  • How can you trace the lineage of your preachers to Jesus Christ when your faith started in the late 1800's? Note not saying your not Christian .

  • Somebody is going to say: Mormons aren't Christian because their pastor told them so. They can't really think for themselves. They have a childish 'teacher said so' mentality.

  • @megaead69 The gospel is true and it will go forth spreading throughout the whole world...no one can stop it, not even satan. That feeling you mentioned is the only true way of knowing the truth. That is the way God speaks to our own spirits.

  • @sylviastar1 Joesph Smith was commanded to restore the Church, he didn't just happen upon it. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was organized and pattern after Christ Church

  • Latter-day Saints embrace as brothers and sisters in Christianity, all who claim Jesus Christ as their Savior. We invite them to bring their testimony, faith, and experience, as they discover the fullness of the everlasting gospel of peace, service, repentance, obedience, and emulation of the Lord Jesus Christ. 1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

  • If anyone doubts if "Mormons are Christian?", Please read or view Elder Jeffery R. Hollands remarks at our Semi Annual Conference back in October of 2007 under the title: The Only True God and Jesus Christ Whom He Hath Sent . Here is the link to read that address or to view by video online... it's only about 14 mins long.

You are right. We different in some of the basic tenets of protestant beliefs. But if you define a christian as a person who believes in christ. Then christian? Yes!

  • @guidedbythespirit the religious branch of Christianity has many out shoots coming from it, with many different thoughts and interpretations of the Gospel of Christ. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints just has one of many different views of the Gospel of Christ. A Christian believes in Jesus Christ and tries to follow His teachings to the best of their ability. Latter-Day Saints are Christians, they just have a different view of Jesus Christ's gospel.

  • Is it possible for Mormons to be a Christian? Suppose we evangelical Christians were to claim that we are “Mormons” because we “believe in Jesus Christ,” but we deny the Book of Mormon and teach that Joseph Smith was a false prophet. How would a LDS person feel about us claiming to be “Mormon” when we reject the basic tenets that underlie the LDS religion?

  • @guidedbythespirit

my best response to your comment would be answered by Elder Jeffery R.

Yes!

  • Pastor Jeffress might be interested in this ;) It kills me his church is "the Church of Dallas" and he assumes the "Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints" isn't Christian. If someone had to chose between the two which sounds more Christian?

  • @hamolina: You mention something that is 50-50. Yes, Joseph Smith is a prophet that we mention restored the gospel, but Christ started the church when he was upon earth. When the people of old killed the 12 disciples, the church was lost. The Book of Mormon mentions that Christ came to them so that they could become apart of his church. Then they were lost too. And Joseph Smith found and brought back the church.

  • I am a member of this church, "The church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints." I absolutely love this clip. I love the Gospel more than anything and I love the Savior, Jesus Christ. We are Christian and I am proud to say that I am.

  • I'm not a Latter-day Saint myself, but this video brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much for it.

  • I am a Latter-day Saint. I believe in Jesus Christ and His Gospel therefore I am a Christian. I'm happy I belong to His Church.

  • Homolina we do not depend on Joseph Smith for our salvation. We need Jesus Christ just as much as you do. Without his atonement we would all be lost.

  • I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. I know Christ lives and is my Savior, no one can take this witness from me. Some have derided me as a Christian but I know he lives, I have felt his influence and the peace which comes from his mercy and forgiveness. The Book of Mormon, The Prophet Joseph Smith and other witnesses all point to Christ, they testify of him and have led me to him. That is why I hold them in high esteem because they have brought me closer to him.

  • The definition of a Christian is one who professes belief in Jesus as the Christ or follows the religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus. The members of the Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are Christians in fact. Hence the name.

  • I respect the conversion story of this man from Catholicism to Mormonism. The question of whether LDS are Christians was settled in the statement that every priest traces his priesthood to Jesus Christ (in the order of Mechelsidek). However, Christians do not consider themselves priests. The New Testament declares Jesus Christ our High Priest, the sacrifice, etc... Christians share the good news of salvation through Christ. LDS shares the restoration through J.Smith. LDS ARE NOT CHRISTIANS.

