  • This music is just AWESOME. I'm gonna buy this game just for that reason.

  • kannanMAK, In Hard Mode of Final Soldier, how far can you get without dying?

I got all the way to Stage 5 and that area is PURE HELL!

  • gamerguy425: In Hard mode of Final Soldier, how far can you get without dying?

  • Has anyone who posted comments about this game ever got to Stage 6 under hard mode? It is very very hard, and I cannot do it myself; but I wonder who else has the some trouble getting to that stage?

  • DigiHatesMaking Names...Did you play hard mode, and can you get all the way to stage 7? I know I can't. too much intensity in gameplay!

  • looks a hellova lot like blazing lazers

  • can anyone suggest the best emu for this system? thanks in advance.

  • This game and Super Star Soldier really needed a soundtest in the options menu.

  • I think they did or they are hidden which you gotta do some codes on the controller to work

  • OH HELL YEAH

  • Is it possible to crank the difficulty like in Soldier Blade to increase the bullet count? This looks too tame for my likings. :/

Music makes it seem worth playing though!!

  • Trust me, it's not as tame as it looks

  • Alright! Thanks for the heads up!

I bought this game a while back but now I'm waiting for a working PCE. (Mine died) With what you claim, I'm quite excited now! :)

  • A shmup doesn't have to be a bullet hell to be a challenge

  • To be honest I have more trouble with non bullet hells. The other killing factors catch me off guard. I find in standard shmups developpers have more creative freedom to kill the player in different ways that are both ironic and funny. :P

I guess it all depends on how the game is made.

  • Avian?

  • the ships gunpods (you know the mini ships that protect your ship) look like something out of gradius.

  • Man, I love the song of the first level and also the third level song is awsome

  • Just a comment but the stage 2 boss music sounds like a sped up version of the continue music from "Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu" for TG16/nes

  • i really think i may get this for the VC next week.

  • Awesome game on an awesome console! I think the PC Engine was better than the Megadrive.

  • I'm pretty sure that Soldier Blade was second and this was third.

  • nope, Soldier Blase was the last one. The best in my opinion.

  • oops! Soldier Blade :)

  • Just 1-lifed this on videotape 3 days ago. My capture card's been screwing up though

  • grats on that ^__^

  • "Anyone who says that the PC Engine music chip lacks bass clearly doesn't know what they are talking about!" We share like minds, Digimon, although I think I like Stage 1's music better than Stage 4's. You know what watching this video made me realize? YOU WERE THE ONE THAT FIRST SHOWED ME THE TURBOGRAFX-16 WORLD! Do you know if Bomberman made any appearances in this game or others in the series?

  • you need to check out star parodier but thats on the pc engine super cd-rom which i dont have yet.

  • OOHHH, ALRIGHT! I thought I heard that he was seen in one of those games! I'll search to the very bottom of the ocean to find a video where he appears!!!

  • The Pause screen noise takes me back. Isn't this one like the 3rd or 4th in the series though? The order is like the following, correct me if i'm wrong..

    1. Star Solider

    2. Blazing Lasers

    3. Super Star Solider

    4. Final Solider

I'm sure there's others but those are the only ones I know currently that are supposed to be connected to the series. (Blazing Lasers is in question.)

  • There is also Soldier Blade and Star Parodier and other star soldier games released on the N64, gamecube and psp.

  • The PS2/GC/PSP games are remakes of the NES/Famicom/MSX original.

  • ah thanks for that. you mean the 3D remakes ?

  • If I remember right, Blazing Lazers was based on a comic-turned movie property, Gunhead.

It's been a long time though, so I could be mistaken.

  • I can hear what you're saying about the music. It sounds very epic in some places. I like that the boss tunes are remixes of the stage's bgm. It pulls everything together nicely.
