  • I like you Rhythm, and I've beat that guy's ass... I don't mind female gays...

  • Damn! The guy was just a faster puncher than you were! You gotta learn to be faster, on your feet and with your fists, or you'll get your ass fistfucked every fucking goddamn time, goddammit!

  • @cestdiva There's no hate crime here. The guy was obnoxious for asking them to kiss, but she admittedly got aggressive with him and started swearing at him. He asked her not to speak that way to him or he'd slap her. She then got aggressive & got in his face swearing, so he did slap her with an open hand. Then she lunged at him, and he hit her. Then he was walking away and she ran at him and he hit her again. It's assault, not a hate crime.

The guy is an asshole but this is NOT a hate crime.

  • I hate so much just call me a hate hater and that man well will get what he deserves, and Rhythem keep your head up and strong i am only 14 but ill try to do my best to do something about hate crime, and the savage individuals who do it cause hate isnt just towards ones person but to everyone like them sorry if i am ranting but i am immensely pisssed right now

  • I feel so bad for you. Because of the carelessness of some strange, nasty ass man you leave as a victim of hate crime. I can't stress enough how stupid some people are, people die because of crap like this. It's just not fair that people can't love who they wanna love because someone else has a problem with it. You can love who you love and you should be able to love them without all that. I'm sorry what you went through and i hope everything is better.

  • this brought me to tears =[

i am so sad that this happened to u but i can tell u are very brave because u posted this video to let it be none knowin others could still disagree wit this type of life. my hat goes off to u. best of luck & stay strong!

  • Oh that's a real man. I hope he gets his ass beat to a fucking soundtrack.

  • God also says do not judge lest ye be judged... Rythm ... I wish I was there, I wish I couldve helped you... Im so sorry for you for your girlfriend, your brother, everyone who was there... Keep your head up...

  • LET'S STOP THE HATE CRIMES ALL OVER THE GLOBE RIGHT NOW! WATCH THIS VIDEO HERE THEN POST A COMMENT, MAINLY IF THIS STRUGGLE CONCERNS YOU TOO AS A GAY OR LESBIAN PERSON:

    watch?v=RHySFbHd-FM

  • i now how u feel rhythm... im also a hate crime surviver .. keep stronge hunn.. one day people will see that we ae just like them that just happen to like other females ..

  • Oh (((( I can't stop crying...of couse my tears will not help anybody but I'm so mad... it's not fare... it's not fare that people make violence and speak about god at the same time...

I've just watched your story and I hope you're ok now and I wish you all the best! Be safe and healthe please! A big hug from Moscow.

  • this makes me hate men. i know all men arent like the jerk who beat her, but i still have an aversion.. =\

  • I met her the other night. Talented isn't even close to describing her. And she's super nice. Whomever hurt her obviously hasn't taken the time to know her. A genuine soul. Hope he gets what he deserves. No justice, no peace!

  • God. I live in San Diego and one of my friends introduced me to her at a club last week. She is amazing. It's funny, I just stumbled accross the other video from the Beaver Bunch with Jess talking about this, and realized that this is the same girl. All I can say is she deserves everything she needs to make her life better. She is truly one of the ones we need most in this world. Words don't do her justice.

  • It frustrates me that I have just now learned of this story. It should have been made a big deal like Natalie Holloway or Michael Jackson even but sadly it didn't get the coverage it deserved. Hate crimes as a major issue in society that need to be addressed and publicized relentlessly when they occur.

  • @ItsCoreyLynxxYall I've been hearing so much about hate crimes against gay people and it sickens me. People need to be more open minded and just let people be themselves and express themselves freely. If people don't want to see it, then they don't have to look. It's not their business and they need to leave them all alone!

  • Anyone who wants to be "OPENLY" gay in a world where most of the people that live in that world are not gay, there will be a OPEN resistance. Always I am afraid..

  • This can change.

  • Not likely, but fair enough.

  • I digress.

  • @ItsCoreyLynxxYall Maybe someday, people will open up to people being homosexual and they'll accept it instead of viewing it as wrong and disgusting. I'm not gay, but I have gay friends and I'll do whatever I can to protect them if someone tries to hurt them because of their sexuality.

  • resistance from what? living their lives the way they want to?

