    This engine was an early 1974 Nissan 260Z engine. An L26.

    Nissan never put a 3.8 liter in any production Z car

  • thats all normel dont clean off the carbon buildup ur not suposted clean it

  • The black stuff is called Carbon, hard carbon to be exact. It's entirely normal. That stuff begins to form after about 50 miles of driving. Your engine looks rather healthy, I hope your rebuild goes well

  • already rebuilt!!! running great too. After bending some valves and having to swap a bunch of stuff from another head it is finally running.

  • #6 looks like it spun a bearing! i think i soon a smooth finish around the piston where it was hitting the head.
