@biorgymd The DA tried to bargain with him to remove the charges in exchange of him waiving his right to sue. The cameraman declined, and charges were dropped anyway. As of right now, the cameraman has a federal lawsuit against the city of Newark. It hasn't gone through just yet.

When we got home the police literally barged in my front door and pushed my mom against the refrigerator and arrested me. The kids dad said I beat his son up. As a result of the move, the cameraman is held in position by his neck. Any attempt he makes to move will result in choking pressure on his neck. A "chokehold" should not be confused with a "blood choke," which occurs when pressure is applied to the neck in order to deprive a victim of oxygen, and therefore, induce unconsciousness.

@biorgymd The DA tried to bargain with him to remove the charges in exchange of him waiving his right to sue. The cameraman declined, and charges were dropped anyway. As of right now, the cameraman has a federal lawsuit against the city of Newark. It hasn't gone through just yet.

On what basis did the officer attempt to arrest either of them? God bless that Church Lady, she was right on with the Constitutional rights reminder. I hope they do fight the citation, as there was NO evidence, and that was a shill charge to cover the lack of probable cause for arrest.
This is why people hate police; don't abuse your power, don't try to cover those who do, and you'll get the respect you deserve. Thank God the officers in my town are good, I couldn't live in a place like that.

The cameraman should press charges against that cop. If he acts like this with witnesses around, i'm sure he has done much worse when there's no cameras or witnesses. Put that asshole in his place. @halfcolombian72 I was just going to say that. I lived in a town when I was 16 and 17 and the neighbors dad beat him. i was at a fair out of town with my mom and friend. When we got home the police literally barged in my front door and pushed my mom against the refrigerator and arrested me. The kids dad said I beat his son up. I had to go to court and was put on probation, we tried to tell the police and the judge we were not home at that time but none would listen