  • sadly, yes...

  • God bless you and your family and your friends. No one ever deserves for anything horrible like this to happen, but it does, all over the world. I'm sorry for what happened. You have suffered so much but in return you're sending an amazing message out to everyone and maybe one day someone who really needs this will stumble upon it and hear your words. It's the strong people like you who are out changing the world today. Thank you & stay strong♀♀

  • He said "God knows, God's gonna judge"? Hmm, at first he wanted to see you guys making out for his own arousal.

Quite curious, his small mind, huh?

This made my stomach sink. These are the

types of things I live striving to prevent.

All my love. All my love, in full.

    <3

  • OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG , Being yourself isn't a crime.

  • I have only one thing to say. God died on the cross for us for everyone, he didnt say hey im giving up my life just for the straight people. I dont think that god could hate every gay or lesbian or bi sexual person because of who they love. I dont think he would want his believers to hate a person because of who they love either. I believe in God and I dont think he or anyone for that matter could be so self centered to take the one thing in someones life that makes them happy.

  • hope the jerk gets a long time in jail

  • my heart goes out to you dude

  • Hate crimes are just like saying "You are a Person with This World"!

I know plenty of Gay persons just trying to be their Own Person and Still getting to get blamed of everyting!

You dont love a Person like in the "Good Book"!

They say that "God" is Love!!!

I will find a Woman just as good to and feel Love!!!

a Man (me) and a (Woman) will find a woman and love her, just as much if a Woman will find another woman to Love Just As Much!!!!

  • Rhythm, I'm sorry this happened to you. Consider educating yourself on self-defense. One option is to learn how to use firearms. There is a group called Pink Pistols that consists of lgbt people teaching each other to shoot. Choosing whether or not to own a gun is a very deep-seated ethical and moral choice, and only the individual can decide if it is right for her. There is a lot of propaganda out there about guns and gun owners. Do your own research and make up your own mind. God bless.

  • yeah, i'm not a huge advocate of 'gun rights' but in this case, you could have been like "2nd amendment, bitch" and taught that asshole what 'literally interpret' means.

  • To all my fellow gay people out there: DO NOT LOOK TO THE GOVERNMENT TO HELP YOU. Your personal safety is YOUR responsibility, not the government's. If someone offers to take over responsibility for an aspect of your life that is as important as personal safety is, be skeptical. They are likely looking to "relieve you" of some of your rights too. If you hand over responsibility for your protection to police and military personnel, they get to decide where, when, or if you will be protected.

  • im really sorry that this happend to you it makes me sick to my stomach the ppl do this sort of stuff and it makes me scared to go out with my girlfriend knowin that people are out there who do this sort of stuff. my thoughts are with u always i really do hope u get better soon xx

  • "My glasses flew up from my face..."

This is the kind of monster that does these things. For some odd reason, that was the line that resonated loudest...until I read that Rhythm had no health care insurance, and that this could be a permanent and chronic problem All the best, Rhythm. I will donate when I can.

  • She was brutally attacked for being who she is. Why a lot of people think that's okay is beyond me. I can't believe some people would say, "it's okay because she was a Faggot". The sad thing is they can't see it's wrong for someone to get assaulted based on something as meaningless as sexual orientation or skin color.

I'm sorry that happened to you Rhythm!

  • I teach an ongoing Re-evaluation Counseling class on healing emotions, reclaiming power in our lives and in the world....and I have several LGBT folks in the class, and we do classes every so often on ending Gay Oppression.

I'd like to show this video to them, if that's alright - especially the "straight" folks need to know how hard it still is out there. Gay Oppression isn't just about Prop 8, and Gay Marriage - it's about survival in some ways....

    Love and peace,

    David

  • Good on you for making this video. I applaud you. What happened to you and what is happening all over the world is appalling. I wish Rhythm only the best for the future.

  • this just happened to me, exactly 1 week ago...i am in tears, i am so sorry, i know the pain...thanks for sharing your story.

    Namaste ~ Michael

  • this makes me so angry. guys misuse their strength over women all the tiime. i hate it, it makes me sick. im so sorry rhythm.