  • @hamolina A Christian is a person who believes in and follows Christ. The Mormon religion is based on the spirit and love of Christ, they also follow his teachings. Simple as that.

  • @hamolina : Within the New Testament, it has been stated that each disciple of Christ is given the mantle to be a High Priest too, and to exercise the right to perform sacred duties such as pray for others, and to give blessings (channels of Christ's blessings) to others.

  • @hamolina Yes, the Restoration is an integral part of the message which the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints proclaims--that Christ is our Lord and Savior, that through obedience to Him and His Gospel we may enjoy all of the blessings promised to the faithful. Through His Atoning sacrifice we may be cleansed of sin and become clean. The Restoration points to and supports but never surpasses the fact that Christ lives and that He atoned for us. I am a Christian, and I'm a Mormon.

  • @hamolina Priesthood Holder. The Priest. It's different. The LDS Church does not SHARE anything through Joseph Smith. The Gospel and the True Church were restored through revelation that Joseph Smith had from Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father.

The Bible is the word of God and so is the Book Of Mormon. The BoM actually clarifies that Bible. It's true. mormon.org.

I am a convert to the Church. Joined last year and couldn't be happier!!!

  • @hamolina Jesus is the High Preist. There were priests in biblical times that worked in the tabernacle and the temple. Didn't they believe in God and Jesus Christ?

  • @hamolina It's really unfortunate that you still believe we are not Christians. Joseph Smith was a prophet who was a messenger from Christ. We very frequently share the good news of salvation through Christ as well as the restoration. Yes we do share it through Joseph Smith because he followed Gods and Christs commandments to restore the true gospel. LDS are Christians. Our church is called "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints." Not "The Church of Joseph Smith of Latter Day Saints.

  • @hamolina While yes Joseph Smith is an important part in the restoration of our Church...Jesus Christ and God are the ones we worship. Feel free to go to Utah sometime and go to our Vistors Center and see the huge statue of Christ in the there. Read the Book of Mormon. Look over the Articles of Faith....And then see if you can say we're not Christians.

  • I think anyone who finds Jesus as a lord and savior is a christian. Even the Jehovas

  • @xIegionx I believe that everyone who truly accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior...is a Christian. And Jehovah is another name of Jesus Christ as like, Messiah, the Begotten... perhaps you're thinking Jehovah's Witnesses.

  • I joined the church in 1993 and went inactive for 5 yrs during 2004-2009..I NEVER lost my testimony, this is how strongly i believe it to be the church of Christ. At times i wonder if i want to be known as a "Christian" for i have seen alot of hate come from the "Christian" sect at believers and non-believers. I believe on judgement day God will not ask us if we are Christian's, rather if we believe in his Son.

  • @sensualfold : And whether we lived as God would have us live, as believers in His Son, the Saviour of righteousness and love. Anyone can profess to be a "Christian" or follower of Christ. But "ye shall know them by their fruits". I am a member of LDS too.

  • He sounds sincere. I believe him

  • Questions for Mormons.

    How are your sins forgiven?

  • If you visit mormon.org and select the pink bar on the left hand side that says "Chat with us", an official representative of the Mormon Church will be on the other end to answer your question and any and all others you have. Speaking from experience, I believe this is one of the best things you can ever do.

  • @smooretogo repentance, its a remission of your sins

  • @smooretogo A Mormon's sins are forgiven through the blood of Jesus Christ. Jesus suffered in their place as a substitute for the Judgement upon them in the Atonement. To access His Atonement, one must repent of their sins and have them washed away through water Baptism. Having been cleansed of sin, they can receive His Spirit through the Gift of the Holy Ghost. Every Sunday they take the Sacrament (communion) to reapply that cleansing process made effective through baptism.

