Can you explain why John the Baptist was born on the 15th? If he was conceived after the third Sabbath, wouldn't that mean he born at the least after the 21st? Three Sabbaths = 3 weeks = 21 days...? I can understand why that might be significant due to the feast of tabernacles, but it doesn't seem to line up with scripture. It seems more likely John the Baptist and Jesus would be born in the 21-29 range of their respective months.

Yeah, we talked about this in church. I am totally fascinated with Christian scientists and doctors that become pastors because I can put the puzzles together of some of the things I learned in school and what we are learning at church. Not every church is the right church. Also, you need to do your own research and studies because your faith is always being challenged. Hippolytus and John Chrysostom lived before Rome replaced erased the pagan holiday for Jesus' birthday and they argued heavily that Jesus was born dec 25. There where biblical patterns starting off with Zacheria and John the baptist to help support a late Dec too.

What is the big deal abouat Dec. 25th. I don't know anybody who thinks Dec. 25 WAS the actual date of his birth. We only CELEBRATE his birth on that date because we don't know the actual date.The church fathers had to choose SOME date to celebrate his birth and chose a date that everyone already used for celebration. The actual date was probably during a warmer month. Why waste everyone's time arguing about why Dec. 25th was NOT the actual date.

Can you explain why John the Baptist was born on the 15th? If he was conceived after the third Sabbath, wouldn't that mean he born at the least after the 21st? Three Sabbaths = 3 weeks = 21 days...? I can understand why that might be significant due to the feast of tabernacles, but it doesn't seem to line up with scripture. It seems more likely John the Baptist and Jesus would be born in the 21-29 range of their respective months.

I don't think that any Christian believes that Jesus was born on Christmas day. It was just a replacement for a pagan holiday. As Christianity became more and more popular the didn't mind the festivities but didn't like the whole Saturn thing. So they honored Christ instead. Eat the meat, and spit the bones.

Nicely done, but already known. Joseph and Mary traveled to Bethlehem(Joseph's place of origin in order to be counted and taxed. Shepherd's (I have dairy goats myself) would stand watch over their flocks at night only during the spring and summer when the ewes and does were giving birth and the lambs and kids were most vulnerable. Many non-Christian holidays (not just Christmas) were painted over to help make Christianity more palatable to non-Christians. I'll shut up now and watch the video.

What trash! The first "evidence" Jesus was not born Dec. 25th is that shepherds allegedly do not abide in the fields at night in late December. Yet, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob lived in tents their WHOLE lives ALL YEAR ROUND in Caanan, and Jacob specifically mentions keeping watch over his flocks AT NIGHT during the FROST OF COLD. Gen. 31:40. The preservation of Paul's letters by the churches he wrote to links him to the churches. Well when the Christians began to convert the Pagan Romans to Christianity, it would have been smoother for them to just take an already large celebration and just give it a new reason to celebrate. Kind of like if the U.S. would for some reason take over a country and replace that countries' July 4th celebration for the "battle of (anything)" , with the American Day of Independence.

what makes jesus so dam special?? - on the morning of 25th of dec (no other day in the year) if you were to draw a straight line through the 3 kings ( 3 stars in orion's belt), through sirius (brightest star in the sky) you would be able to pinpoint the exact location where the sun would rise. is it coincidence that 3 wise men" saw a bright star in the east on the 25th of dec and followed it to the location of the "sun"?