  • Im so sorry 2 hear that this happened to you :(

  • Haha. I love how some of these comments are telling Rhythm Turner she was basically wrong for standing up for herself. Pathetic. How dare we, really! Shame on us for having an unrelenting desire to live.

I'm sorry for Rhythm Turner to have to have that happen, but I'm glad she rose above it.

  • You were beautiful, and you still are. Hopefully, by using the internet as a gateway, the youth of today will be able to understand how wrong something like this is, and perhaps the next generation, if not this one, will be able to fully and completely accept homosexuality. Just hoping. If you hadn't fought back I'm sure they would've kept harassing you and your girlfriend, so no, I don't think you did the wrong thing.

  • Rhythm, Baby gurl. Your asking the wrong people of California for assitance in hate crimes. It seems like none of the leadership you have mentioned care (nothing is being done as we speak). Don't back down and one day things will change and people will be allowed to be who they are and not worry about hate crimes. Stay strong baby gurl.

  • My other Comment is for CapicornWonder! people should be proud of who they are not scared and worried of what might happen to them or be said about them for it!

  • You are beautiful, Rhythm, inside and out. Get well and stay strong.

  • I think where you went wrong is challenging

that guy and further more pushing him and attempting to fight him...He felt disrespected & attacked you. I am not saying he was right.

But in situations like that its best to defuse not

enrage...Or challenge your attackers...Being "stern" or saying your not going to hit me wont stop someone from doing it! You could have walked away asked to please stop...But challenging and demanding tones just encourage them to insist or even attack!

  • As a gay man, I think that you have it wrong, capricorn. Are you gay? if you are, you will know that after a life time of backing down, you get fed up with it. Lets get theoretical. If someone is making comments on your religion and is right up in your face, would you back down. gay people will make a stand at one point. I have and I must say, Iit is better then backing down. I did it once and walked away with a black eye, but at least I stood up for myself. No offence, but I will stand up.

  • We should not have to hide who we are, straight people walk around kissing their girl friends and boy friends and doing things to show that they are straight but a Gay or lesbian person cant? that is fucking bull shit & i dont care what you think but it is not right for anyone to have to hide who they truly are! Rhythm did not deserve this... nobody does! Every1 should be equal in this world, we are all the same, everybody puts their pants on the same way, 1 leg at a time so everyone is the same

  • As a gay woman, I also disagree. I would rather earn myself a black eye than regret backing down on my beliefs later on down the road.

  • I am so sorry, Rhythm. Hate crimes make me sick and no one deserves to be attacked for who they are.

  • This is so heartbreaking. People are so cruel and hateful and I am sorry you had to be the brunt of his hatefulness. I just want to hug you! I will help anything I can do I will!

  • You are such a strong and empowering woman. I love the comment to our leaders that this is happening and it needs to be stopped. You are an amazing woman and I commend you.

  • Look at our media---t.v., talk-radio, ect where it is a whole ratings industry where peole like to fight with each other on all of the various talk shows, relity shows, ect. We as a whole have to confront our own anger and blame but until we do this then anger and blame will be HUGE in this world Look at how many people love to fight about political issues, economic issues, social issues, ect. on the t.v. which actually sends out a terrible message to young people that it is OK to blame others.

  • Unfortunately Misiion Beach draws some people from other pats of San Diego who do not live in mission beach who go to that beach area and raise hell.

There are sometimes alot of rough people who go to mission beach to hang out on the boardwalk and are trouble makers. The people who live in mission beach and pacific beach are very happy that the booze ban is now in place as it helps detour and keep out some of the people who travel to these 2 beach area and cause problems.

  • Like I said in my donation comment- stay strong, stay free.

  • i actually didnt think hate crimes towards gays happend daily. i never hear about them in Canada or where i live, ever. I hope the guy gets what he deserves and i do hope you can get tht sugery. im sorry for what happened to.

  • I worked at a Teen Center that Rhythm attended back in the early 2000's. I know her mom, dad, and her brother. I always knew she would go on to do big things, I just didn't think she would be a victim of violence!

Hang tough Rhythm. Things will work out in the end!!

  • This is why I've always been pretty shy on PDA my girlfriend thinks I'm being paranoid. It's sad that I'm not.

