You have missed the point, it is half the weight, folds down to fit in and on a family car and is brand new, not second hand.

The Alatus / AL12M is a self launcher, the price includes the power plant.

The glide ratio is not as important in an ultralight since they fly slower you're also descending slower, so you can take advantage of more sources of lift. It's a different niche.

The engine is the Corsair Black Devil, with proper maintenance it will last indefinitely. Realistically, I would guess 500 to 1000 hours or 5 to 10 years of service.

You are missing the point, 27:1 and 0.7 m/s is better than any other portable hang glider, glider, sailplane let alone a self launching one. At less than a 1/4 of the price of motorised sailplanes 27:1 is bloody good!