  • @smooretogo We believe that sins are forgiven through the Atonement of Jesus Christ and repentance..

  • @smooretogo Through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Baptism by immersion, The Gift of the Holy Ghost, and Fidelity to his Gospel for the rest of my life. The Atonement of Jesus Christ is sufficient for all, but only those who come unto Him with a broken heart and contrite spirit will enjoy all of the blessings he offers each one of his children.

  • @smooretogo : Thru the Atonement of Jesus Christ the Saviour, and godly living i.e. "Be not mere hearers of the Word, but doers also". and obedience to the Lords commandments. Same as other Christians believe, at least those that have understood God's will and Word aright .

  • "I would that ye should come unto Christ, who is the Holy One of Israel, and partake of his salvation, and the power of his redemption. Yea, come unto him, and offer your whole souls as an offering unto him, and continue in fasting and praying, and endure to the end; and as the Lord liveth ye will be saved." Joseph Smith Jr

  • My story is very much the same as Elder Coleman. I have been searching for the Holy Priesthood since I was 10 years old. Now I hold that Priesthood and now understand more about the atonement and Heavenly Fathers plan for us.. My heart has changed and I can love more freely..

  • whoever thinks mormons dont believe dont believe in christ, need i at least read the very from cover it even says the book of mormon another testimate of JESUS CHRIST. and the real name for the mormon church is : the church of JESUS CHRIST of latter day saints.

  • Do Mormons believe that Mormonism is the only way to Jesus?

    from an Arabian Muslim

  • @MrOmarr1991 Mormons believe that the only way to be saved is through faith in Jesus Christ, and repentance of one's sins. To be clean from our sins, we must be baptized by someone that has the authority to do so. This authority is called the priesthood and is always found in the true church of Jesus Christ. When the apostles of Christ were killed, the priesthood was taken from the earth, but was later restored in these last days. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true!

  • @MrOmarr1991 no, they do not believe you have to be Mormon to attain salvation and be with Jesus. In fact, they are one of the very few Christian sects that believe even some non-Christians will be able to go to heaven. They think heaven and hell come after the resurrection, so before that, everyone goes to the spirit world, and there everyone gets a fair chance to learn the gospel of Jesus and accept it.

  • @MrOmarr1991 no they do not.

  • I just don't understand how anyone can dislike a video about a man who had an incredible spiritual experience to lead him to where he is today. Jesus IS the Christ :)

  • I grew up in a good catholic family as well, served 5 am mass as an altar boy for a couple years. My uncle is a Catholic priest, my father had spent time pursuing that, and I thought about becoming one as well. I found the Restored Gospel in 1998, and was baptized in, it has changed everything in my life, and someday will for my extended family as well.

  • God Bless You, You are a Beautiful Person! Your words are heart wrenching. I love you Lord Jesus. Where can I find a copy of this Mormon Book Please.

  • @eppingmelb You can learn more about The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ at mormon.org/book-of-mormon and request a free copy at mormon.org/free-book-of-mormon/ — Hope that helps!

  • @eppingmelb You can go to lds.org, or mormon.org and request one. You can also contact the local congregation and they can get you one as well. Just look up The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the phone book and call the number.

  • Another amazing story of conversion, I to am a convert. I was a pentecostal since I was only a boy. But later in life I heard the spirit check me and question some of the things I heard over the pulpit. I came in contact with some very special people in my life (All of the Missionaries i spoke to off and on to for 5years!) I have now been a member since Feb16, 2008 and I have never found a more complete Gospel anywhere than in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

  • I know This is The True Chruch I Love Jesus Christ So Very Much

  • I testify that the the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's restored church on the Earth. I testify that Christ is at the head of this Church. I testify he is a God of order. There is one Lord, one Faith, and one Baptism. I testify that Jesus is the only way the truth and the light, no man may be saved except through his grace and atoning sacrifice. I testify that God is the ultimate source of truth; belive in his promise and find the truth for yourself.

