extremely beautiful and fascinating cat, but I just wish there where more that you as a single person could do..

I feel so powerless toward this, but I will difinitily pray and hope for this specie to survive.. And I will also pray for the Russian and Chineese people as well, it is not all of them that doesnt care about nature and animals.. :)

  • very sad

  • Look at the countries the Amur Leopard inhabits - Russia and China, two countries that couldn't give a rat's ass about conservation.

I'm afraid the Amur Leopard is doomed.

At least Russia's population is declining...gives hope for the future.

  • The human beings in these two country have enough trouble for themselves...In China, people can't find enough jobs because of the bloody population. In such circumstance, it is reluctant for the human residents to have the "leisure" to consider about animal's life.

Co-existence with animals should be an obligation, but sadly humans have to be rich enough to care about other human/animals, mostly. I just hope the human beings can be less self-concerned in the future.

  • Tugs at my heart. There are less than 40 left in the wild. To me, animals that are on the brink of extinction, like this one, should be attended to first.

But no, save the polar bears, there's 25,000 of them versus 40 leopards.

  • I have just sponsored an amur leopards through WWF.

  • Lets Pray that the amur leopard leopard will survive

  • Beautiful :'( they dont deserve to be exstinct

  • I hate African leopards! But these are almost as pretty as snow leopards! Almost, not quite. Snow leopards are still tops in my book!

  • God, hope they survive in the wild. They should set up a breeding program damn Russians.

  • Russian nove-ruskie need fur.

  • its a shame they will become extinct in the wild in the next 5 years. if only the russians cared about their environment.

  • I saw one in Amsterdam zoo! It was so close,I can't belive it! I'm so proud! =')

GO AMUR LEOPARDS! YOU WILL SURVIVE!!!!

  • I love all the animals that God has made and I thank you for the opportunity to have this video among my channel`s favourites.

  • I adopted 2 from wwf!!kinda.

  • beatifull ...and wonderfull

  • 40 left! i crying!

  • When david attenbourough talked about this feline - I really did shed a tear because of the beauty that is slowly dying because of humanity's greed. I was very touched by this scene.

  • I just saw one at the Asahi-yama zoo in Tokyo 2 days ago... s/he looked pissed!

  • Long live the Amur leopard!!!

  • Long live the Animal Kingdom!!!

  • you actually saw them!? thats awesome!! hope they live on for ever!

  • I've seen these Leopards in live in Marwell Zoo (South England)! They are absolutely beautiful! And people sed that that leopards in the zoo won't be able to survive in the wild. Well Marwell Zoo (which has 3 Leopards) seem to developed a tactic so the Leopards could be able to survive in the wild.

  • Afthefragile is correct.

As a Ecologist, I know first hand that a fact simile of an animal is definitely no the same as a wild animal.

These animals are incredible, and they need to be helped.

  • i did it to, no one new about them... it makes me sad :(

  • knew*

  • help save these animals!!!

  • @MOONman480 are they extinct yet.... i really hope not

  • this video is a real confussion!

    i saw the original video

    "last leopard"

BECAUSE FIRST APPEARCCES a male called "puzan"(fat boy) and then appearces skrytnaya( elusive one) and her cub(R.I.P.), DAVID ATTENBARAUGH DIDN'T SAY THAT!

  • There are only about 30 left in the wild!

Let's all support ALTA To save and conserve the very last few!! We CANNOT lose another beautiful species!

  • and so see them now because Russia don't care about these cats Russians save my country from musclemans and we Bulgarians respect them bit they cat care for there own country

  • So sad... They will soon be extinct.

  • Well, they are still in zoos, so they won't be completely extinct, just in the wild.

  • 24 individuals are a very small gene pool... inbreeding will finish them off

  • 24? Is that in captivity? Because I heard them say 40 in the video...

  • The narrator said 40 and dropping... Wikipedia says they're down to 27 to 32 individuals. Either way, their gene pool is too dwindled to sustain a viable population. Another casualty of peoples' stupidity and greed.

  • Not really. Their gene pool is dwindled, but can sustain a viable population.Asiatic Lions in India have only 12 ancestors, but now have population of 250-350.Strick protection can save Amur Leopard, but releasing of captive animals(mixed with North Chinese leopard, according to DNA tests)must be avoided.

  • I hope so. By the way, get ready for a wave of mass-extinctions looming over Earth in next few decades. Thousands are on the brink; many cross over to extinction every year, but the mass-media does not do enough to raise awareness. *Dismayed*

  • I sadly agree..

  • No,cats in zoo are not genetically pure subspecies. They need strick protection in wild.

  • Even if they are generically pure, the problem with cats in zoos is that they become demoesticated/institutionalised there. They become dependent on the zoo caretakers to feed them and nourish them. They may look the same as the wild cats but they become incapable of surviving in the wild.

