I didn't like this song at the time because I thought it was a cheap rip off of Blackbird by the Beatles ("Take these broken wings and learn to fly...") YOU DON'T RIP OFF THE BEATLES!!! I mean, MY GOD!!! And I thought this group wasn't like real musicians. They look like some graduates from a male modeling school. hehe. And the lead singer is way too much in love with himself.

All that said, I guess it's a fairly decent little tune in retrospect. Nice bass riff.

My comment about 22 year olds wasn't meaning all 22 year olds, but a lot of people in that age group that I've encountered wouldn't know quality music if it walked up and clubbed them in the head. They are very much engrossed in what's being shoveled out and called music these days. Play something like this for them, and you get looks of confusion or blank stares all together...

This song always made me feel like soaring. The music of the 80"s delivered such a different vibe, fun, funky, moving, idyllic, and more. Those of us that truly grew up during that period had the best of both worlds, the rock that continued that soon transcended into new wave, ska, it was a beautiful metamorphosis. I'm glad I was able to see it, because I don't even listen to the radio anymore.

"Stalker" is a mighty strong word. There is a BIG difference between unrequited love and being a predator, which is really what "stalking" is all about. This great song has deep emotion, but there is nothing evil or dangerous about that fact. I hear a profound desire for human connection in the eloquent lyrics that are surrounded by lush instrumentation from this little old band from Texas. Mr. Mister, we miss you in this time of "gangsta rap" and teeny-bop fluff.

You know, I like music from the 1600s right through to today. It seems to me there is some sort of obsession about eras, decades, styles and whatever else.

Well, I love this *song* and appreciate the energy which everyone involved has put in to making it.

Talk about what you like or what has brought you to the song. Don't back a decade or a style. It is too much for anyone to be able to take in all of musical history to be able to speak about one period or the other as the best/worst etc.