  • amen

  • HECK YES WE ARE!! :D

  • I grew up Catholic as well, they are some of the best christians I know. I received the greater truths of the Restored Gospel much later in life, but I have never doubted that Latter Day Saints are Christians, it is a profound absurdity that we could be thought anything else

  • This church is truly center on the Savior. I feel so FORTUNATE to be part of this church. I met the missionaries when I was 9 years old. Took them to my home to meet my family

We all were baptized!! My older bro was baptized right after I finished my mission in Chile. The church is true. There is no doubt.

  • :) I love being mormon.

  • @Vultigzor Aman to that!

  • wow.....

  • O F C O U R S E!

  • a lot of people think the Book of Mormon contradicts the Bible but it doesn't. The both testify of Christ. The Book of Mormon is about the people who lived in the Americas anciently. After Jesus's resurrection He visited the people in the Americas. It is recorded in The Book of Mormon, which really is Another Testament of Jesus Christ

  • @PunkH4x0r Mormons are a name given to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Day Saints (sometimes referred to as LDS). They believe that Jesus Christ's true gospel was restored to the earth in 1830. They believe in the Book of Mormon as another witness of Jesus Christ and that it as well as the Bible are the word of God. If you want more info go to mormon.org or contact me.

  • look read pray and study.........dont take anyones word for it.

  • What are mormons ? ;s

  • @PunkH4x0r

its a religon also known as lds/ the church of jesus christ of latter day saint

  • If you believe that the Good Samaritan was a Christian, then you'll like the Mormons! They have been a blessing in my life and have been Christian in every sense of the word to me and my family.

  • This video is filled with emotion. I can not make judgment on that alone.

So... anyway all I remember is when I go to my church on sunday I see this other church which is locked up with gates (they don't like visitors). Do Mormons like visitors to their church?

  • @LampPlaceThing we love visitors in our church. We hope everyone that comes to our church feels welcomed

by the Spirit present because of the teachings that we share. We invite anyone to learn more about us and hope to see more come by our church to learn more.

  • could some one who is a mormon please contact me so i can ask them some questions?

  • @BillRatio I have a link that can do just that, but YouTube says 'Error, try again' when ever I try. You can get in contact with me and I'll chat, or give you the link.

  • @BillRatio I can't contact you without contact info, but posting that here isn't usually the best idea. You can go to this website to have someone contact you to answer your questions: mormon. org / missionaries

    Good luck.

  • @BillRatio Ask me all the questions you want man ill do the best to answer them

  • @BillRatio

I can, I'm mormon and I live in Peru :)

  • @BillRatio I'm mormon!

  • @BillRatio Did anyone ever get a hold of you? If not, let me know :) e-mail me at sanchezmo10@yahoo.com

  • @BillRatio Go on mormon.org and go to chat with us and you can speak to a missionary

  • @BillRatio good luck

  • @BillRatio do you still need someone to talk to?

  • Go to mormon.org

  • like any man out there, i have my doubts. For this reason i was wondering why there doesnt seem to be any proof of the BOM validity. If its passages were true we'd be able to verify the occurrences in the present.

why cant we find any of the cities that Joseph Smith described in the BOM. The cities described in the BIBLE of a similar time period have left tons of proof. why is there no trace of the cities described in the BOM?

  • @benkovalenk0

The type of "proof" that you refer can be faked. So people could question that type of proof. What cannot be faked is the unmistakable witness of the Holy Ghost's testimony to you, to your mind, your heart, your very soul. This is The Proof that is irrefutable. It is why we willingly make the sacrifices we do as followers of Jesus Christ. I have never met the Savior on Earth. But I KNOW that He is real and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His church.

