I remember seeing this advert when I was younger and it was etched in my brain. Seeing it again reminds me why I never drank alcohol. One of the best PIFs about the dangers of Drinking and Driving
I remember this advert being shown in the summer of 1993; as a 13 year old it has been indelibably burnt into my brain. just discussing this with my best friend funnily enough and thought I'd see if it happened to be on here
I remember this advert from when I was younger, was shown in the early 90's I believe. I particularly remember the last scene where you can see the girl's head resting on the door with blood dripping down - that stayed with me until this very day - hence why I decided to YouTube it today out of curiousity to see if I could find it. Very good advert!
This PIF is really etched into my mind, remember watching it as a kid and it really freaked me out, it certainly made me never want to drink and drive...
@lydiii45 Around 1991/1992 methinks. The car is a H reg that came out in August 90', but they'd probably want to get the advert on tv before the holiday season, so it would most likely be 91
What is the name of the actor from 24 - 28s? He used to star in a short series show on BBC Childrens TV called "Runners" circa 1990. Extremely spooky the way he tracked down people around England saying "I'm after you" for no particular reason. I would very much like to review some old footage of those episodes just for nostalgia value. Can anyone else remember the series?
I remember this advert from when i was a kid, its terrified me xD i saw it twice (i think) and i had nightmares for weeks. The song still brings back memories..
This advert used to scare me very much when I was young but you know its the sort of commercial that puts the message across brilliantly and especially when the bloke who's drinking the pint of beer suddenly his expression changes now that has always interested me was he aware or had what is called a premonition that something really bad was going to happen to his friends and that they wouldn't ever return again In my honest opinion they were doomed when they first got in that car and drove off
The reason his facial expression changed had nothing to do with the people drinking and driving, if you look closely you'll realise that it's because he realises that the jukebox is broken and giving out poor quality sound. Nightmare.
@Odessii Yeah you and that jukebox have a lot in common then don't you? You're both like a broken record that goes on and on and on playing/talking crap over and over, crap that nobody even finds remotely funny.
The song is called in the summertime but i cant remember the artist.Try typing it in on frostwire and see what turns up! Sorry i cant be more help but this song should not be all that hard to find!
This gave me nightmares as a kid, but watching it again now it's not so scary.. and it's meant to frighten people really because they need something like this to get the message across
I wish they used adverts like this in the US. They'd be a lot more effective than just saying "please drink responsibly" at the end of every alcohol ad.
KillerFreya- I agree- its not well known but the UK has the lowest fatality rates in Europe on our roads, averaging about 3500 a year- of course thats no consolation to the victims but its much lower than previous decades, so these ads must have had at least some effect.
This advert scarred me as a child too. I was frightened to watch tv at night because of this but looking back now its not as bad as I remembered it and its just what we need these days - I agree it should be used this summer.

To be fair, that's probably the most sensible thing you could do if you owned a Cavalier.