  • In any case, now only in the wild exist true Amur Leopard.

  • I'm guessing one of the main problems with conservation is the Amur Leopard, like the Siberian Tiger, lives in a difficult region politically for landuse preservation. Historically, Russia and China are not wildife crusaders, and don't even get me started on North Korea (although their industry is so developmentally behind, pollution is less, so wildlife tends to thrive there if left alone). Good luck to ATLA and others trying to save this beautiful animal.

  • actually manchurian leopards(panthera pardus orientalis) and snow leopards(uncia uncia) are part of different genus

  • What a breathtaking animal - and only a couple dozen left who are probably inbreeding heavily by now and will die off eventually even if they are fully protected. So sad.

  • Such beautiful animals, they really need to be protected!

  • You should be skinned alive!

  • Fuck you, everybody on this website hates you and hopes you fucking die.

  • are there any programs trying to protect them?

  • they are the most beautiful cats

  • How the hell did you come to that conclusion?

  • you're an idiot if you think amur leopards are exactly the same as cheetahs.

  • You must be so retarded to hate a poor animal like that. YOU ARE the ugly one!!! You asshole!!! Freak!!!!

  • Yeah "Magic4,5,6,7,poop", or what the helll she calls,is the uglyest creature no Earth. It feeds on...poo. So,if eats poop, makes more poop, then it eats the poop and is gonna to be worse. This animal walks bipedal but when its smells the feet down 4 legs... It will extinct sooner or later.

  • Absolutely beautiful creature. Don't try to understand humans, it's a waste of time and energy. We must enjoy beautiful animals like these while we can because people will eventually force everything into extinction, even humanity.

  • People how kill them have sold there soul to the devil himself. Because a normal person gouldn't do something like that.

  • Agreed.

I've always beleived this is the the true meaning of the phrase "selling your soul to the devil" and has nothing to do with religion.

When someone does something inmoral, inhuman, something they wouldn't normally do and that goes against they're very nature, for the simple purpose of money, power or greed.

That's What "selling your soul to the devil"

    trully means.

  • Damn hunters and pouchers....I hope they know what they are doing

  • Poachers don't know what they're doing they're just evil. They like to destroy beautiful things in the world like these leopards.

  • My fiance had the pleasure of seeing one of these animals in person, He in cossack border in Russia. He spends much time in vast wilderness trying protect animals from puncher crossing the border.

  • yeah but were seeign this in science class and theirs a part were they talk about htis naimal and they say only 30 remain..and if theirs only 40...thats still bad =[

  • Save animals...hunt humans

  • hmm would that not count you? but I guess you be a coward and not put your head where your mouth is.

  • theres only 30 left in the planet =[

im not lying i swear thats what the vid said

  • it says 40

  • All this money on space exploration and bombs of mass destruction and homeland security seems pointless after watching a video like this. Planet Earth is a rare planet with many different species, we have to unite and protect these animals.

  • i heard that the amur leopard where killed in the second warworld when the german nazi attacked russia many amur leopard where killed they where like 5000 or something and now there are only 300 left : (

  • WTF? The Amur Leopard lives on the eastern side of Russia and in China and Korea. The Germans invaded on the other side. What the hell are you talking about?

  • i am doing a science project on this and i didnt realize they were so rare!!!

  • It's depressing to think how many species of animal we've destroyed. And we never start caring until it's too late.

  • I wish the producer of this movie would use the term poaching, instead of hunting for the reason these Leopards are on the verge of extinction. There is a difference! I am shure the Russian Government would not allow a legal hunt for these cats if there is only forty animals left.

  • They're so pretty! Why do they have to be so rare??

  • because of humans world suck is going up too fast

  • The cub featured here died, just so you all know.

  • oh my god, they are soooo beautiful....

  • that was sooo cute!!!!

  • why humans are so stupid and kill these beautiful animals for fur or viagra medicens? I just don't get it..

  • Come see the Baby Amur Leopard at Marwell zoo near Winchester Hampshire UK

She is beautiful and only 15 weeks old

  • that is great that an Amur leopard ha gotten o cub this is verry verry Verry Great and i am so happy to hear that :d

  • I've been there but a year later :) they're gorgeous!!!!

  • there is no way that guy's uncle shot one. If someone was caught doing that or selling it, they would be in prison for the rest of their life. He just wants to get attention so he makes up a story about his uncle. Anyone else notice how pathological liars always fall back on a ridiculous uncle story? What a tool. And if he did shoot one, they should put him in the zoo with a bunch of starved leopards and see what happens. I for one would laugh in his face as he get torn apart.

  • that was really noble of him.

  • they look like the snow leopards

  • there so beautiful..

.Oh god with only 6 females left....is there any chance?!

    Oh you poor things....

    :'(

    (sobbs)
