Hey kid, listen, I got the real wood version of this gun and it looks great and that's about it. The accuracy is horrible and the spring bolt is probably harder to cock than the real gun version. I would suggest the plastic version of this gun for kids since it is about 140 or so. And if you are an adult, buy the real wood version to look at it because it does not fire that good.

@DuescherStoltz Well, The shells, when ejected would fall through the snow, so you might loose them. And the Plastic parts (Everything thst looks like wood) would crack because of the weather so no, but if you take care of the gun yes.

if you replace the barrel, because the barrel in this thing is a smoothbore.

anyways, replace the barrel you'll increase accuracy by atleast 30%

the super 9 i had about 5 years ago was dead on, this thing cant hit shit from 10 feet.

but you could easily convert it into a cap firing, shell ejecting air gun (like the cheap chinese ones) fps will rise to 350-400

@Sweetman500 Yup, I bought both guns, the real wood version kar 98, and the agm aeg mp40. I love the mp40. I like the way the Kar 98 looks and feels but I don't like the fire mode at all and I been tinkering with the hop up to get it right but the bbs come out very innacurate.

I've had one of these for a few months and I've taken it and used it in combat. If you're gentle to it and maintain it veyr well, it wont ever fail you in combat. Great for WW1 and WW2 reinactments, not so great for massive assaults, but im usually reconnaissance so it's good for weight and a medium long range weapon. Good review dude.

the mechanism is wrong. the original k98 pulls the fiering-pin back when you pull the bolt up to reload, not by closing it.

Being able to pull the trigger while the gun is on safe isn't a problem, the real mauser actions do that. It just disengages the trigger and locks the bolt

this gun it good if you sit in the corner and just camp with it because it has good accuracy with .25's and you wont loose your shells that way(there easy to find annyway cuz there chrome) plus you can buy stripper clips for it at airsoftGI.IDk alot of people like it and alot of people hate it. the guns not perfect. i would wait a little cuz they might make a different version were it takes a clip instead of shells.

no, but the tanaka kar98 which is about 500 dollars is gas powered aswell as use of a bolt you can most likely mount a scope on that one, but on this one, its just a crap gun they should start selling at walmart because its not helpfull in a game.

the tanaka kar98 is by far the best. it doesnt use shells, and is much more accurate. more durable as well. it also shoots faster, 500fps i believe. also, if you care about realism, is does have german markins on the rifle.