  • @benkovalenk0 there actually is heaps of proof you just have to be willing to search for it but the most important proof is the confirmation of the spirit which we learn can teach us the truth of all things :)

  • @benkovalenk0 There is a lot of proof of the BOM actually but the most efficient proof would be to read it and ask God if its correct. There is no greater proof you need than getting an answer from our Heavenly Father. :) i have done exactly that, read and prayed to God about the book, recieved my answer and will never deny the truthfulness of it. I hope you get the chance to do exactly that. :)

  • it says right on the cover that it is another testament(which means gospel) of Jesus Christ. the bible says that if any man or angle from heaven preach another gospel let them be accursed. if iam not mistaken doesn't alma 10:9 or 9:10 say that Jesus was born at Jerusalem, when he was actually born in Bethlehem?

  • @dannybayly gospel means good news

  • @dannybayly "He did not claim Jesus would be born in the city of Jerusalem, but 'at Jerusalem which is the land of our forefathers.'

Joseph Smith gets it exactly right — the town of Bethlehem is in the "land of Jerusalem." In fact, Bethlehem is only 5 miles south of Jerusalem: definitely "in the land," especially from the perspective of Alma, a continent away.

I don't want to argue, just explaining that point.

  • Alma 7:10 says Jesus shall be born in “Jerusalem which is the land of our forefathers." This verse is proof of the divinity of the Book of Mormon. Joseph Smith knew Jesus was born in Bethlehem. Yet Alma, the author of this verse, lived 80 yrs before Jesus’ birth and may not have known the exact city. In the Old Testament, only Micah prophesied Jesus would be born in Bethlehem. There is no indication Alma knew of Micah’s prophecy. For Alma, "the land of his forefathers" was known as Jerusalem.

  • @dannybayly Bethlehem is to Jerusalem as Tempe is to Phoenix, if I was speaking in a formal way, I might say that something that is actually in Tempe, is "at" Phoenix -the whole valley is called Phoenix in many instances. Alma does not say Christ was born 'IN" Jerusalem, it says "AT", which is accurate.

The connotation of the Bible verse you mention is "different", the BoM sub-title connotes an "additional" testimony to the same Gospel (from the mouth of 2 or 3 witnesses -this makes 3).

  • @dannybayly

In reality, Alma 7:10 is strong evidence of the historicity of the Book of Mormon as an authentic ancient text.

Note that the scripture says Christ would be born in the "land of Jerusalem," not the "city of Jerusalem." In fact, it was an ancient custom to describe Bethlehem, a city 5 miles south of Jerusalem, as being in the "land of Jerusalem."

Even the Bible refers to Bethlehem as being "in the land of Jerusalem." According to 2 Kings 14:20

  • @dannybayly 1. At the time the Book of Revelation was written, the Bible had not been compiled into a single book. Revelation 22:18-19 cannot refer to the entire Bible because the Bible did not exist at the time. Most scholars Rev was written in 68 AD, meaning it was likely written before some of the other books of the New Testament like the Gospel of John, a book I think we both consider to be valid scripture. A similar scripture warning against making additions can be found in Deut 4:2.

  • @dannybayly - Bethlehem is nothing more than a suburb of Jerusalem. Anyone who lives there knows that. It's like my friend in Bellevue Washington telling someone he's from Seattle.

  • @dannybayly

The Book of Mormon was written in the ancient Americas, therefore the verse that says Christ would be born in Jerusalem was a generalization. The inhabitants of the ancient Americas would not have known the tiny town of Bethlehem, so the Lord told them he would be born in Jerusalem. Due to tradition, they were all familiar with Jerusalem. Similarly, when I travel out of state, I tell people I'm from New Orleans. Truthfully, I'm from a small town south of New Orleans called Cut Off.