  • thanks for posting this. God Bless you Rhythm and I hope you are feeling better. I am so sorry this happened. Learned about this today in Pacific Beach and was so upset to hear about it. I blame people like Miles McPherson. We are working to make change. Again, I am so sorry.

  • More to come.

  • Rhythm... I'm so proud of you for speaking out about this.

    -Trevor

  • i'm so sorry that happened. makes my heart hurt to see how much hatred still exists.

  • Glad to hear your surgery was scheduled. Hope it went well. Continuing to Send Positive Energy for your recovery.

  • Rhythm...I'm so sorry for what happened to you!! I could not believe the video...you did and excellent job with it. It was very Powerful...I hated seeing your face so messed up...that hurts... I'm sorry for the hypocrites in the world, running around breaking God's Commandments. The 2nd on says, "Thou Shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain". Let me tell you the guy that was saying that God will Judge or be the Judge?? Those people are the ones that need to be afraid. Love ya Sherri

  • Jus saw this on FB, I can't believe that people can be so hateful and hurt someone else especially based on something that has nothing to do with them. And to use God as a means to justify his actions, completely sick. God is about loving and accepting ALL...yet it's the one thing we constantly struggle with.

I hope you have a speedy recovery, and I'd like to repost this, if that's okay!

  • Hi Rebecca, its Sara, Samm's sister. Glad to see all is great with your music now. Hopefully I can get to a show soon. Just wanted to say how lame it is that this happened to you, but on the flip side your strength and determination for a better world(corny, I know, sorry) anyway, so what I'm saying is....it happened to you for a reason, you're getting the word out, you can transform the pain into something beautiful that can touch so many people. I love your soul. tell the fam I said hi.

  • This deeply saddens me. Such a great girl and a great family with a great message! Society should ask itself which is worse? Someone who searches for love and happiness in a different way? Or someone who hates, prejudices, or worse... reacts with violence?

  • Im sharing this vid with everyone I know thankyou for making us aware! I am so angry that this is 2009 and we still have intolerant assholes

  • people are idiots.... i hope he gets it bad in jail.... good luck with everything

  • thank you for sharing your story rhythm. it makes me sick this is still happening to people. i am also from san diego and this happened so close to home. i wish you the best of luck with your surgery. this is so unfortunate, but it will have it's way of coming back and helping you. it will open peoples eyes.

    much love and support,

    Jenna Lacy

  • seeing your eye Rhythm breaks my heart... Justice will be served in time... stay strong sister and know we love and support you!!!

  • i'm sorry this happened to u what happened to the guy that hit u plz reply i hope he's in jail

  • Convicted....and out on bail now. I will be posting another video soon so keep your eyes, ears, and hearts open. Surgery is scheduled for next week. :) I am full of hope and conviction. Thank you all for your positive comments!

  • glad to hear he was convicted but sad to hear he's out on bail he should still be in jail good luck and i'll be waiting for the video

  • Good people stand with you everywhere. You hug your girlfriend whenever you like.

  • Love you Rhyhm! Here for you whenever you need anything.

  • Can't believe that shit, why do people have to be so freakin' idiotic...

  • Best wishes from Canada. It's awful that this kind of thing is still happening daily all over the world. I send you and your girlfriend all my blessings and hope that the scumbag who did this gets what he deserves.

  • (H)ey! ;) My girlfriend was born in Canada, thanks for the love. We thank you for your support and blessings!

  • Hey Rhythm, we have been posting this all over GoGirls, Twitter and Facebook to spread the word. Thank you for making this video and showing the world that this still goes on in 2009.

    Peace,

    Madalyn + the GoGirls Staff

  • Thank you, GoGirls! Your support has been amazing through all this. You'll hear more from me soon.... still healing now.

  • This has made me realize that hate crimes are not a thing of the past and that I have just been extremely lucky.

But there shouldn't be any *luck* involved. The ability to go about one's everyday life with one's lover --- whatever gender they may be --- (and to be affectionate) should be a matter of course!

The very fact that it isn't, is despicable!

    ----

Rhythm --- my thoughts are with you. I hope you will be able to get the medical help you need. Best wishes from Germany.

  • Best wishes from the Netherlands. This should definitely not be happening anymore. You are a brave person to tell your story and I hope people will be influenced by it and be more openminded, instead full of hate!

