Daigo input complicated commands like supers and charge faster than most of the players, probably the fastest. He is able to jump, land and do super without delay and without getting hurt by roundhouse, imo faster than 0.2s to input.

@chocobunneh We ran this off a supergun. It's basically a contraption that runs the game directly off an arcade board. It's not a console at all. It's literally a box with a bunch of wires and boards inside, connected to the arcade board and television. This version is arcade perfect because it's using the arcade board.

No, his success rate is not high. In fact, if you look at the few seconds following the 2:07 mark, you will see that Ryu has 4 straight chances to dragon, and fails to do so. It is this poor play which gets him a beating, not some supposed weakness in the Ryu character. The Bison (incorrectly called Balrog) player had his measure. A better Ryu player would dragon more effectively.

You want to count hits and misses, in order to analyse a Street Fighter match? Learn what to count, son.

I don't doubt those statistics. What I doubt is that Ryu is inherently weaker than Bison. As I watch videos like this, some things Ryu could do occur to me. It always amuses me, though, to see a pattern player get a taste of his own medicine, so I'll look for more videos. Maybe, one day, I'll get a chance to play these guys (although I haven't played for years).

I know it's not humanly possible to counter Bison's charges by reaction, that it's necessary to anticipate them. To me, the Bison player's attack patterns are clear, but evidently not to the Ryu player, whose mechanical skills are impressive, but intuition is not. That's the reason he got his ass cut.