  • @dannybayly yeah it says at Jerusalem if you look up the word "at" in a dictionary it will say something to the extent of exact location or near to now Jerusalem is NEAR to Bethlehem therefore making the word at appropriate for his statement not to mention if you understood who the angel was speaking too and his understanding of the area you would know that he was not overly familiar so therefore the angel to help him better understand he used a city well known

  • @dannybayly The Bible Also Says Christ was born in the City of David. Both Jerusalem and Bethlehem are referred to as the city of David. Why is this the case? Jerusalem and Bethlehem are within 5 miles of each other. Alma was talking to people in the Americas, they might not know where Bethlehem was. They all knew where Jerusalem was since their ancestors came from Jerusalem. We all believe He was born in Bethlehem

  • wow i watched a video about a mormon converting to islam and i just felt ackward, now im watching this and i am soooo relaxed, i know that This is the true church.

  • Great video, it would be better without the background music.

  • This inspires me to live better

  • "I am a devout Christian that has been given the truth through the Spirit"

    Me too

I haven't read the book of mormon but I will soon enough.

  • i shook his hand in a Parking Garage. He is cool.

  • i wish i was mormon

  • @23181329 Then go learn to be one.

  • @23181329 you can be :) go to church on sunday and talk with the bishop, or really anyone there! they'll be more than happy to give you lessons! :)

  • @23181329 You don't have to wish.

  • @23181329 Go to mormon.org. Talk to a missionary, and if you truly do want to, then you will fill the spirit and get baptized.

  • @23181329 You CAN be one! I sugges tyou start by learning more about us at mormon.org.

  • @23181329 you can be

  • @23181329 well, sometime I've felt that feeling too. but just because it looks nice doesn't make it true, though : /

  • @megaead69 It may be hard to imagine, but the reason people join the LDS church is because of the power of the holy spirit. And I have felt that for myself, it is so profound. (coming for a 16 year old)

  • @megaead69 That is true, megaead69. But even as Jesus said, a tree is known by its fruits. Will you judge an orange tree to be an apple tree because of one apple on it? The testator of truth, the Holy Ghost, can if you are willing confirm and make known the truth of all things made known unto you provided you are sincere in your search and fully intend to act upon the knowledge you receive. If you want to know the truth of the Church, I invite you to read and ponder the Book of Mormon.

  • @23181329 : You can become one (a MOrmon) if you wish to be. Contact mormon.org or lds.org and they can send you missionaries to your home or other suitable meeting place....

  • @23181329 Why don't you become one?

  • @23181329 Then be one :)

  • one of the most beautiful testimonies I've ever seen of the Church. Thanks ever so much for posting it.

  • I am not a Mormon, nor could I ever fully prescribe to any Abrahamic theology, (especially Islam), however this man's words moved me and I believe he is a true and devout disciple of Jesus Christ. Too many people (like myself) focus on the theology of a religion, but they don't stop to look at the fruits of it; being the devotees. From my encounters with them, Mormons certainly are a good fruit that can only be held up by a good tree. God bless Mormonism. Praise Jesus.

  • The Second President of the Church Brigham Young Stated. "The Spirit of the Lord enlightens every man that comes into this world. There is no one that lives upon the earth but what is, more or less, enlightened by the Spirit of the Lord Jesus. It is said of him that he is the light of the world. He lighteth every man that comes into the world and every person, at times, has the light of the spirit of truth upon him." You have the Spirit of Truth my friend. May God bless you :)

  • @AllahConsciousness I absolutely love that you liked what he said but we do not practice Mormonism and you stated but we are Mormons that's what people call us. but we practice the love and faith of God and Jesus Christ.

  • @AllahConsciousness i absolutely love that you liked what he said but we do not practice Mormonism and you stated but we are Mormons that's what people call us. but we practice the love and faith of God and Jesus Christ. But furthermore we are LDS meaning we are Member's of the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. And that is what we are is Latter Day Saints :)

  • @AllahConsciousness

Thank you for having such an open heart and mind to others' views and religious beliefs. God bless you.

  • @AllahConsciousness You are aware that Christianity is an Abrahamic theology?

  • @AllahConsciousness good :)

  • I love his very simple but powerful witness of the truth of Christ's church. Amen.

