The glide ratio is not as important in an ultralight since they fly slower you're also descending slower, so you can take advantage of more sources of lift. It's a different niche.
The engine is the Corsair Black Devil, with proper maintenance it will last indefinitely. Realistically, I would guess 500 to 1000 hours or 5 to 10 years of service.
You are missing the point, 27:1 and 0.7 m/s is better than any other portable hang glider, glider, sailplane let alone a self launching one. At less than a 1/4 of the price of motorised sailplanes 27:1 is bloody good!
how large is it

whats the cruise speed?

for that sort of money, you could buy a descent used glider like an ASW 24, which looks much nicer..

You have missed the point, it is half the weight, folds down to fit in and on a family car and is brand new, not second hand.
The Alatus / AL12M is a self launcher, the price includes the power plant.

Looks very pretty. Especially the transparent wings. And a bargain price! What kind of construction is it?

Like a hangglider

Only 27:1 ? that's not too good these days ..any way of improving that.. electric prop with solar panel wings perhaps?

Well it sucks for a glider, but for an _ultralight_ glider it's not bad.

min sink? 30:1?
feastonmyload 4 years ago
Minsink is 0.7 meters/sec. Best glide is 27:1.
