sadly this building isnt the tallest in the world anymore. and it was never the tallest structure anyways.. the Canadain National Tower is 200 feet taller then this and now the Dubai's huge massive building beat tht.. almost 2k feet.. tallest building and structure in the world.

Frankly speaking, Samsung just play a little part on Taipei 101 building. It's really none of sense to boast of their technology, because every nationality has his own excellence.
Anyway, thanks for sharing this clip, really impressive and amazing.
@jannet852 You're partially right. Samsung participated as a latecomer. It is also true that Taiwan desperately needed help to avoid termination of contract by not finishing construction ontime. Samsung had to take over the whole construction authority to clean up KTRT Joint Venture's mess and to expedite the process to save KTRT Joint Venture's loss. When people came here and bash Samsung and Koreans, I laughed lol....

Samsung played a major role in the construction of Taipei 101 and that's why many references from the West, named Samsung as the main constuctor, ahead of KTRT who's main contractor. Actually KTRT desperately asked Samsung to participate in the construction when the owner of the building was considering a termination of the contract with KTRT who couldn't do the job properly. Samsung took the whole control over the job even though it's a sub-contractor.
@reton022 The truth is China has been colonies of many non-Chinese people. Take a look at the last Chinese dynasty of Qing, Chinese were under the direct rule of Manchus. Don't call all of the people who conquered China as Chinese, for instance, Xianbei who found many of ancient dynasties, had similar language to Koreans. I don't know why many Taiwanese are dying of inferiority complex toward Koreans.
