Let em go, Let em grow. We have huge freshwater stripers here in Tennessee on the cumberland river (some 50+, a shitload of 40lb'ers). All these are hatchery fish and we still release them. To me its a hell of lot more fun to catch one fifty pounder then five ten pounders but thats just me.
@brianmoc you think just because i have an I U background on my account that means I live in indiana? lol I live in new Jersey and deep sea troll for everything from drum fish to marlin, wahoo, tuna and mahi mahi and i dont release my catch i catch for keeps, and down here there not on a decline were allowed a 2 per day bag limit for stripers but i guess its different up north
@OrangeYaGlad123 I was going with the I.U back ground as a give way? :) But its 2 from the shore in Ma but not next year and look out they are doing the same via boat for NJ next year.. Its not the big fish its the small fish. the breeders you are catching are the last of them. the bad fishing will start next year and then keep going for the next 5-6 years! :( Nevertheless, You following the rules so GOOD LUCK fishing!
@brianmoc 5-6 years!!! but striper is delicious, and didnt a guy in rhode island catch a striper 1lbs shy of a world record a couple weeks ago? anyways i dont think its the fishermen the are destroying the striper population its the netters they catch everything including stripers but you cant sell them in jersey so they waste them or throw them back dead
Fantastic video and much kudos to you for the release! Unfortunately in the UK that fish would have been knocked on the head and paraded round as a trophy. Perhaps that's why a 30 inch bass is a 'fish of a lifetime' and as rare as hen's teeth.
wow thats a great fish. i hear alot of good storys about fishing at crane beach. Where exactly is this location? And how far away do you think it is from boston?
@Holyjtizzle123 Its In Ipswich and runs down to west Gloucester but its 40 miles north of Boston and at 2,3, or 4-am it takes about 45 mins to get there depending where you live in the city. I start out from South st so with no lights its a straight shoot. Thanks
@Thelaxprofisherman live bait fishermen will always out fish lure guys be it macks or eels but its to easy so its no fun. :) i like top water 99% not as many fish but more skill and more exciting!
@brianmoc EEL fishing is awesome! Bait on the bottom sucks!!! I've caught a lot of big fish on eels and you fish them like a sluggo so whats the difference? Oh yeah, BIG FISH!
@saltycreefer I always give credit to the guys that will always out fish me with eels! I just like seeing the fish hit the lure on top water. Do i miss out on bigger fish yes! but what can i do? These fish just like sluggo's and eels not top water.
@herbtiner :) dynamite would be cool but as you can see people are sleeping in the background! :) nevertheless, bait is easy and not that fun but a big plastic worm works! :)
@scrubitkook :) its just a joke we use between friends.. :) they work veryyyy well its just we like to see the fish hit top water. you will see 4 guys fishing top water lures and once one of us goes to the slugo you here a sigh as we know he will get a fish asap. he gets the; cheater! comment :) hows that?
@G35pudge I went lowbrow but not jig head lowbrow! :)) sluggo! That's all these big fish where taking all week! git 3 fish on top water from 29-32inch and 3 fish and this one from 39-41 on sluggo's. sad but true. :)
it was a 9 foot medium heavy surf pole and i was using a slug-o :( that is a about close to bait as i go but done right the bait guy can always out fish me.
@francmeister420 i hope you not slayin to many fish? :) otherwise they will not make it to me! i let this guy go so you could catch him later in the fall! :) take what you need but keep slayin them! then take a picture! best o luck & thanks brian
@bloodknot101 :) "learn how to handle these fish a little better after landing them." YES, YES, but i'm trying my best and will next time. and thank you..
