  • Hey Britec.

Yeah i have windows xp and nltdr is missing so i

used t usb one. i get to the windows 98 screen

and after that it throws me into dos.

    Verifying pool data.....

    Micrsoft(R) windows 98

    C:/>

So im supposed t type a dos command?

  • @pver4455 this video was for windows xp not 98

  • Legend!

  • @carrickros dont forget to subscribe :)

  • hey. everything runs smoothly until i get to the screen where it says windows loading (with the green bars running across the screen @ the bottom). after this there's a quick blue screen w/ writting then it restarts

  • Your going to need to turn off Auto Restart then if be able to see the blue screen

  • i looked in the bios for the auto restart. i couldnt find it. so how do i turn it off? and could it be because the hal.dll file is corrupt or something else?

  • try going into safemode see if it boots keep pressing F5 or F8 on startup

  • I get this NTLDR on a Windows 7 laptop. It originally came with Vista but not has Widows 7. I tried the fix shown on in this video but none of the 10 options work. Option #2 the screen turns black but nothing happens. All other options give error messages. I tried using Windows 7 repair disk and that doesnt fix it either. Weird.

  • If i was going to install Windows 7 from Windows XP I would do a clean install, which means wiping the hard drive clean and do a fresh install.

  • if i lost it all????i have deleate it all..hehe2 i cannot copy and put all into my computer right??? help plesssssss....

  • burn it to a disc or install on usb follow the steps you wont lose your data

  • how to i get to the recovery console

  • use this software and you wont have to

  • i have a laptop with windows xp and i downloaded the usb part and changed the boot order and everything but i get no results it stoped saying NTLDR is missing but now it doesnt do anything

  • try going to recovery console and type:

    chkdsk /p

    fixboot c:

    exit

  • if bought a new harddrive it know it is marster

but i can not install xp on it it keeps coming up with ntldr is missing can you help me

    thank you colmarr

  • Hi again - Just now I went back to the laptop with the issue. I decided to give it one more go. Surprise! there was actually coming "starting windows 98" in the screen and all kinds of stuff passed. Until I got to:

"Your harddisk is not ready for software recovery! Setup has to create your partitions (c:\; d:\; ..) new.

I was told to type FDISK

    result: NO HARDDRIVE

Now what? Will the files I am trying to get on usb or cdrom do the trick?

  • I will - but can't get access to a 'clean' pc and usb stick today. So ... if you don't hear me for a few days, it means I'm trying. Either way I want to come back and tell you the result. For now: thanks so much for your time and advise!

  • if the cd drive failed - then why did I get the toshiba logo on screen after running the tools cd rom from toshiba?

  • well if thats the case then your xp cd might be bad...it should boot if you set it to boot to cd.

  • you lost me here: boot TO a usb device... Can you explain that please - I normally have nothing to do with installing and booting - so this is strange to me

  • well if you can't boot to cd try downloading the usb version, put it on usb and change boot order to boot to USB in bios, problem solved.

  • I' ll try to get a usb version ... if you tell me how. From microsoft website? Do I have to take the same version? It not, which version would you recommend?

  • go to the site I say in the video above

  • may i should clarify this:

    * at the start we had windows 98, pre installed on the laptop + there for also on the 3 recovery cd's that I have already run xxx times now.

    * later we got the windows xp, and I have tried to run that one as well a couple of times.

Both give no other result than NTLDR missing

  • Hi

I have NTLDR MISSING on my toshiba satellite laptop after replacing the harddrive.

I tried in bios, booting from cd rom:

    * tool cd for my laptop - now i have toshiba logo ;-)

    * whole set of recovery cd's and startup disk

    * windows xp cd - first only "_" but afterwards again

By the way : I can't download anyhthing from the pc I am using here: this pc is also infected

with what caused me to change the harddrive, so I don't want to transfer the problem back!

    thanks for your time

  • do you get error message NTLDR Missing? or you getting to windows logo?

  • ONLY NTLDR MISSING

no way to go anywhere near "boot" or "repair" or "format" - if I try typing "D" to run cd rom the error message just comes back

  • so why cant you boot to cd or usb? so you cant get into bios?

  • I get into BIOS - via F2

I set boot to boot from CD rom, save settings and exit after inserting the CD rom.

And then - nothing except the eternal NTLDR...

When I insert a CD rom I hear the zooming that indicates it is (probably) being scanned and read - and during the time that the windows xp cd was in the drive there was only "_" blinking, not NTLDR. But further than that ... nothing.

  • Is it a proper xp disc you have or a copy?

  • the original one, with the key on the cover

  • its possible your cd rom drive has failed and thats why its not reading the cd, can you not boot to a usb device?

  • thanks for telling us how to install the program to the disk correctly. Jesus fucking christ.

  • man if you don't know how to burn a iso, then you should not be trying to fix this type of error, learn basic computer stuff first. or better still go pay someone to fix your problem for you.

  • very Awesome video very self explain thank you so much

  • Thanks, glad i could help

  • i downloaded the usb version, but when i try what it says it says permission deined.

    what should i do?

  • i did it with the cd version, but now everytime i turn on the pc it comes up with the "1ST TRY THIS 2ND TRY THIS ect." menu without putting the disk in, i copyed all the files to the HDD as i didnt know what was missing and i made them all hidden.

so what have i done wrong?

  • You only need to copy over the NTLDR file reboot and see what happens

  • theres one when i click enter it goes black for 1 second and then it reboots on its own back to the same 1st,2nd,3rd screen.

  • try my other 2 fix's on this error, I have made 3 videos on how to fix this error.

  • i dont know how to download the usb version

  • its in my description or download it from there site

  • i tried all 10 but none of them worked. help!? thanks.

  • Now i have a new problem i press power button and everything goes on for a second then all completly turns off i have to unplug the computer and wait a couple of minutes then plug it back in for the same results do u know wat the problem could be?

  • if computer shuts off it could be a temp problem or psu problem. have you over clocked your pc?

check to make sure the heatsink is seated right put a bit more compound on cpu, test your psu it maybe faulty

  • Well i havent Overclocked mines i dont need to but i put enough compound i think itsthe dynex brand i locked in the cpu fan and everything how do i test psu?

  • Okay my problem is that I bought all the parts for my computer and it went nicely together but i dont have a OS installed i was trying to but it says NTLDR.file is missing so wat do i do?

  • did computer boot up? did you try all 10 fix's?

  • No, i don'teven get that screen. i don't think i am making the disk right. i made a video of how i do it. its on my youtube profile, maybe you can see what i am messing up there.

  • i relized i needed the ISO recorder. i installed and tryede to use it and i wouldn't work cause it says "insert writable media into drive D and press okay to continue or cancel to stop". so is there a certain disk i am suppose to you?