  • lets be clear heavenly loves us so much that if it were possible and that if he would then he would even allow satan to repent and have a chance to have all the blessings we have. in my life I have known trials and tribulations but I know from this one truth that heavenly father will have me back to him and I feel so much and owe my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ so much

  • there is only one real truth just look at the ppl and as Mormons go they are the best they are the best cause the mormon religion must be he best simplw but so true thank u all guys u live how we should all live you are a blessing to a corrupted world

  • Does a quiver in ones voice make it TrueR?

  • Isaiah 29 this whole chapter talks about the coming forth of the Book of Mormon

  • after 10 years.. and lots of faith and prayer my husband is going to be baptized this sat.. God truely answers and hears prayer

  • @twilightvampire79 Father is good and he does listen and more importantly He answers!

  • @twilightvampire79 Father is good and he does listen and more importantly He answers!

  • This is a beautiful message.

  • i was baptized feb 18 2007

  • congrats. =)

  • @deadpalette Only Jesus Christ Himself can forgive sins. The way we do this, is we either Pray and ask for our sins, but if it is serious enough, such as fornication, we go to our Bishop. An LDS Bishop is much like a Catholic Priest in His ministry. Through the Bishop, we receive instruction, and through the power of discernment, we may receive forgiveness.

We are not forgiven BY the Bishop, only through the Bishop.

  • It is indeed strange to think of the enemy of all Truth as being not only a spirit brother to our Saviour Jesus Christ but a spirit brother to me also, and to each one of you too. A brother who went to the opposite pole. I never really appreciated the full impact of that till I read the above comments, or below as the case may be of their appearing on this page. Thank you. Heavenly Father is always trying to enlighten His children. Satan is always trying to darken our minds.

  • That was awesome. Thank you Elder Coleman!

  • archuleta0823...I'll try to answer your question. Jesus was the only child born on earth from our Heavenly Father, with Mary, his Mom. Everyone else on born earth are His spiritual children from our Heavenly Father. LDS doctrine says that we were all born spiritually of God and then our spirits were clothed in a body of flesh and blood by our physical parents. Does that help?

  • Comment removed

  • Sorry it took me so long to respond :) Youtube didn't post my comment I left for some reason, but I left one a few days ago. Anyway, thankyou so much for answering my question :) It does help! I heard different things about what people of the LDS faith believe about that, and it confused me. I heard that Mormons believe Satan is Jesus's brother and other things like that...is that true?

  • Like jlt413 said we believe that we were all at one time brothers and sisters before this world began then we came to earth to get a body. There were however some who chose to rebel against God and not come to this earth. They were lead by Satan and were cast out from God's presence. Today they try to lead people away from the good that God has to offer us. So the short answer is yes Satan was a child of God like the rest of us but he chose to deny God's mercy and was therefore cast out.

  • Now I understand :) thankyou so much for answering :) I really appreciate it!

  • They are just great.

  • It happened the same way for me too

  • Well whoever has gone through and put a -4 thumbs down on every video is not very christian because that was a touching video . . . and lots of heart felt comments . . . and you went and marked them with a thumbs down just to by a pest . . . an annoyance . . . please show some maturity

  • @jacecrawford. Dear Bro. please don't be harsh with others. The embracing of eternal truths comes a step at a time. Precept upon precept, line upon line. Consider the Prophet and Apostle Paul and his conversion. We just never what the power of Christlike Love can do in the life of another.

  • @jacecrawford How true .

  • Hi everyone God Bless you.

  • I feel that the "mormon Church/ LDS church are Christians.

    God bless!

  • At some time in our lives we are all converted to the Church of Jesus Christ

  • to answer merlin0152, I actually got a version of the BOM that was an exact duplicate of the original printing, and I did notice a difference, but it was grammatical only - to match modern English grammar, they changed "was" to "were" to be properly plural. Other than that, and similar grammar changes, it is exactly the same.