  • I am only hearing about this now, a long time since it happened, but my thoughts are with you, Rhythm, and everyone else who was effected. I will spread the word here, in Pennsylvania, and I wish you a swift recovery.

Things need to change, and we all hope they will change soon.

  • Best wishes from Brazil! I hope those guys get what they deserve, and i hope people, specially authorities, realize that it's not ok to do that kinda thing to someone just because of who we love.

    get better soon!

    xx

  • Best wishes from the boiling state of Texas.

The way they never charge for hate crimes just because the HUMAN BEING that they BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF was gay/trans/ect. It's frikin SICK! I pray that he gets the full brunt of what he deserves, and I pray that you'll be able to live your passion again. Once again, best wishes from Texas. Good luck, sweetie. ~Kitty

  • best wishes and hope your surgery and recovery is as successful as your spirit. Slàinte Mhath(good health - an irish saying) from dublin

  • blessings from belgium. this is 2009, ... I don't know why peoples still do this!!

keep it strong, I hope this video gets true the whole world.

    still, we all keep hoping.

there was a gaypride in brussels(may 16th 2009), where I went to. we also went to the afterparty. we where in a happy mood of tolerance by seein all those peoples, being okay with it.

but... when we went home, some guys tried to attack us, cause we look different. it is something happening all over the world.

    my blessings x

  • In time people will learn that being black, white, asian, gay, trans, and all of the above is just a part of the broad spectrum of personalities that thrive on this planet. People are afraid of the unfamiliar; they are afraid of what they cannot understand, and feel threatened. There will always be hate and there will always be hate crimes, but everyday more and more people are beginning to understand that we are all human beings regardless, and our differences are what unites us.

  • I cannot believe this is still happening, and in a state like California... I hope something is done... and my prayers to you and all the narrow minded people who believe they have a right to invade other people on basis of sexual orientation, race, beliefs... this is so sad.

  • I am so sorry this happened to you. I have been the victim of violent crime and my prayers and thoughts are with you as you recover from your physical & emotional trauma. You are very brave. I hope you can get the medical care that you need.

  • Virginia is for lovers - ALL LOVERS, get well and remember you are better people

  • Best wishes from Greece. Things are pretty tough around here too. I really hope things are going to change soon. They have to.

  • Our thoughts are with you from Australia.

  • It's great that you can use this negative experience as a voice for change. Our thoughts are with you up here in Canada : )

  • As a family member myself, watching this has made my blood boil!!! When are we going to have the same rights as other "racial" hate crimes? Your strength is amazing! My love, thoughts and prayers are with you both!!!

  • Are you kidding me? He is an ADULT who is responsible for his own actions. He is to blame, completely.

  • How does a grown man not know it is wrong to hurt another person? I could understand your logic if the attacker was a child or young teenager, but not a grown man.

  • Best Wishes from Britian

  • Best Wishes From Indiana....

  • what do you mean?

  • Care to explain your bogus claim?

  • Bogus claim?

  • I hope you get the medical attention you need! Stay strong!!!

  • go rythem go! 5*. and fizuck them haters.

  • Hugs and Love to you Rhythm.

    Warmest Wishes,

    Andie

  • I'm so sorry that you were the victim of a hate crime. You're story will hopefully motivate the law makers of this country to step up on hate crime legislation.

Having no insurance myself, I deeply feel for your situation and wish that I were able to help financially. Please know that we here in Atlanta have you in our thoughts and prayers.

  • Best wishes from Europe.

  • Seeing you and hearing your story sickens me, my heart aches for you. Why some people are so afraid of two people in Love just because it doesnt fit into their narrow ideal of what love is. Its disgusting how people can use God to justify their intolerance and use of violence. God loves ALL his children and created them ALL divinely. Rhythm take care I will pray for a speedy recovery.

  • It makes me fucking sick what religion can do to people and that people can actually harm other people like this thinking that it's what god wants or something.

I love you Rhythm. You're awsome and I will donate money for your surgery.

  • My heart goes out to you!

  • This sucks... that ass isn't even in jail for a hate crime?! What the hell is wrong with us?!?!?! IT'S ALREADY 2009, what more needs to be done to prove that we need to change?

