Richy is an amazing vocalist. He, I think, can actually hit higher notes than bon jovi. Don't really believe that, but I think it's true, from what I've noticed. However, he's better as back up because jon has a very distinguished voice, and Richie complements it perfectly. they did things right.

He had two solo albums: "Stranger in This Town" (1991) and "Undiscovered Soul" (1998). Richie has really good voice, but I can't say that his voice is better than Jon. I think they are both amazing, and u just can't say that this one is better than other. It would be really stupid.. They're too defferent

Richy is an amazing vocalist. He, I think, can actually hit higher notes than bon jovi. Don't really believe that, but I think it's true, from what I've noticed. However, he's better as back up because jon has a very distinguished voice, and Richie complements it perfectly. they did things right.

I'm thinking Richie got the bigger applause because so many people still don't realize what a great singer he is in his own right, and are surprised when they hear how good he is.
For example, most casual Bon Jovi fans have no idea that Richie released two solo albums, both of which really showcase his vocal talents. They just know him as Bon Jovi's lead guitarist and background singer.

@stromssa When I met Richie (4 years ago) I diden't know that he was in Bon Jovi and it was listen to him for a few seonds and from that moment on I can't stop to listen Stranger in this town album. I've never been fan of Bon Jovi, but I went to a concert this year to see him and Only I hope to see him being himself completely, in a solo album and on live. He's got a pretty aura :)

@VoodooChileJ11 For what it's worth, I really like Richie Sambora's solo stuff; if you're not familiar with it, the style is very much like their performance of "Bridge" here--blues-like and mellow. He had two solo albums: "Stranger in This Town" (1991) and "Undiscovered Soul" (1998). Eric Clapton plays the guitar solo on Richie's song "Mr. Bluesman," which is an amazing song, imo...it and his other solo stuff is on YouTube...

You know what it freak's me out when I hear people going insane for artists like Justin Beiber and Taylor Swift. It makes me wonder what the future has instored for the music industry. But its artists like Damien Rice, Richie Sambora, Jack Johnson and a few others that give me hope! They can sit with a guitar and sing and you go on the journey with them! Not worried about being the next heart throb!

In the following years, they only got together for occasional reunion tours (1981 Central Park, 1998; 2003 "Old Friends" and 2009 "Old Friends."), but never officially were 'Simon and Garfunkel' as a recording duo after 1970.