  • I've got one too! There are a couple changes that even a Primary child can notice... as well as understand why those were made ("Mary is the mother of [the son of] God, according to the flesh", and so on). Doctrinally speaking, it's the same thing when pondering on it a while. It's just easier to read for most people.

  • 10 Comandments

Honor your father and your mother

    You shall not murder

    You shall not commit adultery

    You shall not steal

Will you deserve heven or hell?

it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me whosoever who call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

    ARE YOU BORN AGAIN

  • @valu777 Of course we are! Jesus told Nicodemus that we had to be in order to get back to heaven (John 3: 1-5) We need to be baptized by immersion, and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost to be born again. And then, more importantly we have to accept that Jesus Christ IS our Savior, and rely on him. That means DOING the things he has asked of us: keep His commandments, go to church, serve and love others. Then, after all we can do, through his atonement we can be made perfect.

  • I think the eternal nature is key to Christianity.

  • search for answers to your questions the way prophet Joseph Smith did..Ask and ye shall receive, knock and it shall be open unto you..dont just ask..act.

  • Missionaries basically present people with informatin and then invite them to ask God if what they have presented is true. I agree with you that a person who only listens to others, including missionaries, but who never asks God or listens to Him is not acting in a very wise manner.

  • In a world of shifting values and very little constant, I am glad Jesus Christ is the light of the world

  • We proclaim Christ Jesus. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

  • We are too Christians! Most people say we aren't because we're "Mormons". That is a nickname the world has given us because we preach the Book of Mormon. But what is the Book of Mormon? It is ANOTHER TESTAMENT OF JESUS CHRIST. There is so much versions of the bibles nowadays, that it does bring contention. The Book of Mormon brings peace. There is only one version of it, there is no err in it. We believe in Jesus Christ, in his example, his teachings, his life. The Church of Jesus Christ-is true

  • What Doctrine do you have that comes out of the book of mormon?

  • So the current BOM published is exactly the same as the 1830 edition?.....There have been no corrections?....Not even just recently?.....Not even several between now and then?

  • "So the current BOM published is exactly the same as the 1830 edition?....."

the current version has chapters and verses.

  • Yes, along with the addition of verses, chapters, and references, there were at first grammatical changes, so it was easier to read, because many sentences were constructed in a Hebrew fashion like you see in the old testament sometimes. So they needed to reconstruct he sentences into a more English form.

  • I have a question :) I'm not Mormon. I'm actually Pentecostal, but I'm very curious about the LDS church. I appreciate a lot of the values and beliefs of the LDS church as well. I was just wondering because i heard that mormons believe Jesus is not the only son of God, but in this video he referred to Jesus as "only begotton son." What do mormons believe regarding this?

  • He is the only begotten son :)

  • @archuleta0823 we are all spirit children of our Father in Heaven. That is why we call Him Heavenly Father. But Jesus Christ is the Only Begotten in the Flesh - the only mortal (well, half-mortal) being on the earth whose earthly father was Heavenly Father. Does that help?

  • The priesthood is for men, worthy men of course, simply because it is the duty which they hold. Holding a priesthood is a duty, as well as a blessing. Women are entitled to recieve the blessings of the Priesthood. But it is not man's power; it is Gods given to man. We as women already have the blessing and duty of motherhood, of bringing children in this world. We already have so much duty and blessing :) we work along side the men, and vice versa. Together, we bless each other. Xoxo

  • I too was like Elder Coleman. I grew up a Southern Baptist, and it was thought by my family that I would either be a minister or a lawyer. But when I was 31, I heard the message of the Restoration of the Gospel, the third time, I might add. And I read the Book of Mormon, and I testify that it, along with the Bible is indeed the very word of God. I know these truths and testify of them to my family.

  • How power it is to know Heavenly Father

and his son, our Lord and Savior Jesus

    Christ.

What matter of men ought ye be."

"For my house we serve the Lord"

  • I love hearing from church leaders and members who joined the church as adults, I think they hold a special perspective!