  • i hate to hear this, it's disgusting, hearing the story my stomach flipped,

change will happen, stay strong girl<3 i'm sorry.

  • Hang in there. We are all pulling for you! I cannot say how much this crime disgusts all of us.

  • Everybody wants to be accepted for who they are but refuse to accept others. It sickens me what he did, but all you can do is learn from it and hopefully other people will too. Its awful how while judging you and brutalizing you for who you are he talks about God.

  • Rhythm~ I am so sorry that this happened to you. Thank you for posting your story. I promise that with all that I am that I stand vocally with you. This was a hate crime against all of us no matter our sexual orientation.

"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere" ~mlk

  • its unbelievable that idiots still do this to other people just because of something stupid like who we date...

  • Stand up to injustice.

Always believe that there is a better solution than hate.

    Remember joy, hope and love.

    Keep your compassion and ideals.

Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.

Strength and peace to you and your loved ones.

  • my heart goes out to you and your girlfriend annd everyone else that have ever bin victims of hate crimes. xx

  • My heart goes out to you.

God in no way permits this hateful act. He is a God a unconditional love.

I can only hope with all my heart that things change in the legal system. This should not be able to carry on. It's so upsetting to hear stories like yours.

    All the best x

  • well that is sad and ridiculous. somehow I doubt Jesus would approve.

  • Folks like this need to be put away for a long time.

I am straight, but, this sort of thing should not exist in our world today.

I support you 100% and hopefully our hate crime laws will bring justice down on this person.

  • this is so horrible. i just wish people would do something. im scare everyday that someone will try to do this to me and my girlfriend sometimes says the same thing. i just wish someone would do something. hate crimes are the strongest ones..hate is a very deep strong emotion. this should be put to an end.

  • My thoughts and love are being sent your way. You deserve much better than being treated with so much disrespect and cruelty. I hope you make a full recovery and get that guy charged. It's what he deserves.

  • SO AMERICA HOW REVOLUTIONARY ARE WE?

    WE CLAIM TO BE "ADVANCED"

    WE CLAIM TO BE "FAIR"

    FAIR AND ADVANCED MY ASS

no one deserves this, especially someone who has done NOTHING wrong.

so tell me, whos going to hell? the woman who just wanted to hug her lover good bye? or the man who has caused this woman unimaginable pain and nightmares that will haunt her at night.

    WAKE UP AMERICA,

    p.s 'god' is no excuse

  • no.

  • complete bullshit! I hate that this happened to you! Prayers are with you girl! I'm reposting this to my facebook for more eyes to see! I hope you get well soon!! xoxoxo

  • My and my friends´ thoughts and hearts go out to you and your girlfriend! I hope you´ll be better soon...

its 2009 and that is still happening. somehow we have to stop it...this has to be seen... even if its by posting a comment!

  • This is horrible. You have my full support. You are not the only one, but that means you are not alone also.

Full recovery, we're all with you. x

  • That is awful! I hope you get better soon! i am actuly speachless with that to say except from its sick to think people in this day and age are still so closed minded and pathetic.

    Much love

    xx

  • thats fucked up. sending my love

  • You are not alone as a young man I was molested, kidnapped, and abused. Today I a successful singer songwriter and I know this will make you stronger. I believe you know that as well, from you experience and practice in love for all mankind. Forgiveness is the key!

    Love you you both,

    Arnold McCuller

  • I am now an activist with Vote For Equality and will be with the Courage Campaign in Fresno this Saturday for Meet in the Middle. So much hate in the world sometimes I start to give up on everything, but I know that if I do than the haters of the world win and the thought of that is unbearable. So I will continue too keep despair from taking hold and try to add my little bit of light to others so that the children of this world will not grow up in a world blinded by the darkness hate brings

  • sleeping with a black guy for the last two months. He than sent me nasty e-mails using his daughter's msn instant messanger.

  • Hello Rhythm, seeing what happened to you remindes me of what my brother did 28 years ago. He punched and knocked out a woman, because after his drunk ass got rejected by her over and over again she told him ( Leave me the fuck alone I'm a dike. ) My brother is also a racist and wife beater. During the prop 8 campaign my brother asked me if I was gay and said that if I was I would never see his kids again or be welcome in his house. So I told him the truth that I am only half gay, but have been

  • My heart goes out to you Rhythm and your girl. I wish I had money to give at this time but I don't sorry.

