Boone dies and a despaired Locke indirectly saves the life of Desmond, who in turn saves the lives of everyone on the Island more than once. This show was excellent.
Haha. Yeah I didn't really like Locke that much either after like the middle of season 1, but if you ask me, it's that part that really makes this scene spectacular. Both guys are on the verge of giving up. Desmond is about to commit suicide and who knows what is going through John's head. And then, without even realizing it, they give each other the answers that they needed. They give each other hope... They save each others lives.
@Rijad88 But that *is* a beautiful juxtaposition -- how one desperation can help and heal someone else in equal despondence. That's where the power of this scene comes from.
At the end of the video I was expecting Locke banging on the door of the Hatch. It did happen right after it, right? If so, too bad it isn't in this vid. Cause I like the fact that Desmond is in dispair while at the same time a desperate Locke is banging on the door of the hatch. Great scene!
Woah wtf..... what happens to the table tennis rolled out the way at 1:46 perfectly fine, then at 1:54 it has just collapsed? Haha! That is funny when you notice it. Legendary lost scene though. Sad it's ending soon!!

He was claimed to be "Jacobs last resort" but I think that was just speculated by the MiB.

Desmond wasn't touched by Jacob to our knowledge, but I wonder how Desmond became the failsafe and was his powers only on the island?

They're selling this letter at the auction. I'm seriously tempted to buy it.