  • This deeply saddens me.

My best wishes and prayers to you for everything. I'm really proud that you stood up, because I feel you did it for us all but I'm sorry you got hurt. These guys will hopefully get what they deserve, if not through the law but with karma.

    Stay strong and beautiful.

    Peace and love.

  • I just heard about this through GoGirls Rhythm - you're really brave - just know that your personal strength and presence makes a lot of people strong and each time any of us women talks back, we're talking back for all the people that choose to or are forced to stay silent - thanks for sharing your story - Danielle's voice is perfect and Alicia's video says it all - Keep Strong! I hope the politicians do their part too.

  • No human being deserves despicable treatment such as this. If God is to judge, that man was not the arm of God. So sorry there are such ignorant and inferior thinking jerks like that, who have such a complex that they need to beat other, weaker people down in order to feel "big." Proud that you could punch a girl, big guy?

  • wow.. I can't believe people would go so far! You have my support!

  • Dang, this is terrible!!!!

I cant believe this kind of stuff still happens, especially in southern California! We gotta LOVE ya'll. Accept people for who they are. if you dont agree with their life style, thats fine. but any form of hate (especially in a violent form) is completely uncalled for 100% of the time.

  • "god knows? god will judge? god knows what is right and wrong?" fine then, let GOD do the judging, not YOU! this guy is a complete imbecil. if god knows, and god judges, what, this asshole is gonna play god? can you press charges?

  • LOVEET: people like you make me so sick. and sad. grow up. you don't want to see it? don't look. no one is forcing you. my god. get your own life and stop acting like other people's personal lives are putting you out. seriously. how weak. grow up, grow a heart, and get life. mind you own damn business and stop pretending other people's love lives have any impact on your own. and i'm pretty sure that god is not cool with judgemental and hateful people. i'm guessing that's a sin in itself.

  • amen.

  • Rhythm my thoughts and prayers go out to you. I am so deeply sorry that this happened you.

LOVEET, you disgust me, more than anyone ever could, and if I'm not mistaken, God says "Love thy neighbour as thy self" You are sinning too Buddy. You are CHOOSING to sin by disobeying a commandment. We are not CHOOSING to "sin" by being gay. We are born gay and God doesn't make mistakes.

Regardless of whether or not you believe in homosexuality there is no need for violence and this should no happen.

  • i am so sorry you experienced such bigotry first hand. down with prop 8!!!! love & peace

  • what a A-hole that dude that's horrible!!!!!!!!!!!! he should be in jail!!!!!

  • My take is that any legislation that happens needs to address what has been legislated for a long time in Sweden It is against the law for a parent to scream at or hit a child. No exceptions. Physical violence against others has decreased dramatically there. Starts with parenting..

I've seen people beat -scream at their children here in the US in public, been told to mind my own business Violence roots are what is acceptable in a society - what isn't..

  • This is beyond horrifying. I am so, so sorry you had to go through this. My thoughts and prayers are with you. May we all hope and pray for a day when we can all be treated with compassion and respect.

    XO,

    MG

  • Rhythm: My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family for a full and speedy recovery.

LOVEET: Your comment is beyond offensive. It oversteps the bounds of any political, theological, or ideological differences you may have with homosexuals and crosses into malicious, hateful, and vitriolic, hate speech. Your comment is crass, distasteful, and decidedly unchristian.

  • I was going to reply directly to loveeet, but i decided to reply to you instead because if i replied to him/her I'd say means things and it'd be entirely counterproductive... but yes, i agree completely with your assessment of loveeet. their user name is misleading.

  • People like you make it ok to bully 11yr olds until they hang themselves....

  • all these past comments have been nice, so I'm going to say what everyone else has been thinking- go fuck yourself, you homophobe. no one wants to hear your shit. and forget this BS about it being 'sinful'- you'll go to hell anyway for saying shit like that. as everyone else has said, you've majorly overstepped a boundary. oh, and just a reminder- Arnold S. voted against prop 8 and knows someday it will be removed. good luck hiding from that.

  • It's bullshit that we still have to live in fear. Minding our own business and people come up and physically harm you... our world is sad.
